Below are the side quests/odd jobs in Chapter 9 of Final Fantasy VII Remake!
Burning Thighs
Obtained: Speak with Jules at the gym located in southwestern Wall Market
Objective: Win the competition!
Compete against one of the other gym members in a squatting competition and emerge victorious to complete the quest! *NOTE: In order to get the Sultan of Squat trophy, you will need to complete the squat challenge with each of the 3 buff dudes.
The Price of Thievery
Obtained: Meet with the Stablehand and Mireille in front of a barn across from Sam’s Delivery Service near the entrance of Wall Market
Objective: Hunt the bandits
Travel to the Collapsed Expressway Utility Tunnel, which is just past Evergreen Park. In the tunnel, you’ll come across the 3 Stooges: Beck, Burke and Butch, plus a new Grungy Bandit. Defeat all the enemies then return to Mireille to complete the quest.
Shears’ Counterattack
Obtained: After completing both of the above side quests
Objective: Defeat the Machine
Head back to Madam M’s to run into the Gatekeeper, triggering a cutscene. Make your way to the Colosseum and take the elevator down to the basement. Speak with the Gatekeeper again to begin the battle with the Jury-Rigged Cutter. Defeat the machine then exit the arena and speak with Madam M to complete the quest.

Chapter 9
22. Cosmo Canyon
Purchase the disc for 50 gil from a vending machine located in the Collapsed Expressway – Large Cave-In. This disc will be after the second time you have to use a crane to transport Aerith to a ledge to drop down a ladder.
8. Under the Rotting Pizza
Interact with a Jukebox along a chain-linked fence behind the family hotel in southern Wall Market.
10. Honeybee Inn
Purchase the disc for 50 gil from the Pharmacy to the right of the neon bar in the square of Wall Market.
17. Farm Boy
Speak with the Cowgirl in front of Good Luck in the northwestern part of Wall Market. She will give you the disc!
29. The Midgar Blues
Speak to the Singer in Yoidore, which is located along the southwestern part of Wall Market, to obtain his disc.
26. Let the Battles Begin! – REMAKE
This disc is acquired during the dance tutorial in the Honeybee Inn before your appointment with Andrea. You will have to get 10 greats during the practice in order to unlock the disc. You can keep retrying by repeating the practice.
11. Don of the Slums
Purchase the disc for 50 gil from a vending machine in the Forbidden Room of Corneo’s Mansion after the story segment where Cloud and Aerith get gassed.
Below are the side quests/odd jobs in Chapter 8 of Final Fantasy VII Remake! *NOTE: These side quests will become available after saving the two children.
The Mysterious Moogle Merchant
Obtained: Speak with Moggie the Moogle who is wearing a Moogle outfit at the hideout
Objective: Purchase membership
After speaking with Moggie, you will need to buy a Moogle Membership Card for 1 Moogle Medal to complete the quest.
Kids on Patrol
Obtained: Speak with Ms. Folia at the Leaf House
Objective: Retrieve 5 children wearing swords on their backs
First child – At the entrance of Center District near the road to Station Way
Second child – Near the entrance to the Children’s Secret Hideout
Third child – In front of the Weapons Shop
Fourth child – In a break in a tunnel south of the school past the Community Center
Fifth child – In front of the Community Center
After finding the 5 children, head back to the school and speak with Ms. Folia. This will trigger a cutscene resulting in Cloud taking a job at a discounted price. Make your way to the Children’s Secret Hideout and follow the path to the end of Specter Street to encounter the Hedgehog Pie King and his loyal subjects. Defeat the enemies to complete the quest.
Weapons on a Rampage
Obtained: Speak with the Scared Man on Station Way
Objective: Defeat 5 Shinra Weapons
Travel to Nuts ‘n’ Bolts Hills northeast of Center District. Make your way through the area to a dead end in the Scrapyard Back Alley to find a group of 3 Mark II Monodrives. Defeat them then head to large open area in Twilight Valley to find the second group of 2 Mark II Monodrives. Once all of the enemies have been defeated, return to the Scared Man and speak with him to complete the quest.
A Verified Hero
Obtained: Automatically after completing the Kids on Patrol side quest
Objective: Participate in the game!
Speak with Sarah in the Children’s Secret Hideout and agree to play Wack-a-Box. The goal of this game is to destroy as many boxes as you can! The target score is 10,000 points. Play the game once to complete the quest. *NOTE: There are two trophies involving this mini-game. For the Crate Annihilator trophy, you will need to get 30,000 points in one round of Whack-a-Box. For the Whack-a-Box Wunderkind trophy, you will need to complete all hard difficulty Whack-a-Box challenges.Â
The Angel of the Slums
Obtained: Given by Oates in the Children’s Secret Hideout after completing most of the other side quests
Objective: Collect information on the slums’ Guardian Angel
Speak with Damon who is standing in front of the community center then head inside the community center and speak to Mireille who is standing next to the door. Afterwards, head back and speak with Damon to trigger a cutscene. Travel to Lookout Point in the northeastern part of the map to find the Chromogger. It’s weakness is electric so give it all you got and defeat it! Once the battle is over, search the table in the fighting area to find the Guardian Angel’s calling card. After you collect the card, return to Damon and speak with him to complete the quest.
Paying Respects
Obtained: Automatically after completing the Weapons on a Rampage side quest
Objective: Visit the graveyard
Speak with the Old Man outside the Weapons Shop. Buy the graveyard key off of Moggie for 1 Moogle Medal then proceed to the graveyard locate along Nuts ‘n’ Bolts Hills. Use the key to unlock the door then defeat the monsters inside. Be forewarned that they will poison you and are weak to ice!! Once you defeat them, return to the Old Man and speak with him to complete the quest.
The Cleanup Crew trophy in Final Fantasy VII Remake requires you to obtain the Chocobo & Moogle materia.
During the Chapter 6: Light the Way main mission, you’ll be tasked with shutting off three sunlights to power a cargo platform on the way to the Mako reactor. After doing this, face the Mako reactor then take a right heading west into a lift. Use the lift to cross the gap leading to a platform. Climb up the ladder on this platform to enter a small break room with a console and vending machine. Interact with the console to power down the fans in the maintenance tunnel. You will have 60 seconds to clear the enemies in the next room and interact with the console in that room. This will open the door leading behind the giant fans where you can find the materia (pink dot in map above).

