God of War – Scrolls Guide

by Chappie in

Svartakfheim Scroll (The River Pass)

Facing Brok’s store in the River Pass, head directly left and jump down to the ledge between the two wooden pillars.  Climb down the chain on that ledge and follow the path through the tunnel. Take an immediate right as you exit the tunnel towards the two bridges with a gap between them. Jump the gap and turn left climbing the wall that is right there. Stick to the right and you should be in the location of the hallway in the first image below.  Head down the hallway and turn right. The scroll will be an item you can pick up on the ground like in the second picture.

Serpent Scroll (Thoe Mountain)

Head into the Mountain and take a right in the room with the stag sitting in a chair statue into a dark area. Light the crystal with Atreus if needed and jump down to the lower level.  Turn right and vault over the rock wall continuing on the path to another crystal to light. Keep going following the path and eventually, you will reach a tunnel requiring you to crouch. Head through the tunnel follow the path forward. Lift up the rock to proceed further into the cave.  Keep moving forward and vault up the wall leading you to a fork. Take the right path and light the crystal. To the north of the weak wall, follow the path to the next light on the wall. Keep heading down the path into a low cave filled with lots of dead corpses.  When you emerge, head up the stairs to the right of the stag statue to break down the weak wall to find the scroll.

The Aesir’s Punishment (Isle of Death – Shores of Nine)

Dock at the Isle of Death and follow the path straight ahead. Take the first left and climb up the wall. Turn right and climb up part of a broken ship to find the scroll.

The Soul Eaters (Landsuther Mines – Near the River Pass)

Use the entry stone to gain access to the mine and head in. Follow the path, crouching under a rock to come to an open area with enemies.  Head to the right and activate the lever to drop a climbable rock in the middle of the area. Climb up the rock and at the top, shoot the crystal hanging from the ceiling to break the floorboards. Climb down the hole and move forward toward the east to reach climbable wooden planks. At the top of the planks, destroy the red growth to press forward. Slide along the wall, heading deeper into the mines to come across a soul eater and traveler.  Climb up the wooden planks next to the dead soul eater, jump the gap in the bridge and take a left jumping down. Move forward and climb up the small wall. Jump across the bridge and pull the lever to raise the platform. Take the zipline down and climb up to the level you just gained access to. Boost Atreus to lift the gate to proceed to the next room. The scroll will be on the left.

A Son’s Regret (Northri Stronghold)

See the Family Business guide for the location of this scroll.

Kingdom Come Deliverance – The King’s Silver

by Chappie in

Welcome to NGB and our Kingdom Come Deliverance walkthrough for The King’s Silver quest! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through this quest.

The King’s Silver Overview

Quest Giver:  Sir Radzig – Rattay

Summary: Henry checked in with Sir Radzig to see if there was anything he could help with.  Sir Radzig told him that the Master Engineer needed someone to assess the damage to the Skalitz mine so he could get it up and running.

Objective(s):

Examine the mining works

N/A – Head to the mine gallery first, all other objectives get updated

Examine the ore processing yard

Head to the marker on the map to inspect the area. A few bandits have set up camp here. You can either take them out or inspect the area and flee.

Examine the condition of the mineshaft

N/A – Head to the mine gallery first, all other objectives get updated

Examine the condition of the waterworks

N/A – Head to the mine gallery first, all other objectives get updated

When you arrive at the mine gallery, a dialog will start with a miner keeping watch over it.

Walk past the miner and head into the mine gallery. Keep moving forward until a cutscene triggers. This updates the objectives to only escape from the mine.

Escape from the mine

After a cutscene, dialog with another miner occurs. He will then jump down from the landing he was on and attack Henry. You can kill him or knock him out. From this point on there will be multiple guards until you reach the exit. You can choose how to deal with them. For my playthrough, I’m going for the no-kill trophy so I fist fought with a couple and ran past the others until I found the exit.

Inform Tobias Feyfar

Tell Tobias that Nemoy and his gang were stealing silver from the mines. Finish the conversation with him and the quest will complete.

