Welcome to NGB and our Kingdom Come Deliverance walkthrough for the Playing with the Devil quest! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through this quest.
Playing with the Devil Overview
Quest Giver: Father Godwin – Uzhitz
Summary: Father Godwin asks Henry to help deal with a witch problem. The local herb woman sold magic ointment to three village wenches. They plan on using it, putting their lives and immortal souls at risk.
Objective(s):
Go and see Gertrude
Head to Gertrude’s location and talk to her. Select the dialog option I’ve come from the priest to get the party started. This will initiate a speech check. Pass the check to get more information out of Gertrude. Exhaust the dialog options and agree to help her out.
Speak to the village women about the magical ointment
Make your way back to the village and talk with the three village women. Pick the option mentioning the priest or herb woman to get a speech check. You only have to talk to one to get the next objective, but you can talk to all three if you still need to work on leveling up your speech skill.
Follow the women to the woods
Skip time until dusk (22) for the three village women to meet up at the edge of the forest. Head to their location and wait for them to start moving deeper into the forest. Follow behind them while sneaking at a distance until they enter a misty area. Hang back while they move into the mist and sit by the campfire.
Follow the women at a distance and don’t interfere
Once around the campfire, the women will begin trying to summon Lucifer. Don’t move any closer if you don’t want to fail the current objective. Keep waiting until one woman heads towards you. Stay crouching where you are until the objective updates.
Interject in the chanting
You have a choice to make here. If you are trying for the Virgin Trophy/Achievement do not interject in the chanting. This next part of the quest will result in you losing it as Henry is about to partake in some pretty weird stuff. There will come a point when bandits show up if you keep waiting. When that happens you are free to get involved or sit back and watch. If you don’t care for about the Trophy/Achievement, then head to the campfire.
Cavort with the women
You will get to pick one of the women to cavort with. To get to cavorting, you will need to sneak up behind the women you chose and lockpick her from behind. Don’t worry, it’s a very easy lock to pick. When your done with the cavorting, two men will run up and start attacking the girls.
Tell the Paris Priest what happened
Head back to Uzhitz and report to Father Godwin what happened. You may need to skip time until he comes out of his house to speak with him. Pick whatever dialog options you see fit. This will complete the quest, but another objective will appear to tell the herb woman about what happened. You can do this if you wish.
Tell the herb woman how it ended up
Head back to the herb woman to tell her about what happened during the ritual. You don’t get anything for this.
