Below are the quests in NieR Replicant Part 2. You’ll need to complete quests in order to receive the Village Handyman (complete 10), Jack of All Trades (complete 20) and Go-To Guy (complete 30) trophies. Looking for a certain item for a quest? A Bridge in Peril

Obtained: Speak with a guard walking near the entrance to the Northern Plains from your village after visiting the Lost Shrine

Objective: Defeat the Shade near the bridge in the Northern Plains

The Shade can be found by the bridge leading to The Aerie on a cloudy day. Please note that it does not always spawn. Defeat it in combat then return to the guard near the entrance to the Northern Plains in your village.

Reward: 30000 G

 

A Child’s Final Chance

Obtained: Speak with the Grocer in your village after visiting the Lost Shrine

Objective: Speak with the children in your village

Speak with two children in the shopping district and one on the bridge near the waterwheel. Afterwards, head to the Forest of Myth and speak with the mayor. Next, head to the legendary tree in the northeast side of the area and interact with the shiny objects on the ground. You’ll be asked the following questions:

  • What was the color of the lost envy?
    • The answer is the color of the young girl’s eyes (for us it was blue).
  • How many were lost by the warrior who fought the red-eyed beasts?
    • Her daughter and 23 friends.
  • Yonah (it doesn’t matter which one you select)

Afterwards, head to the exit to trigger a cutscene with Kaine and a kind villager during which you’ll receive an antidote. Return to the Grocer to hand it over.

Reward: 10000 G

 

A City Reborn

Obtained: Speak with the guard in front of the Facade palace after finding all the fragments

Objective: Obtain 20 iron ore, 20 clay and 20 logs

The iron ore can be found on the ground around the Northern Plains. You can also purchase it from Two Brothers Weaponry at the Junk Heap for 1000 G each. The clay can be found on the ground in the Eastern Road and Northern Plains. You can also purchase it at the Material Shop in Facade for 800 G each. The logs can be purchased at the Material Shop in your village for 500 G each. Once you obtain all the items, return to the guard to hand them over.

Reward: 50000 G

 

A Memorable Knife

Obtained: Speak with the tavern keeper in Seafront after obtaining four of the fragments

Objective: Buy a knife from the Two Brother shop in the Junk Heap

Travel to the Junk Heap and speak with Gideon to learn they are out of knifes. He can make one for you, but only if you bring him 10 Titanium Alloy from the robots in the Junk Heap. Once you have all 10 return to Gideon to obtain the Elite Kitchen Knife. Bring this knife to the tavern keeper in Seafront.

Reward: 20000 G

 

A Shade Entombed

Obtained: Speak with a guard at Facade’s gate after obtaining all the fragments

Objective: Eliminate the bandits at Barren Temple

Travel to the Barren Temple to find a bandit near the entrance. Speak with him then enter the temple. Defeat the Shades inside following the conditions then work your way to the long narrow room in the northeastern part of the Barren Temple Hall that was previously sealed. Shades will spawn as you walk down the hallway and at the end you’ll fight a giant one. After you clear this room, interact with the bandit behind where the giant Shade was. You’ll then be teleported outside where you’ll have to defeat the bandit.

Reward: 20000 G

 

A Tale of the Study

Obtained: Speak with Devola at the tavern in your village then speak with the butler at Emil’s mansion

Objective: Investigate Shade in the study

The study is located near the save point in the mansion. Defeat the Shade within the study then speak with the butler.

Reward: 15000 G

 

Bon Appetit! 2

Obtained: Speak with the tavern keeper in Seafront

Objective: Collect 10 Giant Catfish and 10 Rice

You can purchase the rice from the Grocery Store in Seafront for 600 G. The Giant Catfish can be found by fishing in the Eastern Plains using a carp or lure. Unlike all the other fish you’ve caught, there is a trick to catching this one. When the bob goes down the first time, you must immediately reel in the fish. Once you collect the ingredients, return to the tavern keeper in Seafront to complete the quest.

Reward: 20000 G

 

Contract for a Contractor

Obtained: Speak with the man in your village near the pigs after the 5 year gap

Objective: Collect 1 memory alloy, 10 titanium alloys and 10 broken motors

The memory alloy, titanium alloys and broken motors are dropped from the robots in the Junk Heap. The memory alloy is specifically dropped from the large robot on B2. Once you collect the items, return to the man in your village near the pigs.

Reward: 30000 G

 

Disturbing the Sleep of Kings

Obtained: Speak with the King of Façade after completing A Shade Entombed quest

Objective: Clear all the Shades from the Barren Temple

Travel to the Barren Temple and head inside. You’ll have to work your way through each room defeating Shades while following the rules for each room. Once you clear all of the rooms in the hall, the back door will unlock. Pass through and defeat the Shades on the bridge. Afterwards, head through the door on the other end and down the stairs to find the last set of Shades. Defeating this last group will return you to the king thus completing the quest.