Kingdom Come Deliverance – The Sport of Kings / Talmberg Horse Race

by Chappie in

Welcome to NGB and our Kingdom Come Deliverance walkthrough for the The Sport of Kings quest and Talmberg Horse Race! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through this quest.

The Sport of Kings Overview

Quest Giver: Zora – Neuhof

Summary: Zora of the Neuhof stables asks Henry to find out why Sir Divish stopped buying horses from her. Henry will then need to figure out some way to convince Sir Divish to start buying Zora’s horses again.

Objective(s):

Saddle Zora’s dappled grey

Hop on the dappled grey Zora mentioned to update the objective.

Bring the dappled grey to the Talmberg stables

Head to the Talmberg stables located in the Talmberg Keep. This is the area where Lady Stephanie let Henry sleep early in the main story.

Talk to Sir Divish

Head up into the castle to locate Sir Divish and talk to him. He quit buying horses from Zora because he didn’t think a woman could run the stables. You can then challenge him to a horse race to prove the Zora being a woman has nothing to do with the quality of the horses she breeds.

Talk to the stable master

Head down to talk to the stable master about the race. He will tell you to meet at the Talmberg gate around noon.

Go to the Talmberg gate at noon today on Zora’s dappled grey

Head to the Talmberg gate riding Zora’s dappled grey horse.

Wait for Sir Divish and the other riders

The race will commence when Sir Divish and the other riders show up. The quest will then change to Talmberg Horse Race.

Win the Race!

The goal here is to win the horse race so Sir Divish will start buying horses from Zora again. That is easier said than done. The other riders run a perfect race meaning that they waste no time heading to each point and take the optimal road path to get there. Make sure you use a Savior Schnapps so you can reload until you win. The easiest way to win is to mark each location on your map and head straight there running across fields and through forests to reach each location. This should give you enough of an edge to pull out the win. Winning the race also unlocks a Trophy/Achievement. On the image below, the green circle (Uzhitz Church) is the first location, the pink circle (Merhojed Mill) is the second location, and the red circle (Talmberg Quarry) is the third location. Then you will head back to the starting line by the Talmberg gate to finish the race.

The Sport of Kings Kingdom Come Deliverance

Speak to Divish

After winning the race, speak to Sir Divish, and he will again resume buying horses from Zora.

Tell Zora how the race ended

Head back to Neuhof and tell Zora that you won the race and that Sir Divish will start buying horses from her again. She will be pleased and reward you.

*Note: One of the rewards is supposed to be one of the finest saddles around. The quest glitched, and I never received the saddle. This seems to be the case for others out there as well.

Kingdom Come Deliverance – Mightier than the Sword

by Chappie in

Welcome to NGB and our Kingdom Come Deliverance walkthrough for the Mightier than the Sword quest! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through this quest.

How to Start Mightier Than the Sword

In order to start Mightier Than the Sword, travel to the Apothecary in Rattay and speak with him. Select the option “Who can teach me to read?” to which the Apothecary will direct Henry to a scribe in Uzhitz.

Mightier than the Sword Overview

Quest Giver: Rattay Priest / Rattay Bailiff

Summary: After asking around in Rattay, Henry hears that there is a scribe in Uzhitz who can teach him how to read.

Objective(s):

Speak to the scribe in Uzhitz

Follow the quest objective to Uzhitz to find the scribe and talk to him. The scribe agrees to teach Henry to read for 50 groschen and tells Henry that it will take a couple of days to train him. Give the scribe the 50 groschen to begin the training.

Read the book

Henry’s first task will be to read a book about a goose that lays golden eggs. When your done reading the book, head back to the scribe and speak with him.

Go back to the scribe

The scribe will ask you what the book is about. The correct dialog option is Being greedy doesn’t pay. Time will pass and the scribe will tell Henry to read another book in Latin.

Read the book

Sit down at the table and interact with the book to read it. Unless you know Latin, the book will not make sense to you.  Head back to the scribe and speak to him.

Go back to the scribe

He will ask you what you just read. The correct answer is the one that doesn’t have any English words in it, so it’s the middle dialog option. This completes the Mightier than the Sword quest, and Henry will unlock the reading skill.

