Rune Factory 5 – Bestiary

 

Below is our bestiary for Rune Factory 5. Please note that enemy threat can be determined at a glance. To check, lock onto them and look at the color of the enemy’s name. White is roughly same level, yellow means a challenging opponent and red means a dire foe. Also, while there may be the same type/species of enemy in the same zone, their location can make a large difference in their strength. Be prudent when fighting enemies and retreat if necessary.

 

Amphibitee

• Notes: It can fling three lily pads at you.

Buffaloo

Dark Orc

• Location: Bandit King’s Old Base 1F
• Drops: Ancient Orc Cloth, Cheap Cloth

Duck

• Location: Lake Yumina, Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Yellow Down

Elefun

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (Near Guiding Tower)
• Drops: Cheap Waterpot
• Notes: Dark Ball spell seems to knock them over consistently.

Elementalist

• Location: Atohl’s End 1F, Atohl’s End 2F
• Weakness: Fire
• Notes: It attacks with Earth Magic that erupts spikes from the ground beneath you. If you hear rumbling or see dust
  or dirt on the ground, keep moving. Attacking it during the earth spikes will not interrupt it so be careful. Also, it can attack with a Water Laser.

Emperor Penguin

• Location: Lake Yumina (Crystal Lake), Meline Crystal Caverns B1
• Notes: It creates two ice rocks and throws them at you for a ranged Water attack.

Fairy

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (East of the Resilient Palm Tree)
• Drops: Fairy Dust
• Notes: Attacks with Wind magic

Fake Green Pepper

• Location: Belpha Ruins, Meline Crystal Caverns B1, Meline Crystal Caverns B2
• Drops: Green Pepper, Green Pepper Seeds
• Notes: Looks like an innocent green pepper on the ground and then it attacks!

Fake Tomato

• Location: Gadeus Grasslands
• Resists: Fire
• Notes: It lies there looking like a tomato. Don’t be fooled!

Fake Turnip

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (Near Guiding Tower)
• Drops: Turnip, Turnip Seeds
• Notes: Looks like an innocent turnip near a gate then it ambushes you!

Fire Slime

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region (Charred area north of Primeval Skeleton), Kelve Lava Caves 1F
• Weakness: Water
• Resists: Physical
• Drops: Fire Crystal
• Notes: It can throw two fireballs at you!

Fleecy

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (The path south toward the Whispering Woods), Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Fur (M)
• Commodity: Fur (S) [Friendship 1 – 5], Fur (M) [Friendship 5 – ?]
• Notes: You can use Clippers to shear their wool and get up to two Fur (S) (as well as make them look adorable… or ridiculous).

Flower Blossom

• Location: Phoros Woodlands
• Drops: Vine, Plant Stem, Root

Flower Crystal

• Location: Lake Yumina
• Weakness: Fire
• Drops: Root
• Notes: It attacks with a five-seed barrage.

Flower Lily

• Location: Meline Crystal Caverns B1, Meline Crystal Caverns B2
• Drops: Plant Stem

Flower Lion

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region, Kelve Lava Caves 1F, Kelve Lava Caves 2F
• Weakness: Water
• Resists: Fire
• Drops: Vine, Plant Stem
• Notes: It has a three seed barrage and deals fire damage.

Furpy

• Location: Meline Crystal Caverns B1, Meline Crystal Caverns B2, Gadeus Grasslands, Bandit King’s Old Base 1F
• Drops: Quality Puffy Fur, Branch

Ghost

• Location: Belpha Ruins (B2), Kelve Volcanic Region, Atohl’s End 1F
• Weakness: Light
• Drops: Rusted Iron, Ghost Hood
• Notes: It can disappear and re-appear later. Attacks with Dark Magic.

Goblin

• Location: Whispering Woods, Belpha Ruins, Kelve Lava Caves 1F, Kelve Lava Caves 2F
• Drops: Old Bandage, Blade Shard, Onigiri

Goblin Archer

• Location: Belpha Ruins
• Drops: Old Bandage, Recovery Potion
• Notes: Has a three-arrow spread attack. Be careful getting hit up close.

