Eastward – Prison Break Walkthrough

by Chappie in

Below is a walkthrough for the Prison Break Chapter 1 quest in Eastward.

Blow this joint

When you gain control of Sam, interact with the poster at the back of the cell to trigger a dialog event. When it completes, keep pulling pieces of the poster until the hole in the wall is accessible. Climb through to find a rest area complete with a stove and fridge. Head down the stairs to reach the next area then follow along the tunnel. Along the path, you’ll come across three machines shooting out steam. Dodge the steam and flip the switch on the power controls to turn them off. Follow the path south of the power control to reach another area with two steam jets and a moveable pillar. Use the pillar to block the first steam jet then head around to the other side, grab the pillar and use it to block the second steam jet to clear the path forward.

In the next area, you’ll be able to switch between Sam and John. Use Sam to clear the plants out of the way and John to fight off the enemies. You should now be in an area with a steam jet blocking a set of stairs leading down and a locked door beyond that. Follow the southern path to reach a valve. Interact with it turn off the steam blocking your path. Next, climb up the nearby stairs and push the giant crate in front of the steam hole using John. Interact with the valve again then keep following the path west. Defeat the three fly enemies along the way to find a closet containing a key. Backtrack to the locked door you passed before and use the key to open it. Head inside and move the pillar in front of the steam. You can now head down the stairs to reach the next area.

Work your way through the area until you reach two machines shooting out three spinning jets of steam. Take the northern path to reach an area with a sealed door and spinning lever. On the left side of the area, there will be two bush snakes. Defeat them then walk past them to find a chest with 50 salt.  Head back to the locked door and keep hitting the spinning lever with your frying pan to open the door. Quickly head through before it closes. Use Sam to clear the plants blocking the way then switch to John to take out the lone enemy. For this next part, you’ll need to be quick. On the right side of the room, there will be another sealed door and on the left flowers leading to a gap in the floor. Use Sam to clear the flowers then switch to John. Hit a bomb over to the lever causing it to open the door when it explodes. You’ll then need to switch back to Sam, clear the pants and run through the door before it closes. Inside you’ll find a cabinet with a key. Return to the area with the two spinning steam machines and follow the southern path. Use the key to unlock the door, then head down the stairs.

In the next area, there will be two steam machines blocking the path forward. Head north along the right side to reach a switch. Press it to cause the steam machines to spin. Then cross over to the other side of the room and press the switch there. Follow this up by heading back to the first switch and press the button twice. This should allow you to reach the southwestern part the room. Follow the path south using your frying pan to remove the decayed plants blocking your path. Now you should see two valves, one at the northern part of the room and another at the southern. Activate them in this order: south, north, south, north. Doing so will allow you to head to the western side of the area where you’ll find a chest containing a key guarded by two enemies. Defeat them, grab the key, then backtrack to the room with the two steam machines. Press the switch on the right side then head west to reach a locked door. Open the door using your key and proceed to the next area.

In the next area, switch to Sam and use her ability on the mushrooms to light the way forward. Be prepared to alternate between Sam and John as enemies will spawn out of the eggs on the floor Aliens style and attack you. On the northwestern side of the room, you’ll find a chest containing 3 potatoes just before the exit to the next area.

Follow the path in this area until you reach the warning sign. From there take the southern path to reach a chest containing a Heart Orb then head back up to the warning sign and take a left. Destroy the crates blocking your way with a bomb. Drop a bomb near the spinning switch then run back to the middle path and through the door. Head down the stairs to reach the next area triggering a dialog event.

After the event, head to the next area. For this section, you’ll have to switch between John and Sam to progress through the area. Switch to Sam heading farther down the path. You’ll come across three switches. Pres the switches on the left and right. Change to John then head past the three steam machines. Switch back to Sam and hit the left switch. You can then use John to head south past the leftmost switch where you’ll find a chest with a gear part. Continue heading forward until you reach the steam jet. Switch over to Sam then turn the valve. Go back to John stopping the next steam jet. Again use Sam to turn the value then move forward with John. Now as John, move the pillar all the way to the right to block the second steam jet for Sam. Then turn the valve with Sam and head down the stairs and proceed to the next area.

