Below is a walkthrough for the Lean Times in Colony 9 standard quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. To obtain this quest, listen in on the conversations around Colony 9. Afterwards, head to the rest spot and discuss Colony 9 Shortages.
Fast travel to the Gura Flava Camp in the western part of the region then make your way to the objective’s search area. There are 5 magnifying glasses on the mini map that will lead you to purple orbs on the ground. Retrieve all the orbs to gather the rations. Once the rations have been gathered, travel to Torchlight Hill, which is northwest of Colony 9. After you pick up enough orbs here to satisfy the objective, return to Colony 9 and speak with Camilla to complete the quest.
