Investigate location
Travel to the southern part of Yagata Forest in Kashine and speak with the Peasant sitting by a fire.
Search for spirits in the forest
Head into Yagata Forest and follow the glowing lanterns to arrive at an abandoned house. There are 3 scrolls that can be found in the abandoned house: The Legend of Yagata Forest, Daily Tasks and The Voices. After searching the house, head to the southwest of the search area to find a body on a mat. Examine the body and the empty mat. Facing the shrine, head right and walk towards the glowing lantern in the distance to find another body. Squeeze through the rock next to the lantern and proceed straight ahead. When you reach the bushes blocking your path, head through them to find a campsite on the other side. Examine the body then head north to find a campfire. Examine the body next to the fire then a set of tracks leading away from the body. Follow the tracks down a dirt path to find bandits.
Defeat bandits
Defeat the group of 6 bandits.
Return to the traveler
Head back south to the Peasant and speak with him to complete the quest.