Kingdom Come Deliverance – A Woman Scorned

by Chappie in

Welcome to NGB and our Kingdom Come Deliverance walkthrough for the A Woman Scorned quest! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through this quest.

A Woman Scorned Overview

Activity Giver: Old Whore – Inn in the Glade

Summary: An old lady asks Henry to help her get back at the people that have wronged her.

Objective(s):

Steal 20 groschen from the non-paying customer’s purse

Wait until dark and follow the non-paying customer on his way home. Sneak up behind him and knock him out. You can then steal his purse and bring it to the old whore.

Steal the woolen shaw from the village woman

You can pickpocket the shawl off of the village woman while she’s sleeping. Be mindful of her husband who is asleep next to her. He can wake up and catch you. The other option is to wake the lady and lead her out of the house. You can then run behind her, knock her out, and take the woolen shaw from her. Be sure to knock her husband out, too. There is a chest in the house with an easy lock that contains the book Grasses and Herbs.

Steal the farmer’s ornamental dagger

Sneak into the farmer’s house at night and wait for him to go to sleep. Knock him out then take the dagger from him.

Steal the key to the trunk from the farmer’s wife

Travel back to the farmer’s house. Wait until night to pick the easy lock on the door. Find the sleeping woman and pickpocket the key from her. You can also just knock her out if you wish and take the key that way. She was asleep next to her husband, so it might be a little trickier to knock her out.

Talk to the innkeeper at the Inn in the Glade

Wait a day after giving the old whore the trunk key then talk to the innkeeper to complete the quest.

Kingdom Come Deliverance – Next to Godliness

by Chappie in

Welcome to NGB and our Kingdom Come Deliverance walkthrough for the Next to Godliness quest! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through this quest.

Next to Godliness Overview

Quest Giver: Sir Hans Capon – Rattay (Lower Gate Castle)

Summary: Henry went to check up on Sir Hans Capon following their hunting adventure. Sir Hans is bored and asks Henry to accompany him to the baths to escape having to listen to the local priest again.

Objective(s):

Go in the evening to join Lord Capon at the baths

Wait until nightfall (21) then head to the baths outside of Rattay by Peshek’s Mill. Hans will be in the building towards the back of the baths on the left.

Ask Sir Hans if he needs anything

Sir Hans asks you to beat Zdena at dice. If you want to win, use a savior schnapps before you challenge her. She can go on some pretty ridiculous streaks to win the game in a couple of turns. Nothing really happens if you don’t win though.

Play dice with Zdena the bathmaid

Talk to Zdena to challenge her to a game of dice. I had to win 2 games to complete the objective.

Speak to Sir Hans

Talk to Sir Hans, and Henry mentions he too could go for a bath. Sir Hans invites him to hop into the tub with him. I picked the sure, why not option.

Put your clothes in the trunk and get in the tub

Interact with the trunk in the back of the room to enter the bath with Sir Hans. Sir Hans offers Henry a drink. You can accept or refuse. Accepting causes Henry to get a little tipsy.

Ask Lord Capon what’s bothering him now

Sir Hans tells Henry that the bathhouse wine sucks and asks him to get the good stuff from the cellar of the Rathaus. Henry agrees and heads out on his way. Make sure you take Sir Hans’ keys from the trunk before you leave the bathhouse. It will open a very hard lockpick to get the wine. Another option is to steal it off of a guard who patrols the area where the wine is located. Reach the cellar and pick up the pitcher from the wash bucket. Then interact with the barrel on the bottom right of the stack to complete the objective.

Go back to the bathhouse with the wine for Sir Hans

Talk to Sir Hans to hand over the wine and then enjoy the cutscene that follows.

Get flowers for Klara the bath wench

Head to the upper castle garden to pick the flowers (marked on the map). The flowers needed are dandelions, sage, poppies, and roses. After picking all of the flowers, Henry automatically fast travels back to the baths and right into a fist fight. After another cutscene, Henry wakes up outside in the morning.

See if Sir Hans is alright

Head back to Rattay to find Sir Hans and talk to him. After some dialog, the quest will complete.