Reward: Labyrinth’s Song

 

Freesia

Obtained: Speak with the Devola at the tavern in your village then speak with the resident behind the weapon shop in Seafront

Objective: Deliver a freesia to Façade

Travel to Façade and head to the Material Shop near the palace to deliver the package. Return to the villager to complete the quest. The dialog choice is up to you.

Reward: 10000 G

 

Learning a Trade

Obtained: Speak with Devola in the tavern at your village then speak with the man sitting in a boat at the docks in Seafront

Objective: Buy a mandrake leaf from the Strange-Thing Store

Travel to the Strange-Thing Store in Façade then speak with the shopkeeper to obtain the mandrake leaf. Next, return to the man in the boat to receive 10000 G. Afterwards, travel to the Two Brothers Weaponry in the Junk Heap to receive Toad Oil. Return to the man in the boat to receive another 10000 G.

Reward: 20000 G

 

Life in the Sands

Obtained: Speak with the woman near the entrance in Facade after the 5 year gap

Objective: Obtain 10 pink moonflower seeds

In order to obtain the pink moonflower seeds, you’ll need to cross breed moonflowers in the garden next to your house. Purchase blue, gold and red moonflower seeds from the Grocery Store in Seafront. Afterwards, plant the seeds in the following order: blue, gold, blue, gold, blue. When they cross breed, you’ll receive indigo seeds. Please note that the flowers grow in real time. Once you plant the seeds, you must water them then wait an actual day for them to grow into flowers. Wait one more actual day for them to wilt. When they wilt, you’ll be able to harvest their seeds. Next, plant the seeds in the following order: indigo, red, indigo, red, indigo. This will give you pink seeds! When you get all 10 pink moonflower seeds, hand them over to the women in Facade.

Reward: 10000 G

 

Master of the Southern Plains

Obtained: Speak with the postman in Seafront after visiting the Lost Shrine

Objective: Defeat the large Shade in the Southern Plains

The large Shade comes out on cloudy days in the field near the entrance to the mansion in the Southern Plains. Defeat it then return to the postman to collect your reward.

Reward: 30000 G

 

Nightmares and Dust

Obtained: Speak with a gate guard in Facade after finding all the fragments

Objective: Investigate the missing people

Head into the sandstorm that leads to the Barren Temple. You will find a giant shade somewhere near the center of the sandstorm (for us it was a little south of the center). Defeat it then return to the guard for your reward.

Reward: 30000 G

 

Research Project

Obtained: Speak with Devola in the tavern at your village then speak with the butler at Emil’s mansion

Objective: Obtain the clue from the second basement floor of the manor’s underground facility

Head through the manor’s underground facility. When you get past the labyrinth section, you’ll reach an area with lots of sealed rooms. You’ll find the employee list on a desk in one of the rooms. Afterwards, make your way to Seafront. When you enter the town, head to the end of the path and take a left. Take another left and head down an alleyway bringing you to a set of stairs on the left. Follow the stairs to the top to reach a gate and examine it. After the cutscene, return to the mansion and speak with the butler.

Reward: Nothing

 

Search for the Shade

Obtained: Speak with the guard by the south entrance in your village after getting the Sacrifice fragment

Objective: Defeat the Shade near the river

Head to the spot on the river behind the broken structure near where the pigs are located in your village. Afterwards, return to the girl and speak with her then make your way to the entrance of the library. Next, head back to your village and speak with the guard near the southern entrance. When you’re done, speak with a woman near the guard. You will then need to travel to the market district and speak with the woman near the fountain. After speaking with everyone, talk to the girl again then make your way to the tree on the hill in the western part of your village to finally locate the Shade. Defeat it then return to the guard near the southern gate.

Reward: 5000 G

 

Shadows of the Desert

Obtained: Speak to the Masked Person near the boat dock in the desert after obtaining all the fragments

Objective: Check with the Masked Person

Speak to the Masked Person near the boat dock in the desert. Next you’ll need to enter Façade then exit it again. Head to the desert to find the Masked Person again. Speak with her then enter the city once more. Exit the city a second time to find the Masked Person outside the city gates. Speak with her one more time then fight the Shades that show up. Defeat them to complete the quest. This quest doesn’t show up until it completes.

Reward: 30000 G

 

Staying Afloat

Obtained: Speak with the man in the port at Seafront after the 5 year gap

Objective: Obtain 5 log, 20 dented metal board and 10 stripped bolt

The logs can be purchased from the Material Shop in your village for 500 G each. For the dented metal boards, destroy wooden crates in the Junk Heap. The stripped bolts are dropped from the robots in the Junk Heap. You can also purchase the dented metal boards and stripped bolts from the Two Brothers Weaponry Shop after it reopens during Part 2. Once you obtain all the items, return to the man at the port in Seafront.