Chapter 5
28. Stamp
Purchase for 50 gil from a vending machine in Section E of Corkscrew Tunnel.
Chapter 6
18. Electric de Chocobo
Purchase for 50 gil from a vending machine at Sector 4 Plate Interior: Plate Mid-Level in Section H Utility Access. To reach it face the cargo platform that you had to power up during the story, turn right and head west. Take the lift across to reach a platform with stairs leading to a room containing the vending machine.
Chapter 7
2. Bombing Mission
Purchase for 50 gil from a vending machine near the Front Gate in the Mako Reactor 5. This will be right after the segment where Barret, Tifa and Cloud have to move levers to unlock a door.

Chadley’s Report
Obtained: Speak with Chadley in Sector 7 Slums: Residential Area
Objective: Gather Intel
Equip the Assess materia to gather intel on fiends. You will be able to use Assess on multiple enemies during the other side quests, so make sure to pick this one up before you start them. After you Assess the fiends, return to Chadley and speak with him to complete the quest.
Rat Problem
Obtained:Â Talk to the item store owner in Sector 7 Slums: Residential Area
Objective: Defeat the Doomrats
Follow the objective to the vacant lot in the northwestern part of the Residential Area (near Seventh Heaven) to find a gang of Wererats. Defeat them then return to the item store owner and speak with him to make the Doomrats spawn in the vacant lot. Head back to where the Wererats were and defeat the Doomrats that have now taken their places. Afterwards, return to the item store owner and report the good news to complete the quest.
Nuisance in the Factory
Obtained: Talk to the Junk Dealer in Sector 7 Slums: Residential Area
Objective: Defeat the Drakes
Head to Talagger Factory (Abandoned Factory on the map) located in Pillar Plaza east of the Residential Area and speak with Narjin who is standing near a gate to gain access to the factory.Work your way through the factory and defeat the two groups of the Lesser Drakes to complete the quest.
Lost Friends
Obtained: Talk to Betty in Sector 7 Slums: Residential Area
Objective: Find the missing cats
1. The first cat can be found on the porch of the Seventh Heaven bar. Interact with the cat.
2. The second cat can be found on the eastern side of the Residential Area near the path to Pillar Plaza. Once you find the cat, interact with it.
3. The third cat can be found west of the item shop. There will be a lady wearing a green sweater talking to a herd of cats. Speak with her to learn there is a cat on the other side of a short tunnel. Head through the tunnel and interact with the white cat. After interacting with all the cats, return to Betty to trigger a cutscene to complete the quest.
On the Prowl
Obtained: Speak to Wymer in Sector 7 Slums: Residential Area after completing the Rat Problem side quest
Objective: Slay Shinra Military Attack Dog
Head to Scrap Boulevard located west of the Residential Area and search the area for the Wrath Hound. After doing some damage to the hound, it will flee farther down the path. Chase after it to find Wymer. Speak with him to learn that he trapped the beast down a closed off path. Make your way there to finish it off (it’s weak to ice magic). Once it’s been defeated, return to Wymer and speak with him to complete the request.
Just Flew in from the Graveyard
Obtained: Complete the Nuisance in the Factory side quest then speak with the Junk Dealer
Objective: Defeat the Cerulean Drake
In order to enter the abandoned factory, you will need to obtain a watch security key from a wooden crate.
From the locked door, turn around and head across the room through a hallway to wind up on a concrete platform. Head down the stairs on the left and open the metal door in front of you if you haven’t already. The key will be in the crates on the other side of the door on the left just before the vending machine. After you find the key, head back to the sealed door then slay the Cerulean Drake. The drake is weak to wind materia like Aero which you can obtain from completing Battle Intel Report 2 for Chadley. After you defeat the drake, return to Gwen and speak with her to complete the quest.

Chapter 3
1. The Prelude
Purchase the disc for 50 gil from the Item Store Owner in Sector 7 Slums. You will go here with Tifa to replace the air filter.
3. Tifa’s Theme
Interact with the Jukebox inside the Seventh Heaven bar.
27. Hip Hop de Chocobo
Speak to the DJ in front of the Clubhouse (has a neon pizza sign inside) northeast of Seventh Heaven.
4. Barret’s Theme
Purchase the disc for 50 gil from the Item Shop at Undercity Station in the Sector 7 Slums.