Controlling Sam, use her ability to get past the flowers, then step on the platform opening the door for John. As John, head forward until you are stopped by the steam jets. Drop a bomb and lob it near the explosible barrels blocking Sam’s way to create a path for her. Next use Sam to turn off the steam valve and head to the next area. Head forward with Sam stopping at the sealed door. Use John to hit the lever opening the door for Sam. Switch over to her and head through this door stopping on the floor switch. Change back over to John following the path and heading through the door that Sam opened. Step on the nearby platform, then switch to Sam and head through the door by her. You’ll then need to clear the flowers out on John’s side using Sam’s ability while switching to John to move him along. When you get to the northwestern part of the area as John, use your bombs in a dark area to blow up some creates. You’ll find a chest there with a gear part. Head down the southern path to reach the next area.

In the next area, head through the tunnel with Sam stopping on the floor platform on the other side. This will open the door for John allowing him to move through. Keep heading south switching between Sam and John to get past the bush snakes. Once at the end hit this switch a couple of times with John to open the door with Sam. This will allow her to step on a floor switch opening the door for John to unite the pair. Head south to reach the next area.

Start by heading down the southeastern path. You’ll then need to lob a bomb into the water below near the X. This will cause the water to rise. Do this two more times for the other X’s to raise the bridge on the west side of the room so you can press on. Climb up the ladder at the end of the path to reach the next area. Follow along the path to reach a room at the end with a ladder for you to climb. Make sure to stop in the room before this for a chest with a Heart Orb. A chest near the ladder also contains 3 mushrooms.

Climb up the ladder to enter the Mayor’s Estate then climb up another ladder and pull the lever on the wall to the left of the Mayor’s portrait unveil a hidden room. Quickly run behind the bookshelf and drag it back so you can head inside.  Head up to stairs in the Mayor’s house to reach his office and inspect the desk. You’ll have the option to switch out his speech with either the Earth Born Manga or Wild Love Magazine if you have either of them. Head back down to the first floor and inspect the Mayor’s portrait on the east side of the room to find another secret door. Head through.

Follow the path forward past the weird device to reach the Secret Path with a Save Point and shop. You know that means… Stock up on healing items and save, then head through the door. This time you’ll be facing a giant crab boss in s square room. In the center of the room is a pit with four switches at the corners. You’ll want to hit all for switches to cause steam to shoot the crab out of its hidey-hole stunning it in the process. Use this opportunity to wail on it for some good damage. As the fight goes on, smaller crabs will spawn in the area so watch out for them. The boss should go down after four rounds of damage. Head back to the strange device just before the Secret Path to reunite with Sam.

Eastward – The Forbidden Land Walkthrough

by Chappie in

Below is a walkthrough for The Forbidden Land Chapter 1 quest in Eastward.

Head to open house at the school

Leave John’s House and head to the school. Make your way to the playground across from classroom b3 to trigger a dialog event. Then head into classroom b2 to trigger another dialog event.

Find Sam!

Leave the school and head straight for the dig site. After a quick chat with the guys, head through the northern path then go east. Once you reach the elevator, board it. At the top, head west then drop a bomb to destroy the crates just before the hole in the ground. You’ll then need to drop a bomb and hit it across the hole to blow up the slug slurping the power from the cables on the other side. From here, head north following the way forward to reach the next area.

Take care of the fly enemy in this room then use a bomb to blow up the crates blocking your path. Continue chasing after Sam by heading through the doorway at the other end of the room. Once inside, break all of the creates with your trusty frying pan and connect all of the power cables. Turn on the power at the power box to open the door. Head through it following the hallway to reach a bathroom blocked by a bookshelf. Push it out of the way then proceed through the bathroom. On the other side of the area, you can use the door to enter the other bathroom where you’ll pull out a chest from the garbage. Open it to receive 50 salt. Head back through the door and take a right to continue pursuing Sam.

In the next area, take the stairs down then follow the hallway east. This will bring you to another hallway you’ll want to follow, fighting the slugs and vine snakes along the way. At the end of the hallway, you’ll find a room with some bookshelves. Grab the Earth Born Manga from the bottom shelf then head back to the room with the stairs. Take the stairs down then go to the right side of the room. Behind the large desk with two chairs, you’ll see two bookshelves. Move them to the left to reveal a door behind them then head through the door. Open the chest in this room to receive 50 salt. Return to the room with the stairs and head to the northwestern side.

