1 Star Subquests MHS2

Bothersome Blue Shadows

Obtained: Quest Board

Objective: Defeat Velociprey x6

To complete the Bothersome Blue Shadows subquest, you will need to defeat 6 Velociprey (blue raptors). They are commonly found around Hakolo Island.

Rewards: Potion, 800 Z and 20 EXP

Bug Off and Let Me Fish!

Obtained: Speak with the Focused Woman fishing in the center of Mahana Village

Objective: Defeat Bnahabra (Blue) x5

During the Bug Off and Let Me Fish! subquest. you’ll be tasked with defeating 5 Bnahabra. The monster can be found in North Hakolo Island or in dens. There is usually a pack hanging out near the gates leading to Guardian Ratha in the north.

Rewards: Carpenterbug, 1500 Z and 20 EXP

Co-Op Call: Pukei-Pukei

Obtained: Quest Board after you defeat your first Pukei-Pukei

Objective: Slay Pukei-Pukei x1

The Co-Op Call: Pukei-Pukei subquest has you slaying a Pukei-Pukei. You can find the monster in North Kamuna Forest, North Kamuna Everden, North Hakolo Island, and Monster Dens. Pukei-Pukei is weak to Slash (Greatsword or Sword and Shield). Target their tail first to weaken them. Pukei-Pukei favors technical attacks, so use power attacks of your own against them. After they eat (Munch Time or Crunch Time), they will use a power attack, so use speed to beat them at that point. As long as their face is red like they are enraged, they will continue to use Power Attacks.

Rewards: Antidote, 1500 Z and 20 EXP

Delicious Donuts

Obtained: Quest Board

Objective: Deliver Woemill Wheat x3 and Hakolo Honey x3

To complete the Delicious Donuts subquest, you’ll need to collect 3 Woemill Wheat and 3 Hakolo Honey. Both items can be found on Hakolo Island with the Woemill Wheat coming from red herb gathering spots, while Hakolo Honey has a chance to spawn from honeycomb gathering spots.

Rewards: Taste of Home Combo Recipe, Mahana Dunker x3, 13000 Z and 20 EXP

En-egg-matic Eggs 1

Obtained: Speak with the Watchful Old Man on the cliff in the north of Mahana Village past the stables

Objective: Deliver an Herbivore genus egg

For the En-egg-matic Eggs 1 subquest, you’ll need to obtain a Herbivore genus egg and deliver it to the Watchful Old Man. The egg can be found in Monster Dens around Hakolo Island. Aptonoth are the only herbivores you can find at this point. Their eggs are green with grey horizontal ovals around the shell. Egg picking is RNG unless you force a monster to retreat to its den.

Rewards: Healer’s Comp V.2 Combo Recipe, Burn Ointment x2, 1000 Z and 20 EXP

En-egg-matic Eggs 2

Obtained: Speak with Watchful Old Man on the cliff in the north of Mahana Village past the stables after defeating Pukei-Pukei

Objective: Deliver a Bird Wyvern genus egg

The Bird Wyvern genus egg can be found in Monster Dens around Hakolo Island. You can grab any one of the following eggs for it to count:

  • Velocidrome – Blue with red spots
  • Kulu-Ya-Ku – White with red spots
  • Yian Kut-Ku – Pink with blue spots
  • Pukei-Pukei – Green with white spots

Rewards: Bottle Cap x3, 1500 Z and 20 EXP

Good Ol’ Bag of Bones

Obtained: Speak with Friendly Man standing on the ship at the dock south of Mahana Village

Objective: Equip a bone sword and shield

The item to forge is Bone Kris. It requires 3 points.

  • Monster Bone S – 1 point
  • Monster Bone M – 3 points
  • Monster Bone L – 10 points

Once forged, make sure to equip it the speak with the Friendly Man.

