A Thread to the Future Subquest Guide: Beyond the Dawn

How to Start the A Thread to the Future Subquest

A Thread to the Future Subquest Map Location

To initiate the subquest “A Thread to the Future,” you need to first begin the main quest “For Whom.” Once you have done that, proceed to Cysloden in Cyslodia and then make your way to Bregon’s Hide (which can be accessed from the Alley if you haven’t visited it yet). Upon arrival, speak with the member of the Silver Swords who is located in front of the storage shelf on the same wall as the entrance.

  • Speak with the Silver Swords member
  • Acquire 5x Dark Mane
  • Deliver the materials to the Silver Swords member

Speak with the Silver Swords Member

Speak with the member of the Silver Swords to discover that she requires more thread. Now that things are a bit calmer after recent events, she has chosen to utilize her embroidery skill to design patterns on clothes in an effort to encourage the arts and crafts in the area. To assist her with this endeavor, Law and Rinwell have volunteered to gather the necessary materials.

Acquire 5x Dark Mane

To help out our Silver Swords friend, you’ll need to gather 5 Dark Manes. These can be obtained by defeating the Rampage Wolves located at the Iglia Wates in Calaglia. Alternatively you can purchase these from the Inn Shop or Shopkeeper for 8100 gald each.

Deliver the Materials to the Silver Swords Member

After obtaining all the necessary materials, make your way back to Bregon’s Hideout. Talk to the Silver Swords member and give her the items to successfully finish the subquest.

To start the Seeking the Ideal Waterfront subquest, you’ll first need to start the For Whom main quest. After doing that, go to Viscint in Menancia and then walk down the road toward the Towards Niez map transition. Talk to the little girl about halfway down that road.

Listen to the Troubled Child’s Story

Speak with the girl who will ask Kisara if she’s ever seen a fish swimming in the water. Alphen will then bring up her dream of building a fishing pond, suggesting now’s a good time to scout out the perfect location.

Seeking the Ideal Waterfront Subquest Viscint Map Location

Go to Viscint (you’re probably there already) and head to the west side of the town past the Inn. Talk to Drashin to start a quick event that makes Kisara think that Viscint isn’t a good place for the pond.

Scout Possible Locations for a Fishing Pond in Messia 224

Seeking the Ideal Waterfront Subquest Messia 224 Map Location

The next potential pond location is Messia 224 in Cyslodia. When you arrive, go south from the campfire and talk to two men who are arguing near the path. This will start another event where the pair decide that this location isn’t suitable either.

Scout Possible Locations for a Fishing Pond in Ulzebek

To reach the final stop on the pond location journey, go to Ulzebek in Calaglia. When you arrive, go to the southeastern corner of the village (south of the Crimson Crow’s HQ) and talk to the man in front of the makeshift garden beds. Although it’s a nice spot, it might be too tempting for people to swim in the hot sun instead of just using it to fish.

Seeking the Ideal Waterfront Subquest Pharia Ranch Map Location

If you thought you had finished searching for a good fishing spot, think again! Head to Pharia Ranch in Menancia and talk to Bogdel. This will start a cutscene and finish the subquest.

How to Start the In Pursuit of the Traveling Book Subquest

In Pursuit of the Traveling Book Subquest Map Location

To start the In Pursuit of the Traveling Book subquest, you must begin the One’s Own Master main quest and proceed to the Go to Niez objective. Once you’ve done that, travel to the Library at Autelina Palce in Menancia and speak with the librarian on the north side of the room.

  • Speak to the librarian
  • Visit the street vendor in Viscint
  • Search for the street vendor in Cysloden
  • Search for the Ulzebek peddler
  • Search for the book in Rudhir Forest
  • Return the book to the librarian

Speak to the Librarian

Speak to the librarian to learn that she has misplaced a book. As a way to pay back the Library, Rinwell volunteers to help her look for it.

Visit the Street Vendor in Viscint

In Pursuit of the Traveling Book Subquest Viscint Street Vendor Map Location

Exit the palace to Viscint then speak with the vendor between the Fast Travel point and the Inn. He’ll tell the group that he sold the book to another street vendor heading for Cysloden.

