Eastward – A Berry Good Jam Walkthrough

Below is a walkthrough for A Berry Good Jam Chapter 3 quest in Eastward.

 

Visit the Hillman’s Ranch

Head downstairs to trigger a quick dialog event. When it concludes, make your way to the subway on Princess Avenue and take the train to the “Big” Station. Head north into the City Outskirts then take a right heading east through the next area. Follow the lake north to reach an area with zombies surrounded by tombstones. If you head to the northern wall and drop a bomb, that will blow a hole in the wall. Head through and fight off the four zombies inside. You’ll then be able to loot a chest containing an advanced gear part.

Exit the cave and keep heading west passing through a small rundown village. If you enter the abandoned house on the left, you’ll get an advanced gear part from a chest in the back left room behind all of the bramble. In the next area past the village, you’ll come to an area with two bamboo gates and a switch on both sides. Separate John and Sam then put one of them on the nearby switch to lower one of the gates. Move the other to the switch on the other side then switch back to the other to reach the other side. Proceed to the next area to find Hillman triggering a dialog event ending with you receiving the Glazy Berry.

 

Return to Rocket Mansion

Head back to the train station and use the train to return to New Dam City then return to Rocket Mansion for a dialog event.

Eastward – The Coin Palace Walkthrough

Below is a walkthrough for The Coin Palace Chapter 3 quest in Eastward.

 

Tie in with John

Go to the kitchen and speak with John to trigger a dialog event. When you gain control of Sam, exit the Rocket Palace for another dialog event.

 

Check out the coin palace

Leave Rocket Palace then head east along Princess Avenue to trigger a dialog event. Head for the Coin Palace north of Uptown. When you first get to Uptown, there will be a trashcan next to the house on the right. Interact with it to learn a secret. When you finally reach the Coin Palace, head inside and talk with Bucky behind the counter to trigger a dialog event where you’ll receive a Coin Palace Membership Card. Go to the backroom for another dialog event now that you have a shiny new membership card. Speak with the people in the gambling hall then use your Lucky Coin on the slot machine.

 

Go check on Sam

Leave the Rocket Mansion and head to Princess Avenue. If you have 250 salt, you can buy a Backpack Expansion in The Friendly Spendie on Princess Avenue. When you’re done with that, make your way to The Coin Palace and enter the backroom for a dialog event. When you gain control of John, head to the boss’s office at the end of the hall to trigger another dialog event.

 

Head back home for dinner

Exit the boss’s office and head down the hall. There will be a chest with 50 salt at the end just past the exit. Leave the palace to trigger a dialog event then return to the Rocket Mansion for dinner.

Baldo

Baldo The Guardian Owls – The Bakery Pantry

After you obtain the Owl Bomb in Baldo The Guardian Owls, use the bomb to blow up a wooden crate in front of the bakery in Rodia Town. Head through the small opening to arrive in The Bakery Pantry dungeon!

Defeat all the rats in this room then proceed through the door up the stairs. Again, defeat the rats in this room and push the wooden box towards the ladder to plug the hole they’re coming through.

Head on up the stairs. Throw a bomb at the large wooden crate to continue on.

In the next room, push the wooden crate trapped by a spider web to the northern side of the room to block the hole the rats are coming out of.

Head all the way back to the starting room. Defeat the rats in here again then use your bomb next to the torch on the wall.

The cracked wall will crumble, revealing a doorway. Head on through. Move the wooden crate in the northeastern side of this room to block the rats coming through then blow up the wall on the western side to reveal a path. Proceed forward and take out all the rats. Use the pots for the ones you can’t reach. Unlock the door at the end of the path and go through it. Push the boxes as shown below to create a path.

Afterwards, head down the stairs and stand on the pressure point to lower the gate blocking the door.

Push the last box into place and continue through the door. Defeat the rat boss. When he gets close, dodge past him when he swings at you then strike his back. He’ll raise up on a rope and hang from the ceiling. Little rats will spawn and the water will raise. Head to the northern corner and throw a bomb at the mechanism to lower the water, which will make it easier to dodge. After he’s been defeated, the cage trapping the cat will raise. Exit this room and head up the stairs. On the northern side, walk up the plank then enter the door.

Speak with the cat to find out that it’s Camuria! He’ll tell you to meet him at Maneko’s house so head on over there! When you speak with him there, he’ll give you the Cat Door Key. Next, head to Naneko Town and speak with Amu, the Cat King. He’ll tell you that the medallion will open a door to where the Key to the Furnace is held. The Owl Furnace is located to the highest, northernmost part of Leone Heights. Head to the northwestern part of town and use the key to unlock the door. Head inside to obtain The Great Owl Furnace Key. This will trigger the quest called The Owl Furnace.

