Welcome to NGB and our Shin Megami Tensei V guide on the Chiyoda subquests. Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through these quests!
A Power Beyond Control
Client: Patrolling Angel – Awajicho
Reward: Small Glory Crystal x4
Summary: Investigate massive hole at Shinagawa North Pier
Speak with the Patrolling Angel where the wall of flames was in Awajicho after defeating Surt. He’ll want you to head to Shinagawa North Pier, which is east of the Konan 3rd Block leyline in Shinagawa. Once in Shinagawa North Pier, head to the objective and speak with the demons to learn more about the situation. Per one of the demons, you must wait for the moon to be full in order for the demon to appear. When it’s full, approach the hole to trigger a cutscene that leads to a battle with a Level 51 Amanozako. She is weak to Ice and Fire, resists Light, reflects Electric and blocks Force and Dark. After you defeat her, you’ll receive Amanozako’s Essence! Return to the Patrolling Angel near the Awajicho leyline to complete the subquest.
A Sobering Standoff
Client: Dionysus – Sukiyabashi
Reward: Stamina Balm x1
Summary: Defeat Black Frost
Dionysus can be found right next to the Sukiyabashi Leyline Fount. For this subquest, you’ll have to choose between defeating Black Frost (see Black Frost Strikes Back subquest below) or Dionysus. If you choose to fight Black Frost, he is Level 44 and is weak to Light, resists Fire and blocks Ice. After defeating him, return to Dionysus and speak with him to complete the quest. He will then join your party!
An Unusual Forecast
Client: Kelpie – Mansei Bridge
Reward: Soma x1
Summary: Deliver Girimekhala’s Head to Kelpie
Girimekhala can be found in Konan 4th Block near the demon Lilim that gave you a subquest.
If you have not already done so, defeat him! He is weak to Electric, Force and Light. He resists Dark and reflects Physical. After you defeat him, collect his head and return to Kelpie to complete the quest.
Black Frost Strikes Back
Client: Black Frost – Ginza
Reward: Health Balm x1
Summary: Defeat Dionysus
Black Frost can be found in a building northwest of the Ginza Leyline Fount. For this subquest, you’ll have to choose between defeating Dionysus (see A Sobering Standoff subquest above) or Black Frost. If you choose to fight Dionysus, he is Level 44 and is weak to Ice, resists Electric and blocks Fire. Return to Black Frost and speak with him to complete the quest. He will also join your party!
Clash with the Kunitsukami
Client: Okuninushi – Kanda-no-yashiro
Reward: Kunitsu Talisman x1
Summary: Battle Okuninushi and the other Kunitsukami
Speak with Okuninushi after completing The Search for Oyamatsumi subquest (see below). Upon accepting the quest, you’ll engage in a battle with a Level 47 Sukuna-Hikona, Level 50 Okuninushi, Level 43 Oyamatsumi and Level 39 Take-Minakata.
- Okuninushi
- Weak: Ice
- Resists: Light, Dark
- Uses Physical and Fire skills, heals and can cure ailments
- Oyamatsumi
- Weak: Fire
- Resists: Ice and Electric
- Blocks: Dark
- Uses Physical attacks and can buff their defense
- Sukuna-Hikona
- Weak: Electric
- Resists: Light, Dark
- Blocks: Ice
- Uses Ice and Physical skills
- Take-Minakata
- Weak: Fire
- Resists: Electric
- Uses a combination of Physical and Electric skills
After you defeat them, the quest will complete and you’ll unlock Kunitsu Okuninushi for fusion.
Glitter in Ginza
Client: Queen Medb – Ginza
Reward: Grimoire x3
Summary: Deliver 2 Diamonds, 3 Garnets and 3 Aquamarines to Queen Medb
Speak with Queen Medb in Ginza after defeating Ishtar.
If you don’t already have these gems, they can be collected by demons that follow you. Decarabia specifically will find them! If you need to collect more, you can speak with him near the Tokyo Station leyline to have him follow you again. After you turn in the quest, you’ll be able to trade jewels. She’ll give you the following:
- 2 Diamonds = Vitality Incense
- 3 Garnet = Agility Incense
- 3 Aquamarine = Luck Incense
He of a Hundred Hands
Client: Valkyrie – Akihabara Electric Town
Reward: 18,000 Macca
Summary: Defeat Hecatoncheires
Hecatoncheires can be found under the bridge containing the Akihabara leyline. It’s Level 47, is weak to Force and blocks Dark. Defeat it then return to Valkyrie to complete the quest.
Keeper of the East
Client: Jikokuten – Sotokanda
Reward: Large Glory Crystal x1
Summary: Defeat Jikokuten
After completing The Ancient Guardian subquest, head to the Akihabara leyline. Once there, make your way north to Sotokanda to find Jikokuten. Speak with him to begin a battle! He’s Level 65, weak to Fire, blocks Ice and resists Light. He uses Ice, Physical and Almighty skills. Defeat him to complete the quest. You’ll also receive his essence.