Rewards: S&S: Counter Skill Book, 2000 Z and 20 EXP

Hakolo Commodities

Obtained: Quest Board

Objective: Deliver Mahana Commodities x10 points

Mahana Commodities can be obtained from gather points around Hakolo Island. Listen for a shimmer sound when approaching the gather points as these have either commodities or rare materials. Mahana Commodities are either Unique Mushroom (1 point), Mixed Honey (3 points) or King Truffles (5 points). You can ignore grass, bone or mining gather points for this quest.

Rewards: Stone x2, 500 Z and 20 EXP

(Hard) Rider’s Challenge

Obtained: Quest Board after defeating Pukei-Pukei

Objective: Slay the Blue Menace

The Blue Menance is the Velocidrome, which can be found at Silver Subquest Den near the Catavan Stand at North Kamuna Cape during the afternoon/day. While just a Velocidrome, this is your first elite/named enemy. It will have more HP and hit harder. To beat it, use a technical Monstie and Technical attacks to beat its speed patterns. Once it enrages (face turns reddish), start using speed to beat its Power Attacks until it falls or calms down.

Rewards: Screamer Sac x4, Wyvern Barbs x2, 2100 Z and 20 EXP

Legendary Sculptor

Obtained: Speak with the Positive Woman in Mahana Village

Objective: Find out about the Sculptor

Speak to the following people:

  • Informed Rider near the Quest Board in Mahana Village
  • Stubborn Old Woman just past the smithy in Mahana Village
  • Gossipy Woman in the eastern part of Rutoh Village
  • Nostalgic Old Woman in the center part of Rutoh Village near the fountain

Afterwards, deliver the statue given to you by the Nostalgic Woman to the Positive Woman in Mahana Village.

Rewards: Bottle Cap x5, 2300 Z and 30 EXP

Mystic Midnight Mushrooms

Obtained: Speak with Timid Boy standing at the base of the stairs leading to Chief Gara’s Hut in Mahana Village

Objective: Deliver Duskshroom x5

The Dushshrooms can be obtained from red mushroom gather points around Hakolo Island at night. They should have a shimmer sound when you approach them.

Rarities of Hakolo Island

The gather points can be found all around Hakolo Island. Listen for a shimmer sound when approaching the gather points. Mahana Rarities are either Snakebee Larva (1 point), Silver Cricket (2 points) or Goldenfry (5 points).

Rider 101: Combining

Objective: Combine enough items x15

The combine option can be found in the Camp Menu (X button). This can take some time with your luck gathering. Crafting Potions is probably the easiest way to achieve this. This means you would be required to have 15 Herbs and 15 Blue Mushrooms!

Head-to-Heads can hapen during any combat around the world. This one can be frustrating and takes awhile to complete. You can win at the faceoffs using the following strategies:

  • Aptonoth – Use speed to beat its power
  • Larinoth – Use power to beat its technique
  • Kelbi – You can’t fight Bambi, silly… What are you? A monster? 🙂
  • Velociprey – Use technique to beat its speed
  • Velocidrome – Use technique to beat its speed. When enraged (red face) use speed to beat its power. Keep using speed to beat its power until it falls or calms down.
  • Kulu-Ya-Ku – User power to beat its technique. When it holds a rock, use speed to beat its power.
  • Bnahabra – Use power to beat its technique
  • Konchu – Use power to beat its technique
  • Yian Kut-Ku – Use power to beat its technique
  • Bullfango – Use speed to beat its power
  • Bulldrome – Use speed to beat its power
  • Pukei-Pukei – Use power to beat its technique. After it uses either Munch Time or Crunch Time, use speed to beat its incoming Power Attacks. Keep using speed to beat its power as long as its face is red.

Objective: Slay Konchu (Yellow) x6

Konchu (Yellow) can be found on Hakolo Island. If you hug the coast and go under the North Kamuna Cape, there should be a small group of Konchu. Otherwise, Konchu can be found all over and frequently appear as adds in Yian Kut-Ku fights.