Head east down the hallway then head through the doorway at the end to find a chest with 3 Sandrupe. Return to the entrance of this area then go west destroying the crates in the way and defeating the fly enemy on the other side. Work your way north through this ruined store to find a cabinet containing a key. Take the key then return to the room with the stairs. Head to the southwestern part of the room to find a path leading to a locked door. Unlock the door with your key and pass through it. Move the bookshelf straight ahead out of the way to reveal a hidden door leading to a chest with a Heart Orb. Next enter the room on the right and climb down the stairs in the back of the room.

Head south through an air current to arrive at a second air current with a red tube. Drop a bomb to disable the current then use another bomb to destroy the crates blocking the path forward. Follow the hallway destroying another air current bringing you to an open room with multiple air currents and two enemies that attack from a range. Hit a bomb to destroy them then press the button on the switch to change the airflow. Keep heading forward, and you’ll pass through a door that locks behind you. Defeat all of the enemies to open the door then press forward to reach the next area.

Drop a bomb near the explosive barrels to knock down a pillar allowing you to pass over the hole in the floor. This will bring you to another air current blocking your path. Head through the doorway on the other side of the room then hit a bomb over the hole near a pillar. This will cause it to drop allowing you to reach the control for the air current. Activate the switch then exit the room and follow the hallway past the air current. Destroy the crates blocking your path with a bomb then do the same thing to the nearby pillar. Climb up the rubble and move the bookshelf out of the way. Climb the ladder in the back of the room.

In this area, flip the switch on the wall to turn on the generator and open the door. Head through the door and connect the switches leading to the northern door to open it. Head through and connect the cables there. Return to the previous room and connect the cables so that they open the door on the right. Head through that door and connect the cables by the bookshelf. Exit the room and connect the cables so that they power the bomb behind the exit clearing the way.

*Step 1

*Step 2

*Step 3

In the next area, work your way through to the end. When you get to the last fork, take the left path (blocked by crates you’ll need to blow up) to find a chest at the end with a gear part. Take the right path to arrive at another room filled with power cables. Flip the lever on the left side of the room to turn on the generator. The first locked door on the left contains some bombs, the middle some jars to smash and the third is the way forward. Head through the third door and climb down the ladder. Open the chest to receive 3 eggs.

Climb down the other ladder in this room to reach another room with three air currents. Head down the southern path and use a bomb to destroy the crates blocking your way. Enter the room and flip the air current switch then head to the northern path and hit a bomb into the air current. This will destroy a pillar near the southern path allowing you to move forward. Cross over the pillar then keep heading east to find a ladder. Climb up the ladder.

You’ll now be in a breakroom with a save point so you know what that means… boss time! When you’re ready, head to the next area to trigger a dialog event leading to the boss fight against a giant robot with a vacuum arm. The boss will chase you down a long hallway and hit you if it gets too close. When you see the blue light drop a bomb, this means it’s about to try and suck you closer with its vacuum. If it gets the bomb, it will explode inside of the boss allowing you a window to deal some damage with your trusty frying pan. After the first time, the boss gets more aggressive. If it emits red light, that means it’s about to shoot a rock at you, so make sure to dodge it. You’ll need to stun the boss about 4 times with a bomb to get off enough damage to defeat it. After taking the machine down, a dialog event will trigger.

Find the exit

Head south through the darkness then hit the mushrooms with the newly acquired Energy Bubble to illuminate the room. Head to the next area to reach a big open room that looks like a store caped in darkness. If you follow the path directly east of the entrance, you’ll come across a chest with a Heart Orb. If you follow the path in the southern part of the room, you’ll be able to find the way out of this room. After the dialog event, follow the train tracks east to trigger another dialog event.

Get some gel

Now that we’ve made it back home, head to the bar and speak with Cooking Terminal then head to the dig site. If you head through the northern exit then take a left, you can use Sammy’s Energy Bubble to reach a chest with 3 tokens. If you go right toward the elevator, you’ll find Boguta there. Speak with him to receive some gel.

Take the gel to John

With the gel now in your possession, return to John’s Home to trigger a dialog event. When it ends, exit the house to trigger another one.

