Ys IX – Chapter 2 Walkthrough

 

Below is a guide on the collectibles in Chapter 2 of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox!

 

Main Gates

Azure Petals

• On roof of the building next to Ihne’s Wares

• Near the entrance to the Abandoned Building in the small trees

• In a wagon behind the Abandoned Building. Use double jump near the chimney of the Abandoned Building to reach it.

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On top of a chimney next to Eric’s Clinic

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On top of the entrance to town near the Abandoned Building

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – Behind the building across from Eric’s Clinic

  • Requires Crimson Line – At base of bridge near the waterline on the side of Eric’s Clinic. You’ll need to jump down to the ledge it’s resting on then use the Crimson Line to jump back up.

 

Central District

Azure Petals

• On crates next to a trellis behind a building in the northern part of the area by stairs leading up to the prison

• Under a tree near a park bench

• This petal is located on barrels behind a building diagonally from the Relief Tile. To reach it, start at the Relief Tile then follow the path north under the archway until you come to a light pole at the entrance to the square. Take a left to find a path along the fence. Follow the fence back then head left behind the buildings to reach the petal.

• This petal is located on barrels in the alleyway behind the Pendleton.

• Requires Crimson Line – Travel to the roof of Andelph’s Armory to find the petal on the roof behind the armory

• Requires Crimson Line – On a balcony across from Maxim’s Black Market

• Requires Crimson Line – On top of archway near Relief Tile

• Requires Crimson Line – On balcony behind Pendleton. Head up the stairs to the left of the Pendleton then use Crimson Line to shoot up to the top of the house on the right. You’ll then be able to jump across the rooftops to reach the petal.

• Requires Crimson Line – On roof across from the giant tree in the northern part of the area

• Requires Crimson Line – In a tree

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On the cathedral underneath the circle

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On the top of Pendleton

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On the highest point to the west of Pendleton

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On the top of a tower in the northern part of the area

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On the top of a building in the northern part of the area

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On the top of the fountain in Fountain Plaza. To reach it, climb to the very top of the Pendleton building using White Cat. Head to the edge of the building facing the fountain. Once there, roll off the building and keep spamming the dodge/roll button (L1) until you reach the top of the fountain.

 

Graffiti

• On a wall under an overhang behind the building next to the Relief Title

• In the alley behind Rosalie’s Prison Goods

• This graffiti cannot be obtained until you cross the river in the Agricultural District as part of the story in Chapter 2. After jumping across the water, head left to the dead end to find the graffiti on the wall to the right.

• In alley behind Cathedral – reach it using double jump

• Accessible after White Cat joins party – On the side of a tower

• Requires Crimson Line – Above the entrance to Tranquil Underpass on a ledge

  • This chest can be found in the alley with Maxim’s Black Market.
• Black Fig x2
  • To find this chest, head into the building to the left of Edouard’s Bookstore. Make your way down the stairs to reach the waterway. The chest will be at the end of the path.
• Apple x5
  • This chest is located on some barrels between the Cathedral and Pendleton.
• Potato x5
  • This chest can be found up the stairs behind the Pendleton between a house and the ledge.
• White Nut x2
  • This chest can be found behind a house.
• Sweet Remedy
  • This chest is located on a wooden platform behind Pendleton. Head up the stairs to the left of the Pendleton then use Crimson Line to shoot up to the top of the house on the right. You’ll then be able to jump across the rooftops to reach it.
• Warlord Elixir
  • This chest is located on the upper balcony of the cathedral. You can reach it by jumping on the roof of the Le Bistro Blanc then double jumping onto the balcony.
• Life Elixir
  • This chest is located on a roof in the northwestern corner of the area near the Artisan Lane.

 

Agricultural District

Azure Petals

• In the cow pen

• Behind building on the eastern side of the area. Head down the alley past the logs to reach it.

• Northeastern part of the map in the corner of the wheat field

• On roof of open shed. You’ll need to jump down to the roof from the elevated ground behind it.

• When coming from the Main Gates, head to the first storage shed then jump over the fence and onto the roof of the building across from the gap. The petal will be at the top of the waterwheel on the other side of this building.

• Accessible after the White Cat joins the party – On top of the tower in the middle of the Agricultural District

• • • The butterflies can be found on the second level of the town where the green triangles are (pink dots in map above).
      • One will be on the roof of a building.
      • The second is along the makeshift walkway.
      • The third is on balcony across from Nirvana.
    • Once you’ve collected all the butterflies, return to Sue to complete the quest.