Rewards: Insect Husk x2, 1200 Z and 20 EXP

Shake That Soot

Obtained: Quest Board

Objective: Deliver Herb x9 and Stone x3

The Herb and Stone can be collected from gather points on Hakolo Island. Herbs are basic grass gather points and Stone can be obtained from the Hakolo Commodities quest, Rider 101: Dens quest, mining points or Kelbi shining items.

Rewards: Group Healing 101 Combo Recipe, Lifesoot x3, 1500 Z and 20 EXP

Stone Collector

Obtained: Quest Board

Objective: Deliver Stone x10

The stone can be found around Hakolo Island. Stone can be obtained from doing the Hakolo Commodities quest or Rider 101: Dens quest. When scaring Kelbi away, their shiny items will occasionally be stones.

Objective: Deliver Raw Meat x6

Raw Meat can be obtained from Aptonoth (grey, docile monsters that run from you) or Larinoth (yellow, long-necked monsters eating leaves from trees) around Hakolo Island.

The Catalyst

You’ll automatically obtain The Catalyst quest after completing the A Satisfied Conscience quest!

The Catalyst Objectives

Report to Brotherhood leadership

Travel to Fort Atlas and approach the trio on the 2nd floor. Speak with Knight Shin to trigger a dialog event.

Enter the West Tek Research Center

Travel to West Tek Research Center in the southeastern part of the map. Be mindful of all the Super Mutants then enter the building marked by the objective.

Gain access to the West Tek Research Wing

Once inside, follow the objective to the first level. You’ll eventually come to a sealed door. Interact with the terminal next to the door. It will tell you that the code is upstairs. Head up the nearby stairs and around the level to reach another set of stairs leading up. When you reach the room at the top, be wary of the Super Mutant welding a rocket launcher and his hound inside. After you clear them out, interact with the Control Room Terminal and select “Remote Door Control” then “Open Door”. Head back downstairs towards the objective. Take the West Tek Research Wing Access Code holotape from the table next to the hazmat suit.

Access Dr. Blackburn’s West Tek laboratory

Exit the room and head towards the objective. You’ll come to a sealed door with a terminal next to it on the wall. Unlock the terminal then use it to open the door. Head straight ahead until you come to the end of the room. Swing right past the fallen roof then proceed until you reach the door with the FEV Production sign next to it. Activate the call button under the sign then head inside the elevator and select the FEV Production Facility.

Defeat the Mercenaries

Head through the white doors and kill the mercenary inside. Proceed through the next set of white doors and kill the 3 that are waiting in there.

Regroup with the Brotherhood

Knight Shin and the Brotherhood will appear in this room near the 3 green tubes. Speak with Knight Shin.

Speak to Dr. Blackburn’s research associates

Follow the Brotherhood through the nearby door and down the stairs. Approach the Brotherhood near the glass to trigger a cutscene. You won’t be able to stop him from going in no matter what you do so select any options you’d like.

Drop through the hatch

Follow the objective to the red lit hole in the ground then drop through it.

Witness the experiment

Look at the giant cylinder in the middle of the room.

Defeat Dr. Blackburn

Kill him!!

Gain access to the scientists’ viewing chamber

Head to where the Brotherhood is waiting in the room then interact with the intercom next to the door.

 Unlock the viewing chamber door terminal

Interact with the terminal next to the door and open it! It doesn’t require any skill.

Deal with Dr. Blackburn’s research associates

Head inside the newly opened door and speak with Dr. Farha. Paladin Rahmani won’t let you kill them, so select whatever option you’d like. Afterwards, you’ll need to speak to everyone there and come to a decision about whether to side with Knight Shin or Paladin Rahmani. If you side with Knight Shin you’ll have the option of killing Paladin Rahmani. You’ll also need to make the choice about killing the 3 scientists. Rahmani and the scientists don’t have anything worth wild on them to loot. It’s completely up to you what you want to do on this one. The ending to the quest will essentially be the same. Knight Shin will stay if you side with him and Paladin Rahmani will stay if you side with her.

Regroup at Fort Atlas

Travel to Fort Atlas and head inside.