Baldo The Guardian Owls – Abandoned Royal Mansion

by Chappie in

After you complete the quests for The Ancient Lever and The Mechanism in Baldo The Guardian Owls, you’ll then be able to continue in The Underground.

The Underground

Head to the entrance to the sewers down the stairs next to the inn in Rodia. Once you’re in The Underground, burn the web and take the first available right, going through 2 owl statues guarding a doorway. Continue down the long hall and interact with the post missing a lever. Push the levers as shown in the image below.

Head through the door and continue left over the first wooden bridge to find a brazier at the dead end.

Before you light it, know that there are a total of 5 braziers that must be lit in the correct order to proceed. Once you light each brazier, pay attention to the quick cutscene that appears, showing you where the next brazier is. It’ll not only show you the location, but also a symbol above the fish head. Just make sure you’re at the right brazier before you light it! When the braziers are lit correctly, the water will rescind. Head to the northwestern side of the room (next to brazier #2) to head down then up a set of stairs. Exit the room via the door. In the next room, you’ll need to cross the wooden platform in the center and dig up a space in the northwestern side to reveal a pressure point. Step on it for the other pressure point to be accessible. Head across the wooden platform in the center and step on it. This will cause the middle platform to spin. Now this next task is going to suck! You’re going to have to light the brazier just before the spinning platform then jump onto the platform and light the 4 braziers while spinning. Your timing must be perfect as this is of course timed. Once all braziers are lit, a ladder will drop down. Climb up it to reach Maluna’s Castle.

Second Castle Gardens

This area will look similar to the previous castle gardens. Much like the same, you’ll need to make your way through the garden without being caught! From the starting point turn north. Take a right at the pot on a pedestal then turn left at the dead end.

Wait for the guard to head back down after he does a quick survey. When he does, go to where he was standing and turn left followed by an immediate right.

Turn left again to reach the white railing. Head straight down, taking the first and only left. Follow the path where you’ll eventually go past tables to reach a chest containing a Princess Doll for The Rare Doll side quest.

Backtrack to the railing. At the dead end along the railing, take a right followed by an immediate left. Grab the pot on your left.

Carry it along the railing until you spot an unmoving guard.

Throw the pot at him to cause him to turn towards you. Backtrack to the starting area. This time, head through the opening on the southern side of the well. Swing right around the potted plant on a pedestal and watch out for the guard as you quickly run behind him to take the first left followed by another left. Take yet another left.

Head forward and just before the dead end take a left turn.

Pick up the pot here and make your way to the guard on the right side that is standing guard and not moving.

Throw the pot behind him to cause him to turn around. Back track all the way to the table in the southwestern side of the area and take a left to follow along the railing.

Be mindful of the guard here and take the first available left.

Sneak behind the two guards and cross the long bridge to reach the Abandoned Royal Mansion!

Abandoned Royal Mansion

Head inside via the front door and stand on the guardian symbol and blow your horn. Push the 4 statues around the guardian symbol to the corresponding color of the flowers (west is blue, north is yellow, east is green and south is red).

Hit the fish’s mouth then head up the stairs and burn the web to reveal a portal. Step through the mirror. Use the mirror to guide yourself through this room. Remember that in a mirror you’re looking at your mirror image! Left and right turns are reversed! Avoid the ghosts, too. After you exit the room, light all the braziers you see then look on the left for a gap in the railing. Head down and push the rolling statue out of the way. Push the tall red vase northwest to reveal a Dungeon Key! Grab a pot and throw it at the lever across the way.

Head to the northwestern side and push the tall blue vase out of the railing. Circle around the railing to the other side and push the vase again to open a path. Grab a pot and return to the lever to throw it at it. Exit the enclosed area and head through the space where the blue vase was to light the last brazier. Once all the braziers in this room have been lit, a chest containing 10 Dindi will drop! Move the rolling statue as shown below to open a red mirror.

Head through the red mirror to open an area for later. Step on the pressure point and avoid the 2 spinning towers of death as you quickly run to the other side of the room and exit via the mirror. In this room you’ll see a long dining room table. Burn the webs off the paintings on the wall. You’ll notice 2 paintings of ghosts. Throw a pot at each painting to cause a ghost boss to spawn.