Goblin King

Goblin Pirate

• Location: Atohl’s End 1F

Griffin

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (At the edge of the sandy area north of the Guiding Tower), Lake Yumina

Growler

• Location: Meline Crystal Caverns B2, Atohl’s End 1F
• Drops: Fur
• Notes: It has a howl that hits a nearby area around it to deal damage and can inflict Skill Seal.

High Orc

• Location: Phoros Woodlands
• Drops: Glue, Stick

Hippogriff

• Location: Gadeus Grasslands
• Notes: It attacks by flapping its wings and sending fast-moving wind blades forward. It can also summon a small wind tornado.

Hornet

• Location: Phoros Woodlands, Kelve Lava Caves 1F, Kelve Lava Caves 2F
• Weakness: Fire
• Drops: Honey, Pretty Carapace, Insect Carapace, Insect Jaw

Ice Griffin

• Location: Lake Yumina
• Notes: It attacks with a single shot wind-looking projectile.

Ignis

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region, Kelve Lava Caves 1F, Atohl’s End 1F, Atohl’s End 2F
• Weakness: Water
• Absorbs: Fire
• Drops: Fire Crystal, Magic Crystal

Insect

• Location: Phoros Woodlands, Whispering Woods, Belpha Ruins
• Drops: Insect Jaw, Insect Carapace, Insect Horn, Branch
• Notes: If it flies into the air, it’ll perform an earth spike attack directly in front.

Kaiser Troll

• Location: Bandit King’s Old Base 2F

Little Bug

• Location: Kelve Lava Caves 2F
• Weakness: Fire
• Drops: Insect Jaw, Insect Horn, Insect Carapace

Magician

• Location: Atohl’s End 1F, Atohl’s End 2F
• Weakness: Water
• Resists: Fire
• Notes: It throws three fireballs forward. When it charges up, it will throw a large fireball at you.

Mamadoodle

• Location: Phoros Woodlands
• Drops: Egg (M)

Meowly

• Location: Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Fur (S), Fur
• Notes: It puts up a barrier using light magic making it hard to fight in melee.

Monster Box

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region, Kelve Lava Caves 1F, Kelve Lava Caves 2F, Bandit King’s Old Base 1F
• Drops: Broken Hilt, Failed Dish
• Notes: It’s a mimic that can appear when attacking/opening a treasure chest. These can be locked onto in advance to ruin their ambush as they appear as a red dot on your minimap. It can use Water Laser at range as well as a cone shot of several arrows.

Orc

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (Along the path to Whispering Woods; Phoros Uplands), Whispering Woods
• Drops: Cheap Cloth, Stick

Orc Archer

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (Phoros Uplands), Whispering Woods
• Drops: Arrowhead, Recovery Potion, Stick
• Notes: Ranged attacker, can hit arrows with melee attacks to deflect them

Orc Hunter

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (Phoros Uplands)
• Drops: Gunpowder

Orc King

• Location: Atohl’s End 2F
• Weakness: Fire
• Drops: Stick, Glue

Palm Cat

• Location: Lake Yumina (Frozen Hill), Meline Crystal Caverns B1, Meline Crystal Caverns B2, Bandit King’s Old Base 1F
• Drops: Palm Claw
• Notes: Beware of their strong physical attacks. They can knock you down and throw a power wave along the ground for ranged damage.

Queen Bee

• Location: Gadeus Grasslands
• Weakness: Fire
• Drops: Insect Jaw
• Notes: Its sting can inflict paralysis.

Red

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region (Pyroclastic Falls), Gadeus Grasslands
• Weakness: Water
• Absorbs: Fire
• Drops: Fire Crystal
• Likes: Cake
• Notes: It’s a tiny red fairy proficient in fire magic. It can summon fire plumes that rotate outward around it and does a melee spin attack. It can summon explosions outward around it when you get close and can fling four fireballs forward for a longer ranged attack.

