Vampyr – Hide and Seek

Investigation Received: Head to Enid Gillingham’s house in the Western Docks. Search around her house to find the Unfinished Letter to get this investigation.

 

Summary: After finding a half-written letter, Jonathan learns of a scared young man who is hiding in a quarantine area. He is so afraid that he is hiding in a dangerous location. This is interesting to Jonathan who wants to know why he chose to hide there.

 

Objective(s):

  • Talk to the man hiding in the sewers
  • Convince Rodney to go back to the Docks

 

Talk to the man hiding in the sewers

In order to gain access to the sewers, you will need to be at least on the Give a Dog a Bad Name main story quest in Chapter 3. Head to the boardwalk located on the southwestern side of the Western Docks. The entrance to the sewer is a gate located under the boardwalk. Head through the gate to work your way forward until you reach the sewer skal camp. If you already completed the sewer quest, then take the shortcut in Sean Hampton’s office.  Head to the southern lower level of the skal camp to find a tunnel that leads straight to the man hiding in the sewers. 

 

Convince Rodney to go back to the Docks

Talk to the man named Rodney and choose the dialog option ‘You don’t look like a killer’ to convince him to head back to the docks and complete this investigation.

Investigation Received:  This investigation is automatically triggered when exploring around the center of the Docks.

 

Summary: An old man is trapped by Skal and it’s up to Jonathan to help him out.

Follow the object to the southish-eastern side of the Dock to find a trio of Skals trying to get to the old man. Defeat them, open the gate, and then talk to the old man named Archer to complete the investigation.

Investigation Received: Head to the Docks and locate Seymour Fishburn. Talk to him and choose the dialog options ‘Your life in London?’, ‘What is your role around here?’, then ‘Is something bothering you?’ to get the investigation.

 

Summary: Seymour Fishburn told Jonathan that he lost a necklace he wanted to give to his mother. Jonathan thinks about looking for it to help calm Seymour down.

 

Objective(s):

  • Retrieve the necklace lost by Seymour Fishburn
  • Choose what to do with Seymour Fishburn’s necklace
    • Bring back the necklace to Seymour
    • Give it to his mother

 

Retrieve the necklace lost by Seymour Fishburn

Head down the stairs to the lakefront near the area where Seymour can be found in. Take a right at the bottom and head towards the fire barrel next to a dead end (image below). Shortly before the barrel, take a right and destroy the wooden barrels that are in the way. Turn right again at the end of the path to find the necklace in a pile of dead bodies.

 

 

Choose what to do with Seymour Fishbyrn’s necklace

Talk to either Stella or Seymour to hand over the necklace and complete the quest. If you give Seymour the necklace, you will get a new hint for him. Make sure to choose the ‘Try to understand’ option during your conversation to unlock additional hints.

Investigation Received:  Head to the Docks and talk to Dyson Delaney (around ch. 3). Choose the dialog options ‘Your life in London?’, ‘Anything you like about the district?’, then ‘All right. Go on…’ to get this investigation.

 

Summary:  Dyson Delaney told Jonathan he started drinking the day a bomb fell and took away all that he cared about. He drank so much that he forgot where it happened. Jonathan ponders looking for the place where the incident happened to help bring Dyson closure.

 

Objective(s):

  • Locate the site where the bombing took place
  • Find some flowers to pay respect to the victims
  • Put the flowers on the bombing place
  • Talk to Dyson Delaney about the bombing

Investigation Received: Head to the Docks and talk with Tom Watts. Choose the dialog options ‘Your life in London?’, ‘How can you keep this place open’, then ‘Is there anything I can do?’ to get this investigation.

 

Summary:  Tom is worried about his gin supply running out and the complications that could bring to the area. He asks Jonathan to use his doctor status to reach an area where he hid a supply of gin and bring back some bottles.

 

Objective(s):

  • Retrieve some gin bottles from Tom Watts’ stash
  • Choose what to tell Tom Watts
    • Bring back the gin bottles to Tom
    • Lie to Tom and keep the gin bottles

Head to the docks behind the bar (west) and teleport to the boat that is docked next to a warehouse on the western docks. Head inside and take care of the beast and 2 hunters, then teleport up the broken steps to the second level of the warehouse where you will find the room where Tom stores his booze. Collect the booze and search a locker in the room to find a new hint on Tom.

 

Choose what to tell Tom Watts

Head back to the Docks and talk with Tom. You can hand over the bottles of gin or lie and keep them for yourself. Either option will complete the investigation.

Summary: Giselle tells Jonathan that the pledge money she was supposed to be looking after got stolen from her while she was drunk.

There will be a couple of Priwen hunters to fight on the boardwalk. Defeat them and you should find the bag of money on one of the corpses.

Head back to the Western Docks and talk with Giselle. You can give her the money or lie and say you don’t have it. Either option will end the investigation. Giving her back the money unlocks additional hints for Giselle.

Summary: Ichabod asked Jonathan to help him warn the locals about vampires by placing posters around the Western Docks.

For this first objective, you will need to have access to the Western Dock because that’s where the posters are located. You do not gain access to the Western Docks until completing the chapter 3 main quest, The Sad Saint of the East End. Follow the objective of this investigation to find the posters.

 

Choose what to do about Ichabod Throgmorton’s Campaign

To complete this objective you can either place the 5 posters around the Western Docks or burn all the posters. The poster will need to be hung on 5 bulletin boards like the one in the image below. After you burn or hang the posters, return to Ichabod and talk to him to complete this investigation.

Investigation Received: Head to the Docks to find Edwina Cox. Talk to her and choose the dialog options ‘Your life in London?’, ‘About this part of town?’, then ‘Thinking of somebody in particular?’ to receive this investigation.

 

Summary:  Edwina Cox asks Jonathan to use his position as a doctor to gain access to a restricted area to scold some gravediggers.

Make your way to Southwark by heading south of the docks, crossing back over the bridge from the first quest in the game. The gravediggers are located in the area where Mary found Jonathan. Head past the pit that Jonathan climbed out of to find a pair of bodies laying next to a crane. One of them holds the Warning Note from Booth and the other has Jonathan’s pocket watch.

 

Choose what to tell Edwina Cox

Make your way back to Edwina in the Dock and talk to her. You can tell her the gravediggers are dead or choose the hide the truth option. Either one will complete the investigation.

Vampyr – Another Body Murdered

Investigation Received:  The investigation can be discovered to the southeast of The Docks (see the white custom marker in the image below). You will need to head through a gate, into the house and then up to the second-floor bedroom to find the body. Interact with it to start the investigation.

 

 

Summary: Jonathan found the corpse of a man who appears to have been murdered. The man was not taken by the flu or ripped apart by Skal so he decides to look into the case.

 

Objective(s):

  • Find out how Jack Gillingham died
  • Choose what to do with Jack Gillingham’s watch
    • Bring it back to a relative
    • Sell it to someone else

After you obtain the bloody letter, inspect Jack’s body and exhaust all of the dialog options to get the next objective.

 

Choose what to do with Jack Gillingham’s watch

For this objective, you can either give Jack’s watch to his mother Enid Gillingham or sell it to the merchant Martin Nightingale. Enid’s house is located in the Western Docks and Martin is located right next to it. Giving either one of them the watch will complete the investigation.