The trick to beating this ghost is to strike the eye on its back. The ghost will throw plates at you and do a spinning attack. Avoid these. When it does its move where it flies at you and ground shoots up underneath it, this will be your opportunity. Either block its attack or get hit by it to strike the eye. Keep repeating this process until it dies. When it does, a new entrance will be revealed. Unfortunately you cannot do anything now, but the opportunity will come later after you get the Owl Bomb! Exit this room and the next. Go through the mirror next to the red one. Stand on the pressure point. Avoid the 2 spinning towers of death as you quickly run to the other side of the room and exit via the mirror. In this room watch out for the flying pots! Head through the door at the top of the stairs. Hit the large object on the right side to cause the turntable in the middle to turn. Head across the turntable and defeat the spitting enemy by throwing a pot at it. Cut the grass to the right of it to find a hidden ladder leading down.

Climb down and follow the path until you arrive at a tall blue vase. Push this vase northeast to the pressure point to unlock a door. Exit this area by climbing back up the stairs. Proceed forward towards the spinning thing. Make sure you stay at its back as it spits out damage dealing darts! Head through the newly unlocked white doors and defeat all the enemies inside to obtain a Dungeon Key from a chest. Exit this room and head west. Follow along the railing, cutting grass as you go. At the dead end, dig up a Dungeon Key!

Use it to open the door on the other side of the spinning thing. Head through this door and burn the web blocking the yellow knight. Defeat it by striking the red button under the flap on its back. To expose the button, you’ll need to throw pots at its front to get it moving then wait for it to strike at you. When it does, dodge quickly behind it, strike its back then quickly roll away to avoid the fire it shoots out! After you defeat him, the gate will drop and you’ll be able to proceed forward. In the next room, push aside the statue on the left to reveal an unlit brazier on the floor. Light it then proceed forward to find another one. Do the same and a ghost wearing a red cape will spawn in the floor. Defeat it with one good whack then continue. In the next room, be wary of 2 statues as they drop their axes down when you walk nearby. Use the key at the end of this room to unlock the door. In the next room there will be a red statue in the middle of the room. As you approach it, it will come to life. Avoid doing so for the moment and move all the pots away from the 4 frog statues. With that out of the way, you’re going to need to use the knight to destroy the 4 frog statues before you can kill it. Hide behind a statue to draw it towards the statue and prevent you from getting hit by its ground move.

After it swings at you and destroys the statue move to the next one until they are all taken care of. Once this is done, get in the knight’s face so it will swing at you. Quickly dodge behind it and give its red button a strike then quickly dodge out of the way before it shoots you with fire. Repeat this process until you kill it! Next, move the pots onto the pressure points revealed by destroying the 4 statues to unlock the door with a fish symbol on the floor before it. Instead of heading through this door next, look for the door with a fish above it and enter that room. Defeat the 3 knights in there to reveal a chest containing 10 Dindi. Exit this room and head through the door on the southeast side. Either defeat the tentacle or run past it to the next door. Step on the pressure point to lower the gate. Backtrack to the large room where you had to place the pots on the pressure points after the statues were destroyed. Head through the door with a fish symbol on the floor and wait for the spinning tower to pass to the left. Follow the path right to arrive at a mirror. Throw the pot near this mirror at the lever across the way to raise a platform.

Enter through the mirror and run past the spinning towers of death. On the other side, enter the mirror to find a room with 2 yellow knights. Defeat the knights then push the statue of the knight on the east side of the room to the right yellow symbol on the floor. Look along the wall to find another yellow knight blocked by a web. Burn the web then draw the knight to the other yellow symbol on the floor. When it steps on it, the white door will unlock. Defeat the knight then continue through that door. Use the key to head through the door on the right where you’ll find Luna. Exit this room and light the brazier so you can better see the area.

Drink a stamina potion as you’re going to have to run to make it to the other side as the platforms drop! There is also a specific path you’ll need to follow. When the path forks the first time, head along the southern path. When it forks again, head along the northern path. Light the brazier at the end to solidify the path. Enter through the mirror. Defeat the 3 ghosts inside to unlock the next mirror then head through it. Approach the gate to unlock it. Head through the door on the southern side to return to the room where you previously hit the lever to cause a path to raise. The spinning tower of death will be in this room as well. Grab a pot and place it on the platform. Grab another one and stand on the platform.

