Osvald is on a quest for vengeance, hunting down the man that took everything from him. During Osvald’s Chapter 3 in Octopath Traveler II, Osvald will return to Conning Creek where his home once stood. Please note that the recommended level for this main story is 18.

Conning Creek

After you kick off Osvald’s Chapter 3, make your way to the eastern map transition and proceed through to reach Conning Creek: Outskirts.

Conning Creek: Outskirts

Once in the outskirts, travel east to find the ruins where a cutscene will trigger. Exit your home then head behind it. Loot the chest in front of the cave to receive a Fire Soulstone (M). Afterwards, head inside the cave and follow the path down to Osvald’s study. Lady Clarissa will challenge you to a duel.

Boss Fight

For this fight, you’ll face Lady Clarissa by herself. Her vulnerabilities are shown in the table below. She’ll use magic attacks that can damage the whole party.

After the battle, she’ll realize that you were telling the truth. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to help you with Harvey so you’ll seek answers from the townsfolk. Before heading into town, make sure to check out the graveyard to find a chest containing an Inspiriting Plum (M).

Conning Creek

Return to town and speak with the following people:

  • Townsperson – Standing in front of the general store
  • Street Vendor – Down the stairs south of the tavern
  • Head Cook – Outside the tavern

You’ll learn that Captain Stenvar was involved.

Guard Outpost

Enter the Guard Outpost, which is on the northeastern side of town. The Danger Level is 18. You’ll find the below as you make your way to the end of this area!

When you reach the third floor, make sure to save at the savepoint then head inside the room to encounter Captain Stenvar.

Boss Fight

For this fight, you’ll face Captain Stenvar along with 2 of his footmen. When the battle first starts, the captain will use his men as a shield so you will be unable to break him until they are defeated. The fight is pretty straight forward. Watch out for Captain Stenvar’s fire attack that damages the whole party!