Kingdom Come Deliverance – Miracles While You Wait

by Chappie in

Welcome to NGB and our Kingdom Come Deliverance walkthrough for the Miracles While You Wait quest! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through this quest.

Miracles While You Wait Overview

*Note: This quest can be really glitchy so save before starting it if you can.

Quest Giver: Charlatan – Sasau

Summary: Henry met a Charlatan in the Sasau market who needed help gathering some materials.

Objective(s):

Procopius’ Tooth

The fastest way to get Procopius’ tooth would be sneak up behind and knock him out. You can then pull the tooth out yourself. You can also initiate a fist fight and obtain it that way. The other option, if your speech is high enough, is to convince Procopius to go to the blacksmith and have him pull the tooth. First Aid can also help convince Procopius to get his tooth pulled.

Branch from the Topping Out

The branch is located at the monastery in northern Sasau. Its attached to a mini-tree hanging from the top of the monastery next to some scaffolding. Climb the top of the scaffolding and shoot the tree with an arrow to break off the branch. Descend to the bottom and collect the branch.

Cat’s Paw Talisman

The cat’s paw talisman is in the hands of a gambler when you find it. You can force him into giving it to you, win it off him at dice, or haggle to buy if off of him.

Burial Shroud

After obtaining the 3 previous items, you have to steal a shroud off of the corpse of a recently deceased man in the local church. Speak to one of the fathers in the church to learn about the man’s life. Then talk to one of his sons who is also in the church mourning his father. You can lie and say that you are his cousin. He will then question you to try and catch you lying. The correct responses are We’re from Vlashim and Lucy, of course. If you fail the lie test, he will turn hostile and a fistfight will break out.  He will then leave you alone with his father where you can take the shroud off of the corpse. The item you need is called the Monk’s Habit.

by Chappie in

Welcome to NGB and our Kingdom Come Deliverance walkthrough for the In Gods Hands quest! Here you’ll find everything you’ll need to easily breeze through this quest.

In Gods Hands Overview

*Note: The First Aid I and First Aid II skills really help in this quest.

Quest Giver: Johanka – Sasau Monastery

Summary: Johanka, a survivor from Skalitz, is assisting Brother Nicodemus of the Sasau Monastery with nursing to health some sick and injured people when Henry finds her. After seeing the wounded, he offers to give her a hand.

Objective(s):

Talk to the sick people

Inspect all of the sick people in the room and the 2 on the porch to get the rest of the objectives for the In Gods Hands quest.

Find out how to get better conditions

Talk to Brother Nicodemus in the next room. He will ask you to negotiate with the custodian to get more supplies.

Try to get supplies from the custodian

Head to the custodian’s house in the morning to talk to him about supplies. If your speech is high enough, you can talk him into getting the additional supplies for free. If not, you can offer to pay him groschen to complete the objective.

Bring some meat to the sick

I went to the closest Inn and bought meat from the innkeeper to give to Johanka. You could also hunt the meat off of wild animals.

Find bandages for Hans

I had bandages on me that I gave to Hans to meet the requirement for this quest.

Find out what happened to Philip

You are tasked with finding Father Simon to help diagnose Philip. NOTE: If you also have the quest Man of the Cloth, you will need to progress in that quest to find Father Simon. He will tell you to brew the Artemesia potion for Philip and show you how to make it. Return to the monastery and brew the potion.  You will need 2 wormwood and 1 sage all of which you can buy from Brother Nicodemus or find in the wild. Administer the potion to Philip and wait for it to take effect.

Do something to help the insomniac fall asleep

Make a Lullaby potion for the insomniac. It requires 1 poppy, 1 thistle, and 1 herb paris. All of the ingredients can be bought from brother Nicodemus or found in the wild. Give the potion to the insomniac.

Get healing herbs for Semek

The herb Semek is referring to is comfey and can be purchased from Brother Nicodemus or found in the wild. Give Semek the herb and check in with him a few days later.

Set the bone in the man’s leg

I was able to set the bone myself because of the skill First Aid II.

Tell Johanka you can’t do anything more

When all of the other objectives are complete, tell Johanka there is nothing more you can do. The In Gods Hands quest will then complete.
