Welcome to our Menancia subquests guide for Tales of Arise. Listed are the subquests you can find in Menancia and how to complete them.
A Boorish Boar
Obtained: Speak with Lagill in Viscint near the inn after gaining you’re two new party members
Target: Defeat the boar zeugle along Traslida Highway
Follow the objective outside of town to the Traslida Highway to find the giant boar. Defeat it in combat then return to Lagill to report back, which will complete the quest. Please note that this enemy has A LOT of health and is level 26!
Reward: 5700 Gald, 325 SP
A Healer and Her Patients
Obtained: Obtained automatically as part of the story
Target: Treat the injured man, injured boy and poet.
Head down the path, healing the injured man, boy and poet. You’ll need 75 SP in order to do this.
Rewards: 1800 Gald, 265 SP
An Eternal Rivalry
Obtained: Speak with the Armored Guard in the Training Grounds after you leave Ganath Haros and unlock fast travel again
Target: Win the duel against Lagill
When you’re ready, speak with Lagill to battle her. She’s level 44! Defeat her to complete the quest.
Rewards: Elemental Guard, 8400 Gald, 270 SP
Another Hillside Anomaly
Obtained: Speak with Cattle Rancher in Viscint on the bridge near the inn
Target: Head to the Tietal Plains
Travel to the Tietal Plains in Menancia. Once there, approach the objective in front of the temple then enter it. It will automatically take you to the innermost sanctum where you’ll need to speak with the Space-Time Researcher. He’ll give you a Destiny Key and the Another Hillside Anomaly quest will complete.
Rewards: 7400 Gald and 160 SP
Bibliophile
Obtained: Speak with Tigrina in the Autelina Palace Library
Target: Show her the following as you get them:
Listed below are the books Tirgrina is looking for and the reward you get for showing them to her. You can obtain the books by crafting them at a blacksmith as they also happen to be Rinwell’s weapons.
- Secrets of the Stars (Happy Bottle X5)
- Nature’s Beauty-type weapon (Rosemary)
- Taming Water-type weapon (Magic Emblem)
- Radiant Light-type weapon (Red Rosemary)
- Rarest Book (Elder Cloak)
These are all craftable weapons for Rinwell. You should be able to make the first three listed. If you haven’t crafted them yet, head to the blacksmith you choose to make them. For the rarest book, you’ll need to craft the Heavenly Gaze towards the end of the main game. Once you show it to her, the subquest will be completed.
Rewards: Pancake Recipe, 3100 Gald, 185 SP
Claiming a Bounty
Obtained: Speak with the Frontier Man in Viscint
Target: Defeat the Great Dragon along Traslida Highway
This dragon randomly swoops down when you’re fighting enemies in Traslida Highway. When it does, defeat it then report back to the man in Viscint. Please note that this enemy has A LOT of health!
Rewards: 5700 Gald, 325 SP
Dahna’s Tastiest Pancake
Obtained: Speak with Sweets Seller at the Viscine Inn in Menancia
Target: Learn how to fix pancakes
Travel to the Pharia Ranch in Menancia and speak with Bogdel there. This will trigger a cutscene resulting in the quest being completed.
Rewards: Hootle Pancakes Recipe, 5100 Gald, 150 SP
Dohalim, Big Game Hunter
Obtained: Speak with the Frontier Woman in Traslida Highway near Pharia Ranch after gaining you’re two new party members
Target: Defeat the simian zeugle along Traslida Highway
Follow the objective to northern Traslida Highway near the Waterfall Depths to find a Level 25 Alpha Reaper and 2 Level 21 Apes. Defeat them then return to the woman to report back and complete the quest.
Rewards: 5700 Gald, 325 SP
Getting Rusty
Obtained: Speak with the Dahnan Man at Traslida Highway just outside of Pharia Ranch after meeting the lord of the land.
Target: Defeat 8x Earthen Mass near the field
Head back across the bridge towards the open field and locate the floating enemies called Earthen Mass. Defeat 8 of them then return to the man and speak with him to complete the quest.
Rewards: Life Bottle x2, 1500 Gald, 140 SP
Gourmet Saga: Palace Delivery
Obtained: Speak with Gourdeno in Viscint
Target: Acquire 2x Beef, 4x Potato, 4x Tomato, 2x Mushroom
Once you’ve collected all the ingredients from harvest points (if you don’t already have them in your inventory), hand them over to Gourdeno for a dialog scene followed by quest completion!
Rewards: Beef Stew Recipe, 1100 Gald, 150 SP
Otherworldly Visitor
Obtained: Automatically after completing Another Hillside Anomaly quest (see this quest above)
Target: Traverse the world of the first key
Interact with the nearby portal and select “Destiny Rift” as your destination. This will transfer you to The Otherworld Cavern of Fate Shallows. Explore the cavern until you reach the depths. Once there, approach the girl with the umbrella to trigger a cutscene leading to a battle against the Level 63 Edna! After defeating her, you’ll receive the Symphony Key. Return to the Earth Spirit Temple. Activate the portal again and select the “Symphony Rift”.
Once in the Otherworld Spirit Forest, take the north central path to reach the Spirit Forest Shallows. In the Spirit Forest Shallows take the eastern path to reach the Spirit Forest Center. In this area, take the southwestern path to reach the Depths. There you’ll encounter the Level 69 Nimus Origin. After you defeat it, you’ll receive the Abyss Key. Just like before return to the spirit temple and take it to the “Abyss Rift”!