Step up to accept the Knight Errant title

Speak with Knight Shin/Paladin Rahmani. The ending is the same it just depends on who you sided with for who will give you the title. You can also then speak with Scribe Valdez and/or the residents of Fort Atlas before speaking with Knight Shin/Paladin Rahmani again.

Fallout 76 – A Satisfied Conscience

You’ll automatically obtain the A Satisfied Conscience quest after completing the Out of the Blue quest!

A Satisfied Conscience Objectives

Meet with Paladin Rahmani at Fort Atlas

At the start of A Satisfied Conscience, head to Fort Atlas and speak with Paladin Rahmani.

Go to Vault 96

Travel south of Foundation to find Vault 96.

Enter Vault 96

Interact with the giant vault door to enter.

Speak to the survivor

Head forward and down the stairs to find Woods sitting on the ground. Speak with her.

Signal Valdez from the terminal

Head back upstairs and interact with one of the 4 terminals. Select “Active Emergency Transponder”.

Speak to Valdez

Exit the terminal and speak with Valdez.

Head deeper into the Vault

Make your way back down the stairs and interact with the Vault 96 Entrance Terminal near the door. Try to open the door (you’ll fail).

Wait for Valdez to open the door

Just wait!

Search the Vault for clues

Head down to the Atrium.

Clear out the Blood Eagles

Defeat all the enemies in the Atrium.

Search the Mainframe Wing for clues

Head west to find the Mainframe Chamber. Interact with the Quantum Research Lab Terminal (be mindful of the turret). Retrieve the paper called Vault 96 from the blue desk. Listen to the FEV Research Log #22 holotape on the small red surface.

(Optional) Short-circuit the terminal fusebox

Interact with the fusebox next to the door to short-circuit it.

Open the Reactor Wing

Open the door via the above fusebox.

Search the Reactor Wing for clues

Read Breakthrough on a desk on the upper level. On the lower level, listen to the holotape.

Open the Cryonics Wing

Approach the door to trigger a dialog scene.

Defeat the attacking robots

Tally will open the door. Defeat the robots that spawn inside!

Speak to Tally Lang

Go ahead and speak with her!

Search the Cryonics Bay for clues

Grab the FEV Research Log #57 holotape from a table underneath an X-Ray, the “Reminder: Supplies” paper on a gurney and “Corpse Disposal” paper from a table.

Open the Research Wing

Activate the Security Card Reader next to the door underneath the Research Wing sign.

Search the Research Wing for clues

Play the FEV Research Log #112 holotape on the table next to a corpse and microscope. Use the Research Terminal in the Imaging Lab and read “Snallygaster” on the table near the prisoners.

Locate the prisoners

Approach the glass between you and the prisoner to trigger a dialog event.

Unlock the test chambers

Use the terminal on the other side of the room called Biology Workstation and select “Test Chamber Access”.

Speak to Cassie Halloway

Go ahead and speak with her! You’ll need to head back to where she was and open the sliding door to get inside.

Open the Overseer’s Office

Follow the objective to the Overseer’s Office and try using the Security Card Reader to open the door. It will fail but that’s ok!

Speak to Valdez

Turn around and speak with her.

Disable the hydraulics in the Utility Room

Head east to find Utility Room 1 and enter it. Activate the Hydraulic Controller straight ahead.

Confront Dr. Blackburn

Head back to the Overseer’s Office and head inside to speak with Dr. Blackburn to complete the A Satisfied Conscience quest. Afterwards, The Catalyst quest will start!

Out of the Blue Objectives

Talk to Paladin Rahmani about other missing people

After beginning the Out of the Blue quest, speak with Paladin Rahmani at Fort Atlas.

Meet Rahmani at the Blue Ridge Caravan Company’s office

Travel to Hornwright Estate in the south then follow the objective north to find Big Bend Tunnel West. Enter the Blue Ridge Office and speak with Rahmani.

Sit at the bar

Look at the stool and sit.

Go to Joanna Mayfield’s office

Head upstairs and approach the objective.

