Tales of Arise – Fish & Fishing Spots

Welcome to our Tales of Arise guide for fish and fishing spots! You’ll unlock fishing automatically as part of the story after you come across Talka Pond with Kisara and Dohalim in your party. You’ll need to fish in order to unlock both the Skilled Angler and Godly Angler trophies. For the Skilled Angler trophy, you’ll receive it after catching your first fish. The Godly Angler trophy is a bit harder to earn as you’ll need to catch every type of fish and show the Fishing Notes to the Fishing Expert at Talka Pond. You can find the following fish at the below fishing spots! As you collect new fish, report them to the Fishing Expert to earn new rods and lures! You’ll need these to catch rarer fish.

NieR Replicant – Fish

Below are the fish that can be caught in NieR Replicant. In order to receive the A Round by the Pond trophy, you’ll need to catch one of every type of fish. For the Fish of Legend trophy, you must catch a Rhizodont. Please note that you can purchase bait from the Tackle Shop in Seafront.

 

Black Bass

The black bass can be found by fishing near a waterwheel in your village. Head up the stairs next to the fountain in the Market District to reach the dock next to the waterwheel. Catch the fish using a lure as bait. You will need to obtain 5 for The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 5 quest.

 

Blowfish

This fish can be found by fishing off the docks near the fisherman in Seafront. Catch it using a lugworm as bait. You will need to obtain 7 for The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 2 quest.

 

Blue Marlin

The blue marlin can be found by fishing off the dock in Seafront using a sardine as bait. You will need to obtain 2 for The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 8 quest.

 

Bream

You can fish for the bream next to the fisherman in Seafront. Catch them using a lure as bait. You will need to obtain 5 for The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 4 quest.

 

Carp

This fish can be found by fishing near a waterwheel in your village. Head up the stairs next to the fountain in the Market District to reach the dock next to the waterwheel. Catch the fish using an earthworm as bait.

 

Giant Catfish

This fish can be found by fishing in the Eastern Plains using a carp. Unlike all the other fish you’ve caught, there is a trick to catching this one. When the bob goes down the first time, you must immediately reel in the fish.

 

Rainbow Trout

You can fish in the Northern Plains to acquire this fish. Catch the fish using a lure. You will need to obtain 7 for The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 3 quest.

 

Royal Fish

This fish can be found by fishing in the Eastern Plains using an earthworm. You will need to obtain 3 for The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 7 quest.

 

Sandfish

This fish can be found by fishing in the sand next to the boat in the southern part of the desert using a lure. Unlike all the other fish you’ve caught, there is a trick to catching this one. When the bob goes down the first time, you must immediately reel in the fish. You will need to obtain 3 for The Fisherman’s Gambit, Part 6 quest.

 

Sardine

This fish can be found by fishing on the western beach in Seafront near the lighthouse or off the docks near the fisherman. Catch it using a lugworm as bait. You will need to obtain 10 for The Fisherman’s Gambit quest.

 

Shaman Fish

This fish can be found by fishing on the western beach in Seafront near the lighthouse. Catch it using a lure as bait.

 

Shark

The shark can be found by fishing off the dock in Seafront using a sardine as bait. You will need to obtain 5 for the Bon Appetit! quest.