Reward: 20000 G

 

The Creaky Waterwheel

Obtained: Speak with the woman near the Item Shop in your village after the 5 year gap

Objective: Repair the waterwheel

Travel to Facade’s Strange-Thing Store and speak with the shopkeeper. He will need you to gather 10 iron ore and 10 logs. The iron ore can be found on the Eastern Road. The logs can be purchased from the Material Shop in your village for 500 G each. Once you collect the items, return to the shopkeeper to hand them over. Next, head to the woman near the Item Shop in your village and speak with her.

Reward: 10000 G

 

The Damaged Map

Obtained: Speak with Devola in the tavern at your village then talk with the blacksmith at the Weapon Shop in your village

Objective: Find a treasure map

After speaking with the blacksmith, head to the library and inspect the bookshelf in the southeastern part of the second level. Next, travel to Facade and speak with the Strange-Thing Shopkeeper. He’ll need you to get 3 drops of machine oil, 3 eggplants and 3 goat hides. The drops of machine oil are dropped from robots in the Junk Heap. You can purchase eggplants at the Grocery Store in your village or The Aerie. The goat hides are dropped from goats in the Northern Plains or Eastern Road. Once you obtain the items, return to the blacksmith and speak with his wife. Next, travel to the library and speak with Popola who tells you that the map leads to the Lost Shrine. Make your way over to this shrine then head up to the 2nd floor. After you pass through the two giant cube puzzles, follow the hallway to end up in a big open area. In front of you is a doorway blocked by fallen debris just past an elevator shaft. Follow the walkway around then take the next right. Head through the door on the right to locate the Pile of Junk. Grab it then return to the blacksmith’s wife. Speak with her then head to the Strange-Thing Store in Facade to exchange the hair pin for an old gold coin. Bring the coin to the blacksmith in your village. He’ll give you the Marked Map. Bring this map to Popola who will tell you to go to the Northern Plains where the iron bridge starts. This is located in the northeastern part of the area near the Forsest of Myth. At the base of the bridge, interact with the shining object to obtain the spear, Labyrinth’s Shout.

The Despicable Man

Obtained: Speak with the woman sitting diagonally from the Weapon Shop in your village

Objective: Find young man wearing a golden necklace

Speak with the guard at the southern gate and one at the northern gate to find out that the man went to the Forest of Myth. Make your way there then speak with the male villager to learn Mr. Golden Necklace moved on to Seafront. Once there, speak with a lady near the fountain on the east side of town then a man sitting on a box above the Material Shop. Now head for the Junk Heap and speak to Gideon to learn more about this mystery man. Return to the client in your village and speak with her to complete the quest.

Reward: 15ooo G

 

The Faded Fountain

Obtained: Speak with the soldier standing next to the fountain in your village

Objective: Repair the fountain

Travel to the Strange-Thing Store in Facade and speak with the shopkeeper. He’ll need you to gather 10 broken motors and 10 severed cables to repair it. These items are dropped from the robots in Junk Heap. Once you collect the items, hand them over to the shopkeeper then return to the soldier and speak with him.

Reward: 20000 G

 

The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 6

Obtained: Speak with the fisherman in Seafront after the 5 year gap

Objective: Obtain 3 sandfish

This fish can be found by fishing in the sand next to the boat in the southern part of the desert using a lure. Unlike all the other fish you’ve caught, there is a trick to catching this one. When the bob goes down the first time, you must immediately reel in the fish. After you catch all 3 fish, return to the fisherman to hand them over.

Reward: Fishing skill increases

 

The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 7

Obtained: Speak with the fisherman in Seafront after completing The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 6

Objective: Obtain 3 royal fish

This fish can be found by fishing in the Eastern Plains using an earthworm. After you catch 3, return to the fisherman to hand them over.

Reward: Fishing skill increases

 

The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 8

Obtained: Speak with the fisherman in Seafront after completing The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 7

Objective: Obtain 2 blue marlin

The blue marlin can be found by fishing off the dock in Seafront using a sardine as bait. Once you catch both, return to the fisherman to hand them over.

Reward: Fishing skill increases

 

The Fisherman’s Final Gambit

Obtained: Speak with the fisherman in Seafront after completing The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 8

Objective: Catch 1 hyneria

The hyneria can be found by fishing near the boat in the desert using a sardine as bait. Once you catch it, return to where the fisherman was and speak with the man standing there.

Reward: Fishing skill increases

 

The Great Tree

Obtained: Speak with Devola at the tavern in your village after visiting the Lost Shrine then speak with the botanist next to the Item Shop in Seafront

Objective: Obtain a piece of root from the Lost Shrine’s great tree

Travel to the Lost Shrine and enter the first floor to find the roots of the tree in the center of the room. Interact with the root to spawn some Shades that you’ll need to defeat. Collect the root then return to the man next to the Item Shop in Seafront.