Go to the Harpers Ferry Train Tunnel

Travel northeast to Harpers Ferry Tunnel, which is east of Harpers Ferry, and enter it.

Meet up with Paladin Rahmani

Speak with her inside.

Find Aries

Head into the tunnel until you come to a double door. Open it and speak to Aries.

Head further into the tunnel

Continue making your way through the area until you reach a large room with enemies. Defeat them all!

Talk to Aries

Speak with him.

Find a way to get through the strangler vines

Head up the stairs and follow the objective to find a lab room.

Gain access to the lab room

Read the Reminder About Password paper to the left of the locked door. Follow the next objective to the corner desk to read the It Work Order. Next, read the Open Sesame Seed on a desk across the room. The passwords for the inputs to the left of the door are as follows:

  • 12-11-22-13
  • 8-22-8-26-14-22
  • 8-22-22-23

1-26 are the letters of the alphabet with 1 being Z and 26 being A. You’ll need to spell out OPEN SESEME SEED. After imputing the passwords, press the red button to open the door.

Find an access point for the water system

Head to the next area.

Talk to Paladin Rahmani to start the installation

Speak with her in the corner.

Defense Paladin Rahmani

Defeat the waves of Scorched!

Destroy the strangler vines blocking the pump room

Return to the room with Aries and use your weapon to destroy the vines. Keep pressing forward, destroying the vines as you go.

Disable the lock-down

Interact with the Pump Safety Console and select “Verify Pump Integrity”.

Destroy the hostile robot

Defeat the Assaultron with a sheep head. Be mindful that this is a difficult enemy!

Disable the lock-down

Interact with the console once more to disable it.

Talk to Aries

Head back and speak with Aries.

Go to the caravan site

Press forward through the newly opened door.

Investigate the 3 caravan sites

Read the Caravan Manifest on the shelving unit, Cassie’s Journal in the tunnel and Damn Radstorms! on a small table next to a lantern.

Give evidence to Paladin Rahmani

Speak with the Paladin to hand over the evidence.

Wait for Paladin Rahmani to review the evidence

Just wait!

Talk to Paladin Rahmani

Speak with her. For why they were camping in the first place select “A radstorm forced them to stay here overnight. They were vulnerable.” For how they went missing, select “A group of armed strangers showed up”. For the names on the manifest, select “Dr. Blackburn”. For why Dr. Blackburn had been seeking our assistance, select “He was seeking assistance with experiments to “help humanity”. Ending the conversation will complete the Out of the Blue quest! Next, the A Satisfied Conscience quest will begin!

Missing Persons Objectives

Speak to Scribe Valdez

At the start of the Missing Persons quest, speak with her in Fort Atlas.

Speak to Max

Speak with Maximo Leone in the kitchen, which is in the basement of Fort Atlas.

Speak to Initiate Ramirez

Head upstairs and speak with Initiate Ramirez in the large room with a cylinder in the middle on the main level.

Retrieve Marcia from the Raiders

Travel north of The Crater to enter The Crater War Room and speak with Pierce. If your Perception is high enough, Marcia will tell you where Sheena and Burke went. You’ll need to agree to help Marcia at AMS.

Meet Marcia at AMS Headquarters

Travel to Watoga in the far southeastern part of the map and follow the objective to AMS. Press the Call Button near the door then enter the elevator to go in.

Help Marcia defeat the Mercenary

Kill the guy!

Speak to Marcia

Talk with her.

Go to the third floor

Follow the objective to enter the third floor.

Clear the enemies

Defeat the robots and Hellcats inside.

Find clues to where the Raiders are

Follow the objective to a Dove Necklace and examine it.

Speak with Marcia

Talk to her to find out about the necklace.

Find clues to where the Raiders are

Head upstairs to find a Raider corpse just before some double doors and examine it.

Speak with Marcia

Talk to her to learn more about the Raider.

Find clues to where the Raiders are

Follow the walkway around and go up the stairs to reach a Hastily Written Note on the ground. Read it!