Lighting the Way
Client: Jack-o’-Lantern – Ginza
Reward: Chakra Drop x1
Summary: Find 2 Fire Gems
Jack-o’-Lantern can be found near the Ginza Leyline Fount. Speak with it then acquire 2 Fire Gems, which you can obtain from chests.
One Mokoi’s Trash…
Client: Mokoi – Nihonbashi
Reward: Kaiwan’s Essence x1
Summary: Bring a vintage guitar, model kit and TV game system to Mokoi
The Gibbon Guitar can be found in Awajicho in the ravine northeast of the Awajicho leyline next to a tree.
TV-Game Combination can be found in Akihabara. To reach it, head to the center of the map and take a long staircase all the way down to the bottom. You can find the shiny object on the ground past the buildings next to a cliff wall.
The Large Model Kit can be found in Sotokanda against a large building.
Roar of Hatred
Client: Demeter – Otemachi
Reward: Phys Dampener x2
Summary: Defeat the Tyrant near Awajicho
Travel to the Awajicho leyline then make your way along the eastern path to reach the rooftop directly east of the leyline. On this rooftop, you’ll find a large demon you can speak with. Do so to trigger a fight with 1 Level 51 Moloch, 1 Level 50 Flauros and 2 Level 49 Orobas. Moloch is weak to Ice, resists Electric and Dark and blocks Fire. Flauros is weak to Ice. The Orobas are weak to Ice and resist Fire and Dark. Defeat them then report back to Demeter to complete the quest. Tyrant Moloch will also unlock for fusion!
Stones of Malice
Client: Zhen – Sukiyabashi
Reward: Dispel Charm x1
Summary: Find 2 Poison Gems
Zhen can be found under an overpass. Speak with him then acquire 2 Poison Gems, which you can obtain from chests.
The Ancient Guardian
Client: Okuninushi – Kanda-no-yashiro
Reward: Lord’s Sword x1
Summary: Meet with Arahabaki at the waterfall near Fairy Village
After completing The Winged Sun subquest, speak with Okuninushi to begin this quest. Afterwards, travel to the Fairy Village in Shinagawa and approach the giant standing in front of the waterfall to the north of the river. A fight will trigger with the Level 62 Arahabaki. He will also summon a Level 57 Sui-Ki. Arahabaki is weak to Ice, Force, Electric and Fire, blocks Physical and resists Dark and Light. He also uses Almighty attacks. Sui-Ki is weak to Fire and blocks Ice and Electric. After you defeat them, you’ll complete the quest.
The Angel of Destruction
Client: Power – Tokyo Station
Reward: Light Sutra x1
Summary: Go to the sanctuary of resurrection and meet with Archangel Camael
After defeating Ishtar, speak with Power at the area where she was. Once you accept the quest, head to the objective in Ochanomizu. You’ll receive a warning that a powerful demon is ahead. Agree to proceed forward to trigger a cutscene. Afterwards, the quest will conclude, however, you’re not out of the woods yet as he will challenge you to a battle. For this fight, you’ll be up against a Level 54 Camael and 2 Level 48 Power. Camael is weak to Ice, resists Fire and blocks Light. The Power are weak to Force and Dark, resist Electric and block Light. After you defeat them, Camael will unlock for fusion.
The Horn of Plenty
Client: Demeter – Otemachi
Reward: Megami Talisman x1
Summary: Find a Horn of Plenty
Demeter can be found near the Abscess in Otemachi. Speak with her to learn that she wants a Horn of Plenty that is held by a Holy demon. We already had it on us so we just had to hand it over!
The Path to Myojin Forest
Client: Hua Po – Miyuki Street
Reward: Silky’s Essence x1
Summary: Take Hua Po to Myojin Forest in the backwood area of Akihabara
Hua Po can be found on the far western side of the area near the map’s edge next to Ginza. Speak with her and agree to take her to the forest. She’ll be with you quite a ways as the area she needs to go to is just past the bridge of Akihabara Electric Town. When you enter Kanda-no-yashiro, a cutscene will trigger and the subquest will complete.
The Search for Oyamatsumi
Client: Take-Minakata – Kanda-no-yashiro
Reward: Balm of Life x1
Summary: Find Oyamatsumi
Speak with Take-Minakata near the Kanda-no-yashiro leyline after defeating Surt as part of the main story. Travel to the Shiba leyline in Minato then head northwest to find a Level 48 Oyamatsumi. It is weak to Fire, blocks Dark and resists Ice and Electric. It uses Ice and Physical skills. He can also raise his attack. After you defeat it, return to Take-Minakata to complete the quest. Kunitsu Oyamatsumi will also unlock for fusion!