Travel to Cysloden in Cyslodia. After you arrive, head for the Central Plaza then make your way to the southwestern side. You’ll find the street vendor in the back there next to a pair of wagons. Speak with him to get an update on the book sending you to Ulzebek.

Search for the Ulzebek Peddler

In Pursuit of the Traveling Book Subquest Ulzebek Peddler Map Location

Once more! Set out for Ulzebek in Calaglia. Speak with the peddler who can be found next to the Inn who will tell you that he dropped the book in a zeugle attack when passing through Rudhir Forest. Onward!

Search for the Book in Rudhir Forest

In Pursuit of the Traveling Book Subquest Book Map Location

Make your way to the Rudhir Forest in Cyslodia (from the Nevira Snowplains) the follow the path south. When you reach the bridge, take a left heading east down a side path. This will bring you to a group of zeugles you’ll have to fight consisting of 2 level 76 Manhunt Hawks, a level 75 Roper, a level 75 Alpha Ice Wolf and a level 73 Ice Wolf. After defeating them a cutscene will trigger and you’ll finally collect the book!

Return the Book to the Librarian

Head back to the Autelina Palace Library in Menancia. Speak with the librarian to hand over the book completing the subquest (YAY!).

How to Start the Beyond the Visage Subquest

To start the Beyond the Visage subquest, you must begin the One’s Own Master main quest and proceed to the Go to Niez objective. Once you’ve done that, travel to Viscint in Menancia and speak with the Dahnan boy talking with one of the guards near the palace.

  • Track down the missing girl

Speak to the Service Corps Solider

Speak with the soldier and Dahnan boy to learn that the boy’s sister is missing. Without missing a beat, Kisara will offer to help look for her.

Beyond the Visage Subquest Question Residents Map Location

Head for the western part of town near the Traslida Highway entrance to find an elderly man there. Speak with him to trigger a cutscene and to receive your next objective.

Track Down the Missing Girl

Set out for Traslida Highway (you know, a couple more steps to the west) then travel to the campfire on the west side of the area. From there, you’ll spot a couple of zeugles in an objective area on the southwestern side of the camp. Approach them to trigger a cutscene leading to a fight against a level 74 Destructive Boar, level 75 Bandit Shellshocker and level 68 Boomy. As you defeat enemies, more will show up for several waves. Once you’ve dispatched them all, a cutscene will trigger and the quest will complete.

How to Start the Even If I’m Not a Hero Subquest

To start the Even If I’m Not a Hero subquest, you must begin the One’s Own Master main quest and progress to the Go to Niez objective. In addition to that, you’ll also need to complete the A Donut-Fuled Town Revitalization subquest and maybe Shionne’s Where an Unforeseen Encounter Leads character subquest. Once you’ve done those things, travel to Ulzebek in Calaglia then head to the area in front of the Inn to trigger a cutscene between Alphen and Shionne.

  • Talk to Shionne about the equipment
  • Talk to Doc
  • Acquire 3x Titanium Vambrace
  • Deliver the materials to Doc
  • Talk to Tigrina
  • Give Doc the book you borrowed

Head to Doc’s tent in the center of town then speak with him.

Acquire 3x Titanium Vambrace

Even If I'm Not a Hero Subquest Sweeper Ape Image

To find 3 Titanium Vambraces, you’ll need to travel to the Mausoleum of the Ruins: Helgal-Ryugola 238 and defeat Sweeper Ape there. They drop the item that you seek.

Deliver the Materials to Doc

When you have all 3 of the Titanium Vambraces, bring them to Doc in Ulzebek and then speak with him to hand them over. He’ll then mention wanting to learn more about growing herbs. Alphen will offer to help giving you your next objective.

Talk to Tigrina

Travel to Autelina Palace in Menancia and head to the Library via floor 1F. Speak with Tigrina there to get the book.

Give Doc the Book You Borrowed

Go back to Ulzebek in Calaglia to deliver the book to Doc. This will complete the subquest and you’ll receive Sodeil Arthalys, Gahm Arthalys, Bright Angelica and L’Aze Phiarquis: Alphen and Shionne’s Sovereign and Maiden gear.