Speak with Marcia

Talk to her.

Find clues to where the Raiders are

Press forward up the stairs to continue heading through AMS. To open the double doors in the next room, use the nearby Facilities Terminal at the desk and select “Hellcat Eyes Only” then “Open Door”.

Find Kit

Proceed through the door and head up to the top floor towards the objective.

Clear the enemies

Defeat all the waves of enemies that spawn!

Kill Kit

Once you kill all the robots and Hellcats, Kit will come out. Please note that he’s a tough boss as he is wearing Power Armor!

Search Kit’s body

Loot the Blue Ridge Delivers Again from his body.

Speak to Marcia

Talk with her.

Look for the Key

Head into the room Kit was locked in and search the desks in the back with the computers on them to find the AMS Basement Key.

Go down to the lobby

Use the elevator on the west side of the room to return to the lobby.

Find the Raiders

Once in the lobby, use the basement key to unlock the door to your right after exiting the elevator.

Kill the guards

Take out the guards in the basement.

Speak to Sheena and Burke

Head into the cell room to find Sheena and Burke. You have the option of freeing them or not. If you free them, they’ll thank you but if you don’t, they’ll tell you to f*** off.

(Optional) Retrieve the Research Notes holotape

Collect the holotape on the desk behind Marcia.

Convince Marcia to return to the Brotherhood of Steel or convince Marcia to stay with the Raiders

Marcia will be happy either way. If you convince Marcia to return to the Brotherhood, Scribe Valdez will be happy you completed the mission. If not, she’ll remark that you failed your mission. There are no real consequences either way.

Return to Scribe Valdez

Head back to Fort Atlas and speak with her to complete the Missing Persons quest. Afterwards, the Out of the Blue quest will trigger!

Check in with Russell Dorsey

Travel to Fort Atlas and speak with Russell Dorsey near the entrance.

Report to Paladin Rahmani and Knight Shin

Head inside Fort Atlas and speak with them.

Speak to Initial Hewsen and Norland

Hewsen can be found downstairs in the kitchen and Norland can be found in the barracks (where the bunk beds are).

Report to the Uncanny Caverns

Head to the Uncanny Caverns, which is slightly northeast of Lewisburg. Drop down into the ravine near the large building to enter the cavern. Once inside, speak with Knight Shin.

Follow Knight Shin

Follow Knight Shin down the stairs near the Uncanny Caverns sign. A mirelurk will spawn… kill it!

Speak to Knight Shin

Talk with him.

Head further inside the Caverns

Proceed towards Station 1.

Follow Knight Shin

Follow him along the path until you come across some floaters near Station 4. Defeat them!

Speak with Knight Shin

Talk to him.

Search for a way through x2

Examine the rockslide near Station 5 and the crevice in the rock wall east of Station 3.

Report to Knight Shin

Head back and speak with him to share the news!

Find a way to clear the path

Loot the shovel to the right of the cave in near a red toolbox. If you choose the Strength and Luck options, all the rocks will fall and you’ll be able to get through.

Eliminate the Super Mutants

Defeat the Super Mutants that rush you!

Speak to Knight Shin

Talk with him.

Follow Knight Shin

Follow him along the path until he kneels.

Speak to Knight Shin

Speak with him near the corpse.

Search for a trail

Head to Station 8 to find a hidden crevice near a campfire and green steamer trunk.

Enter the hidden crevice

Squeeze through the hole in the rock wall.

Follow Knight Shin

Follow him into mutant territory.

Eliminate the Super Mutants

Defeat all the enemies.

Speak to Knight Shin

Talk with him!

Search for information on the Super Mutants

Investigate the Damaged Pip-Boy on the arm of a corpse north of Knight Shin at the dead end.

Bring the Pip-Boy to Knight Shin

Return to Knight Shin and speak with him.

Bring the Pip-Boy to Scribe Valdez

Return to Fort Atlas and speak with Scribe Valdez to complete the A Knight’s Penance request. Afterwards, the Missing Persons quest will trigger!