Throw a pot at the lever to lower the platform with you on it. Grab the pot you brought with you and follow along the path until you see a large circular thing on the southwest side.

Throw the pot at it to cause the path further down to turn. Continue down the path and climb down the ladder. Grab a pot and throw it at the circle thing to turn the path. Do it again to turn the next one. Enter through the wooden door. Defeat the enemies inside and push the blocks out of your way as need be to reach a chest at the end of the path. Open it to find 10 Dindi! Exit this room and head down the stairs. Throw a pot at the spitting enemy near the wooden boards to destroy them revealing a contraption under the stairs. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to proceed yet so backtrack up the stairs and across the platforms. Before you climb up the stairs, hit the lever to turn the path. Proceed forward along the path and hit the lever to go back up. Head to the southwestern side, avoiding the spinning tower, to reach a newly turned path.

Enter the door to reach an area with water in the middle. Head straight forward along the water, cutting grass as you go, to find a pressure point.

Step on it to lower the water in the room. Quickly head on down, defeating the tentacles as you go, grab the pot with coals at the end and bring it to the surface before time runs out and the water refills. Defeat the tentacle blocking the southern bridge and carry the pot to the northern corner. Cut the grass to find a pressure point that unlocks the white door across the way.

Place the pot on this pressure point then make your way to the door! The 3 frog statues must be destroyed. To do this, push one in front of a red knight then give the knight a good whack to cause him to strike the statue with his axe.

When this task is complete, the fish head mounted to the wall will open revealing a tongue. Strike it to reveal a red mirror then enter through it. Step on the pressure point then run through the spinning towers trying to avoid them. Enter the mirror on the other side. You’ll need to place a pot on the pressure point shown in the mirror. Once it’s placed, the mirror will reveal the next pressure point. Again, carry a pot to it. Do this one more time for the chest to appear. Open it to receive a Dungeon Key! Back track all the way to the room with the spinning tower making its rounds. Enter through the door near the lever.

Use the key on the gate then hit the lever to lower another gate. Hit the circular thing to cause the path on the left to turn to where you can walk across it. Do so then head through the door at the end of the path. When you burn the web a Bobo will notice you. Throw a pot at it then strike it to defeat it. With that task accomplished, there is going to be a spitting enemy. Now the trick with this area is to bring a pot to where the enemy spawns right in front of the door. Grab another pot and throw it at the enemy that will wander off and blow up (make sure you’re not in the blast zone!). Quickly head back to where it spawns and throw the pot you placed there at it so it blows up there and breaks the barrier on the door. Head through the door. In this room head up the stairs on the left and grab the pot. Wait for the spitting enemy below to approach the wooden barricade then throw the pot at it.

This will cause it to explode, breaking the barrier. Head back down and enter the newly opened area. Dig near the spot the tentacle was to find an emblem with a pawprint on it. Proceed up the stairs to find a Bobo waiting for you at the top. Defeat it then push the tall blue vase off the edge.

Head back downstairs and push the vase onto the pawprint. Make your way back up the stairs and enter through the door at the top. Make your way to the other end, avoiding the 3 machines shooting projectile! Enter through the mirror and step on the pressure point. Cross the moving tiles to reach the other side. Retrieve the pot and carry it back across the moving tiles. Place it on the symbol on the ground northwest of the pressure point.

Cross to the other side and enter through the mirror. Head across the railed path but be wary of the open area as the tiles fall if you stand on an incorrect one. Good thing a book in the Rodia Library entitled The Abandoned Royal Mansion: the Hidden Path of the Tiles shows the below solution to this!

Start by going to the southeastern corner. Head through the door there and light the braziers to reveal a pressure point on the floor in the middle of all the statues. Stand on it to cause the 4 statues to come to life! You must defeat them in the following order: blue, yellow, green then red. Push in the long rod sticking out of the fish’s mouth.

Before heading through the newly opened passage, go through the door on the southwestern side of the room and make your way down the stairs. Light the webs and braziers as you go to unlock a shortcut at the end. Watch out for the spider lurking at the bottom of the stairs, too. With that done, head back up the stairs and go through the passage. There will be purple ghosts flying around in this room. Ignore them as they don’t cause much trouble. Grab one of the pots and place it on a pressure point then stand on the other to reveal a chest containing 10 Dindi. Exit this room and return to the area where the floor drops out. Make your way to the next door on the western side. Defeat the 3 knights inside to spawn a chest containing 10 Dindi. Exit this room and make your way to the northern door. In the next room, defeat the knights stationed in the center of the room then push the northeastern block to the southeast to gain access to the pressure point.