Ribbitee

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (The river between the Phoros Uplands and Guiding Tower), Whispering Woods
• Drops: Viscous Liquid

Ribbitee Hunter

• Location: Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Blade Shard, Lotus Leaf, Viscous Liquid
• Notes: It can throw an air slash at you by swinging its axe.

Rider Orc

• Location: Lake Yumina, Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Cheap Cloth, Cheap Bracelet, Fur, Wolf Fang

Ripper

• Location: Kelve Volcaninc Region, Atohl’s End 1F
• Weakness: Light
• Drops: Skull, Thick Stick, Ghost Hood
• Notes: It can phase in and out. It also has ranged Dark attacks on top of swinging their scythe.

Rockhopper Penguin

• Location: Lake Yumina (Crystal Igloo), Meline Crystal Caverns B1, Meline Crystal Caverns B2, Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Bird’s Feather
• Notes: It can attack by dropping a ball of ice on your head. If it hits, you’ll get knocked down and be vulnerable.

Shadow Panther

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region, Kelve Lava Caves 1F, Kelve Lava Caves 2F, Atohl’s End 1F, Atohl’s End 2F
• Weakness: Light
• Drops: Quality Fury, Panther Claw

Silent Baku

• Location: Atohl’s End 1F, Atohl’s End 2F
• Drops: Cheap Waterpot, Ivory Tusk

Silver Wolf

• Location: Lakee Yumina, Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Wolf Fang, Quality Fur
• Notes: This enemy is a fast attacker. It has lunge attacks from range and good physical offense. Be careful of their headbutt attack, too.

Siren

• Location: Lake Yumina (Azure Falls)
• Drops: Melody Bottle

Sky Fish

• Location: Belpha Ruins (B2), Lake Yumina
• Drops: Can, Fish Fossil
• Notes: Attacks with Water Laser

Slime

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region (Ancient Forest)
• Resists: Physical
• Drops: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Bronze
• Notes: It has a high physical defense. Use magic of some kind or an elemental weapon.

Snatcher

• Location: Atohl’s End 2F
• Drops: Strong Talon
• Notes: It has a howl that hits a nearby area around it to deal damage and can inflict Skill Seal.

Spider

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region (Ancient Forest), Kelve Lava Caves 1F, Kelve Lava Caves 2F
• Drops: Spider’s Thread, Insect Jaw

Spirit

• Location: Kelve Volcanic Region
• Resists: Light
• Drops: Magic Crystal, Light Crystal
• Notes: It attacks with Light and leaves light orbs on the field for a bit.

Timidee

• Location: Gadeus Grasslands
• Notes: It can use the lily pad stem it’s holding to throw an air slash at range.

Tricky Muck

• Location: Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Poison Powder
• Notes: Its lunge attack can inflict paralysis.

Troll

• Location: Bandit King’s Old Base 1F

Tundra

• Location: Lake Yumina (Frozen Hill or Azure Falls), Meline Crystal Caverns B1, Meline Crystal Caverns B2
• Weakness: Fire
• Absorbs: Water
• Drops: Water Crystal, Magic Crystal
• Notes: Watch out for their ability to teleport around. They mainly use water magic to shoot ice spikes out from the ground in a forward direction or drop ice rocks on your location.

Wooly

• Location: Phoros Woodlands (Near entrance to Rigbarth in western part), Kelve Volcanic Region, Gadeus Grasslands
• Drops: Fur (M), Clippers (Might be very rare)
• Commodity: Fur (S) [Friendship 1 – 5], Fur (M) [Friendship 5 – ?]
• Notes: You can use Clippers to shear their wool and get up to two Fur (S) (as well as make them look adorable… or ridiculous).

Wooly King

• Location: Lake Yumina (outside Meline Crystal Caverns entrance)