Reward: 20000 G

 

The King’s Mask

Obtained: Speak with the guard in front of the palace in Facade after the 5 year gap

Objective: Collect 1 titanium alloy and 1 crystal

The titanium alloy is dropped from the robots in the Junk Heap, and the crystal can be purchased from the Material Shop in Facade for 2400 G. Once you obtain the items, return to the guard to hand them over.

Reward: 10000 G

 

The Magical Stone

Obtained: Speak with the woman near then entrance to the Forest of Myth

Objective: Find the magical stone used in fortune-telling

Travel to the library in your village and speak with Popola then head for the Lost Shrine. Make your way to the roof of the shrine and locate the 1st movable cube on the right side of the roof after exiting the ramp. You want to pull it back around the the corner of the broken structure near the boarded up door. Then use that to reach the other side and make your way along a higher section of the roof to reach a giant Shade. Defeat it to obtain the Eye of Power, then return to the lady in the Forest of Myth to hand it over. Agree to the free reading then head to the back of the store in the dream. Break the wooden box to find the Iron Pipe the fight off the horde of Shades to complete the quest.

Reward: 10000 G

 

The Masterless Lighthouse

Obtained: Speak with Devola in the tavern at your village after the 5 year gap then speak with the man near the lighthouse in Seafront

Objective: Obtain 10 broken lenses, 10 broken batteries and 10 mysterious switches

All the items are dropped from the robots in the Junk Heap.

Reward: 30000 G

 

The Promised Gift

Obtained: Speak with the Red Bag Man in the village after visiting the Lost Shrine in Part II

Objective: Obtain a red jewel

Travel to Facade and speak with the shopkeeper at the Strange-Thing Store.  Afterwards, make your way to the boat in the desert to return with the Red Bag Man to Seafront. When you arrive in Seafront, head to the Red Bag Man’s house near the Item Shop and speak with the wife to trigger a cutscene.

Reward: 3000 G

 

The Scattered Cargo

Obtained: Speak with Devola in the tavern at your village after the 5 year gap then speak with the woman under a tree in Seafront

Objective: Recover the lost cargo

The first Drifting Cargo washed up in your village. Drifting Cargo 2 can be found on the western beach in Seafront. The third and last Drifting Cargo can be found in the Northern Plains under the bridge leading to the Junk Heap. Once you pick up the third crate, you’ll have the option to return the items to the woman or report her to the authorities (if you peaked inside all 3 boxes). If you choose to return them to the woman, you’ll receive 20000 G plus new items will be added to the Item Shop in Seafront (click here for list of items). If you report her to the authorities, you’ll need to speak with the guard in Seafront. They’ll lock her up, and you can collect her bounty of 50000 G from the postman in Seafront.

The Shade Army

Obtained: Speak with Gideon at Two Brothers Weaponry in the Junk Heap

Objective: Collect 5 broken batteries and 5 broken motors

The broken batteries and broken motors are dropped from robots in the Junk Heap. Once you collect them, return to Gideon to hand them over. Afterwards, head to Junk Heap: 1F and make your way to Elevator B on the southwest side of the first floor. Take this elevator to the second floor then defeat all the Shades on the level. When you’re done, return to Gideon and speak with him.

Reward: 30000 G

 

The Strange Fate of the Jewel

Obtained: Speak with Devola in the tavern at your village after the 5 year gap then speak with a woman at the port in Seafront

Objective: Find the Mermaid Tear treasure

Speak with the woman sitting near the fountain in Seafront to learn that the Lighthouse Lady knew about the treasure. Head to the lighthouse and inspect the letters on the barrel on the first floor. Afterwards, make your way to the post office and speak with the postman. You’ll then need to head to the back room of the post office and move the boxes around to reach the room in the back. Inspect the desk to receive the Mermaid Tear. Speak with the postman. You’ll have 3 options on what to do with the treasure:

  • Bury the jewel in memory of the woman
    • You’ll have to report back to the woman at the port in Seafront to complete the quest. You’ll receive nothing.
  • Give it to the client
    • You’ll have to report back to the woman at the port in Seafront to complete the quest. You’ll receive 10000 G.
  • Sell it
    • Receive 10000 G and quest completes

Reward: See above

 

Thieves in Training

Obtained: Speak with the item shopkeeper in your village after the 5 year gap

Objective: Find the thieves

Speak with a guard standing next to the fountain in the market district. Next speak with a villager sitting in a stall diagonally from the Material Shop. Lastly, speak with a guard near the Weapon Shop. Afterwards, head to the waterwheel on the east side of the market district and speak with the two brothers. Make your way to the tavern to speak with the boys’ father. Return to the item shopkeeper to explain the situation.

Reward: 3000 G