Step on it to cause the platform in the corner to raise, revealing a ladder. Climb on down. In this room, take out the enemies then quickly light all the brazier to cause a chest to spawn. Leave the room then reenter it to cause the spitting enemy to respawn. Push the chest towards the spitting enemy. Next, throw a pot at it, causing it to blow up, which demolishes the barrier surrounding the chest. Loot the chest to receive a Triangle Owl Key! Continue to the next room via the door on the southern side. Make your way all the way to the platform you can lower by standing on it and throwing a pot at it in the room with the spinning tower that makes its rounds along the track.

Lower the platform down and make your way along the path heading down the stairs at the end. Continue pushing forward down the stairs and strike the circular thing under the stairs.

Head through the fish doors on the right. Place the Triangle Owl Key to unlock the chest in the middle of the room. Loot it to receive an Owl Bomb, which completes The Owl Bomb quest!

Backtrack all the way to the place where you had to push the 4 statues into place in accordance with the colored flowers at the very beginning of this dungeon.

Enter through the fish door and defeat the 2 knights inside to drop a chest containing 10 Dindi. Next, head to the dining room where you fought the ghost boss through the red mirror.

Enter the room revealed when the boss was defeated and head down the stairs. At the bottom, go through the door. Throw bombs into the open fishes’ mouths until a chest spawns. Loot the chest to find a special key! Now, return to the room where you found Luna and use the key to open the door. A cutscene will spawn followed by a boss fight. To defeat this guy, dodge the fireballs while moving close to it. When he runs out of fireballs, strike him as he “reloads”. After you defeat him, a cutscene will trigger and Encore will speak with you. He’ll tell you to go to the Gokuro Tower in Rodia and will give you the Rodia Owl Tower Key.

Eastward – School Days Walkthrough

by Chappie in

Below is a walkthrough for the School Days Chapter 1 quest in Eastward.

Take Sammy to School

Exit John’s House. Before taking Sammy to school, make a pit stop in the westernpart of the trailer park to find a chest with 50 salt next to Brock outside of his trailer. Continue to School Front to trigger a dialog event.

Get a reference letter from the mayor

Head for the Mayor’s Estate by following the train track east of Miruku Miyazaki’s shop. If you take the stairs to the left of Captain Tiger to the top and head east towards the rock wall you’ll find a hidden tunnel leading to a chest containing 3 tokens. Head into the Mayor’s house and up the stairs to trigger a dialog event ending with you receiving the Reference Letter.

Take Sammy to School (again!)

Head back to School Front then hand the Reference Letter over to Principal Tacoma.

Kill some time around town

Before passing the time, you may want to check out Hello Grocery as it has some new items in stock, mainly 2 Backpack Expansions for a total of 150 salt and the Wild Love magazine for 25 salt. When you’re ready, there are two things you’ll need to do to pass the time. The first is to talk with the Cooking Terminal at Pop’s Place (bar) near Hello Grocery and the other is to speak with Dmir at the Sunnyside Ranch. Speaking to Dmir will start a mini-game where you’ll have to hit the drupe fruit into a pit in the center of the area for points. Doing both of these activities will trigger a dialog event.

Check on Sam at the school

Make your way to School Front and enter the school. Head straight through the first room then follow the hallway right to trigger a dialog event. Before heading after Daniel, head into room b3. It has a chest that contains 3 tokens.

Go after Daniel

Enter the bathroom and head through the glowing blue stall on the right to reach the Underground Tunnel. Work your way through the tunnel dodging the steam and fighting the enemies along the way. Watch out for the bush snakes as they come back a short time after being defeated. When you get to the shut door, move the nearby column onto the floor switch by the door to open it then head through.

In the next area follow the path taking the first left. Keep following the path passing stairs leading down. This will bring you a section of the path guarded by 3 bush snakes. Use your charged attack to deal with them in one shot then open the chest they are guarding to receive a Heart Orb. Backtrack to the stairs and walk down them. You’ll then take another set of stairs that leads to the other side of the room. Interact with the value to turn off the steam blocking the way further into the tunnel.