  • Defeat the zeugles in the Iglia Wastes

Talk to Kohl

Speak with Kohl and he’ll you about how zeugles are threatening the supply route of the doughnuts. Shionne will not stand for this! Afterwards, set out for the Iglia Wastes.

Defeat the Zeugles in the Iglia Wastes

A Donut-Fueled Town Revitalization Subquest Zeugles Map Location

Once you’ve reached the Iglia Wastes, follow the path north a shortways then look for the small building on the right. The group of zeugles will be just beyond that. Approach them to begin the battle against 1 level 77 Rampage Wolf, 1 level 75 Rokmadilo and 2 level 73 Blast Bees. As you defeat enemies more enter the fray for several waves.

Report Back to Kohl

After taking care of the zeugle problem, return to Ulzebek and speak with Kohl to complete the subquest.

To start the Where an Unforeseen Encounter Leads subquest, you must begin the One’s Own Master main quest and progress to the Go to Niez objective. Once you’ve done that, travel to Ulzebek in Calaglia and speak with the Dahnan Man on the roof of the Inn.

  • Search for the man’s missing son

  • Deliver the fruit to the father

Talk to the Dahnan man to learn that his son is missing. Shionne feeling sympathetic will want to help him.

Where an Unforeseen Encounter Leads Subquest Boy Map Location

Set out for the Iglia Wastes in Calaglia to begin searching for the missing boy. Once you reach the area, follow the path north swinging a left against the central rock mountain to find the boy. Talk with him to trigger a cutscene.

Acquire 3x Apple / 3x Lemon / 3x Strawberry

If you don’t already have the required fruit, they can be gathered at the locations listed below.

How to Start the Cast Aside Subquest

To start the Cast Aside subquest, you must begin the One’s Own Master main quest. Once you’ve done that, travel to Ulzebek in Calaglia and speak with the Brooding Man up the path to the left of the Inn by the Iglia Wastes entrance.

Cast Aside Objectives

  • Talk to the client in Ulzebek
  • Defeat the zeugles near the ruins in the Iglia Wastes
  • Defeat the zeugles near the starship in the Iglia Wastes
  • Defeat the zeugles in the north end of the Iglia Wastes
  • Report back to the client in Ulzebek

Talk to the Client in Ulzebek

Speak with the client who will tell you about how the Renans throw out their old clothes. He’ll then mention how the area where the clothes are dumped is full of zeugles making it hard to collect them. Offer to clear out the zeugles for him so he can do his thing.

Defeat the Zeugles Near Ruins in the Iglia Wastes

Travel to the Iglia Wastes (from Ulzebek) and make your way to the northern part of the area. This objective area can be found in the northwesternmost corner. Head there to fight 2 level 78 Golems,

Defeat the Zeugles Near the Starship in the Iglia Wastes

The southernmost objective bubble at the northern part of the map is for this objective. Approach the zeugles there to initiate combat with 3 level 77 Rampage Wolves.

Defeat the Zeugles in the North End of the Iglia Wastes

The right-most objective area will bring you to this objective. There you’ll face 3 level 73 Blast Bees and 1 level 78 Golem.

Report Back to the Client in Ulzebek

After all of the zeugles have been dealt with, return to Ulzebek and speak with the client to complete the subquest.

To start The Owls Gratitude subquest, you must begin the Disappearance and Distress main quest and then progress to the Go to Ulzebek objective. Once you’ve done that, travel to the Aqfotle Hills in Mahg Saar then speak with Giselle in front of her house.

Talk to Giselle

Speak with Giselle to learn about the picture book using owl feathers that she wants to make. She’ll then ask if you can gather some materials for her.

Acquire 3x Majestic Feather

The Owls' Gratitude Subquest Manhunt Hawk Image

To find the 3 Majestic Feathers you need, travel to Rudhir Forest in Cyslodia and defeat the Manhunt Hawks found there. They drop the time you’re after.

Deliver the Materials to Giselle

Once you have 3 of the Majestic Feathers, deliver them to Giselle. This will complete the subquest.