In the Otherworld Snowcap Entrance, work your way to the deepest part, the Summit. There you’ll need to head up to the top to find Vasneiys, Maleiys and Dulneiys (all Level 75). Take out all 3 to receive the Zest Key. Yet again return to the temple. This time select “Zest Rift”.
Next, you’ll find yourself in the Otherworld Dragon Slumber Mountain. Make your way to the summit and approach the guy to trigger a cutscene followed by a fight with Level 81 Eizen. Defeat him to receive the Scarlet Night Key. Once again return to the temple and select “Scarlet Night Rift”.
When you arrive through the portal, you’ll reach the Otherworld Volcano of Renewal: Lower Level. Make your way through this area until you reach the Summit where you’ll need to approach Edna and Eizen. After the cutscene, a fight will trigger with Level 87 Edna and Eizen. Defeat them both to receive the Vesper Key then return to the temple. This time select “Vesper Rift”.
Once you reach the Otherworld Land of Judgment, head to the center of the room to trigger a cutscene followed by a fight with Level 95 Chronos. After you take him down, report back to the client to complete the Otherworldly Visitor quest.

Pharia Ranch
Obtained: Approach the fallen man in Traslida Highway just before Viscint
Target: Talk to the collapsed old man
Speak with him to trigger a cutscene.
Rewards: 800 Gald, 110 SP
Record Collection
Obtained: Speak with the Wonder Bard near the Training Grounds in Viscint
Target: Record people’s voices in Calaglia
Travel to the following places and speak with the person listed:
- Mosgul – Doc and Kohl at the Doc’s tent
- Ulzebek – Dyron near the Inn, Grenar up the stairs across from the Inn, and Nayth at the Crimson Crows Hideout
- Glanymede Castle – Gourdeno in the south central part of the room
After speaking with the above, travel to Bregon’s Hideout in Cysloden. There you’ll speak with Bregon in the hideout then Patvo near the Central Plaza Avenue map transition. Next travel to the following places in Menancia:
- Pharia Ranch – Bogdel
- Viscint – Drashin outside of the inn
- Training Grounds – Lagill near the steps leading out of the Training Grounds
- Autelina Palace – Tigrina in the library
For Mahag Saar, you’ll need to travel to the below places.
- Niez – Baephon near the fast travel point and Giselle near the plaza
- Hidden Wharf – Mahavar in front of the ship
Next, travel to the following places in Ganath Haros:
- Thistlym – Nottio and Cagari near the fast travel point
- Pelegion – Tilsa on Level 2 and Ganye on Level 3
After speaking with all the people, return to the Wonder Bard to complete the Record Collection!
Rewards: 36800 Gald, 650 SP
Spirit Temple
Obtained: Speak with the Anxious Man next to the wagon in Traslida Highway after leaving Ganath Haros and unlocking fast travel again
Target: Investigate the Tietal Plains
Head north to the Tietal Plains and approach the center to trigger a cutscene and gain a fast travel point. Please note that the lowest enemy inside the portal is level 60. When you’re ready, head through the portal to enter a temple. You’ll need to work your way through the area to the Inner Sanctum where you’ll fight the Grand Gnome. The boss will have a barrier preventing you from dealing damage to it. In order to bring it down, you’ll need to defeat 2 waves of enemies. Once it goes down, you’ll be able to take out the boss. After it’s defeated, leave the temple and return to the Anxious Man next to the wagon in Traslida Highway to complete the Spirit Temple quest.
Rewards: Golden Suit of Armor, 16800 Gald, 50 SP
Taste-Testing Tusks
Obtained: Speak with the man at the bottom of the stairs southwest of the inn in Viscint
Target: Acquire 4x Granite Fang
The Granite Fangs can be looted from the boars in Traslida Highway.
Rewards: 1500 Gald, 175 SP
The Phantom Flower of Nevira
Obtained: Enter the library in Autelina Palace after leaving Ganath Haros and unlocking fast travel again
Target: Look for the Phantom Flower in the Nevira Snowplains
Follow the objective to the Nevira Snowplains in Cyslodia to trigger a cutscene after which a battle with a Level 54 Meneiys will ensue. Defeat it to complete The Phantom Flower of Nevira quest.
Rewards: Glutton’s Guidebook, 12600 Gald, 35 SP
The Stud from the Plains
Obtained: Speak with Bogdel at Pharia Ranch after leaving Ganath Haros and unlocking fast travel again
Target: Pick up the work uniform in Viscint
Head to Viscint and go down the stairs from the inn. Speak with the Young Dahnan Woman for a funny dialog event then return to Bogdel to hand over the uniform. You’ll then have to find the bull. Exit the ranch and head directly north to locate the bull surrounded by zeugles. Defeat them. After a cutscene, you’ll receive Farmer’s Clothes, Farmer’s Straw Hat and Shoreman’s Straw Hat.
Rewards: 2300 Gald, 160 SP
Training Ground for All
Obtained: Automatically upon approaching a woman standing along the wall northeast of the inn in Viscint
Target: Head to the training grounds
Make your way to the Training Grounds, which is the map transition closest to the palace, and speak with the person at the large desk. Engage in a battle (either solo or group). Be mindful of the recommended levels when selecting the level. Afterwards, the Training Ground for All quest will be completed.
Rewards: 500 Gald, 165 SP
Walking Crag
Obtained: Speak with the Quarry Laborer in Viscint after gaining your 2 new party members
Target: Defeat the walking crag at the Razum Quarry
Head across the bridge to the quarry then defeat the Level 28 Flamewrecker inside. Afterwards, report back to the man to complete the Walking Crag quest.
Rewards: 5700 Gald, 325 SP