With the way forward clear, head further into the tunnel. When you come to the stairs blocked by another jet of steam, use the nearby pillar to block off the steam allowing you to keep pressing on. When you reach the next area a quick dialog event triggers.

Head home to make dinner

Before leaving the school, head through the doorway across from room b3 to reach the playground. Speak with the Janitor Don there for a cool dialog event. With that done, head back to John’s Home to trigger another dialog event.

Eastward – A Diggers Life Walkthrough

by Chappie in

Below is a walkthrough for A Digger’s Life prologue quest in Eastward.

Hurry to the dig site

When you gain control of John, exit his house heading north through the trailer park. Take the stairs to the upper level then follow the train tracks west passing through a tunnel to arrive in front of Hello Grocery. Follow the path down the ramp then head east towards the rock wall to find a hidden tunnel leading to a chest with 50 salt. Turn around and head down the other the path going west to reach the Digger Dorms. Enter the first room on the right to find a chest containing 50 salt. Return to the main hallway and keep following the hallway west to reach the Dig Site. Continue following the path to trigger a dialog event.

Save the dig site from the slug attack

Follow Chuck to the next area to learn that the slugs are in the western cave.  Head through the western exit to reach an area with the slugs. Move the boxes out of your way then introduce the pests to your trusty frying pan! When that’s done turn off the generator to reveal 3 more slugs that you’ll need to take care of. With that out of the way, connect the southern and middle extension cords then turn on the generator to open the room in the southwestern part of the area. Enter the room opening the cabinet in the back to get a key. Use the key to unlock the closet of the storeroom in the northeastern part of the area. In here you’ll receive the bombs needed to blow up the slug nest. Exit the storeroom and head up the path immediately to the left of it. Use a bomb to clear the way then approach the nest. Defeat the slugs that pop then drop a bomb to destroy the nest. Don’t worry too much about the slugs here as they will keep spawning until the nest id dealth with.

Once that is taken care of, head back to the generator and make sure it’s turned off. Next, you’ll want to connect the northernmost extension cord. Follow that up by turning the generator back on. Enter the newly opened room to the northwest of the area and use a bomb to blow up the crates blocking the way. Head through the opening to reach back part of the mine. Take the northwestern path to reach an electrically charged nest. Drop a bomb to destroy it. Watch out for the yellow slugs as they can damage you if you try to attack them while they are emitting electricity. Head back to the entrance of this area and follow the path east. Take the next path to the north to come to a fork. Deal with another nest down the right path then head to the left path to find Quack Dr. Boguta who will reward you with a Hot Dog for saving him.

Head back to the main path following it east. You’ll reach a room with a giant crack in the northern wall. Blow it up using a bomb then head through the hole. Open the chest to find a Gear Part. Work back towards the entrance of the mines to trigger a dialog event with Chuck near the storeroom. Head through the doorway Chuck came from and climb down the ladder. Use your frying pan to clear the obstacles out of your way then use a bomb to destroy the nearby nest. Destroy the other two nests in the room to finally end the slug threat. Return to the Dig Site entrance for a dialog event ending with you receiving 2 Sandrupe.

Ask Mason at the Sunnyside Ranch to fix John’s Pan

Leave the Dig Site and head to Potcrock Isle for a dialog event. Afterwards, enter Hello Grocery and speak with Chang to purchase a Memory Card for 25 salt then leave the store for another dialog event. This will lead to a tutorial on Earth Born. Follow the children’s instructions then try to win the fight. When the fight is over, you’ll receive a Slime (item for Earth Born) reward. With that out of the way, head for School Front north of the trailer park. Once there, follow the track with the bright white light east through a train tunnel to reach Sunnyside Ranch. Speak with Mason north of the track to fix the frying pan. You’ll then be tasked with getting the drupe in the loop. Follow the prompt to use a powerful attack to complete the challenge. After a dialog event, you’ll be rewarded with a Sandrupe.

Make Dinner for Sammy

Now that your trusty frying pan has been repaired, return to John’s house to make dinner for Sammy by interacting with the stove. Select the 3 Sandrupe to start cooking. You’ll get the Sandrupe Pasta recipe when finished followed by a dialog event.