Eastward – Chapter 3 Heart Orb Locations

Below is a guide on where to find the Heart Orbs in Chapter 3 of Eastward.

 

City Outskirts

From the start of the City Outskirts, head east passing the pond. Keep going east to reach the next area then take the path north to reach another area. Head past the first fence then take a right. After defeating the spikey enemies there, move east a little bit to see some cracked stone pillars blocking off a set of stairs. Drop a bomb then head down the stairs (be prepared to fight!). When you head far enough into the cave, the way out will be sealed and two teleporting cows show up. They teleport around the cave shooting milk at you. Dodge the milk and attack them when you can. A good way to deal some damage is to stun them with Sam, then using John’s frying pan to wail on them. After you defeat the two cows, head up the stairs to find a chest with the Heart Orb.

 

Old Town (past Grandpop’s House)

During the New Dam City quest, while looking for a slime-breeding forest, you’ll come to a road with a zombie and venus fly traps. The chest containing this Heart Orb can be found after crossing a bridge south of the road and following the southwestern path. This will bring you to an area guarded by three zombies. Defeat them to reach the chest.

 

New Dawn City

This Heart Orb can be obtained by helping Dwyane find the perfect dish during the chapter 3 quest, A Big Dam Plan. You’ll want to head to Uptown and speak with Dwayne near the bench, he’ll ask you to make him a burger set. Travel to the Coin Palace and speak with Mikey on the game floor to receive the Burger Set recipe. You’ll need meat, fish and fruit to cook the burger. This can be done in Lowtown (reachable through Dragon Market). Return to Dwayne and give him the burger. Speak with him again then go to Lowtown and talk with Big Jaw. Choose the “put up the dough” option to get the Vegetable Stir-Fry recipe. Use the stove in Lowtown to create the dish using vegetables. Take the stir-fry back to Dwayne and give it to him for another dialog event. When it ends, head to Jazz 21 and speak with Kurahachi1 to receive a Diet Set. You’ll need an egg, chicken and lobster to cook this dish. Those items can be found in The King Krab and The Friendly Spendie, but keep in mind that the items for sale change so you might have to do some other stuff until they appear. After cooking the Diet Set, take it to Dwyane for one last dialog event. When it ends, you’ll receive a Heart Orb.

 

New Daw City

This Heart Orb can be obtained from Mimi at the shrine in Uptown after listening to all of her ghost stories. You can hear the stories by interacting with scattered around the different areas in chapter 3. They are listed below:

  • Dragon Market
    • On the ground in the northwestern part of the area
  • Hot Springs
    • To the left of the main doors of the hot spring
  •  Lowtown
    • On a table in the western part of the area
  • Midtown
    • In an alleyway between two buildings (one of the buildings has a pig statue)
  • Princess Avenue
    • In an alley under a fan to the right of the path leading to Rocket Mansion

 

Quake Valley

This Heart Orb is located in a chest found at the eastern part of the area which you’ll access as part of the A Golden Feast quest.

Eastward – New Dam City Walkthrough

Below is a walkthrough for the New Dam City Chapter 3 quest in Eastward.

 

Tie in with Sammy and Jasper

Speak with Sammy and Jasper on the train to trigger a dialog event.

 

Explore New Dam City

Exit the train station and head south to reach Uptown. Keep heading south passing through the Buddha Fan arriving on Princess Avenue. Speak with Mr. Board who can be found standing on a stool near two other people for a dialog event.

 

Head to Alva’s Lab at the Rocket Mansion

Head east of Mr. Board then go north past the kid near the shutter (if you want to experience a ghost story, interact with the statue in front of the fan to the right of the northern path). Enter Rocket Mansion and head up the stairs. Interact with the door to trigger a dialog event. Head up the second set of stairs then proceed through the door to arrive at Alva’s Lab. Walk up the stairs, climb the ladder then head through the door to trigger another dialog event. Use the stairs at the back of the room to reach a workbench with a wrench sitting it. Grab it and bring it to Alva. This leads to yet another dialog event where you’ll be given a code name and Lab Assistant Badge.

 

Retrieve a slime-breeding furnace from Oldtown.

Exit Rocket Mansion then head to Princess Avenue.  Take the stairs south of Mr. Board to reach Midtown then keep head south towards Oldtown. One of the shops in Midtown has three kids playing Earth Born. If you speak with them, a dialog event will trigger. When you near Oldtown, you’ll notice a commotion going in the middle of the street. Head east down the road and speak with the group to trigger a dialog event.

 

Clear the monsters out of the station

Head south to reach the City Outskirts and follow the pat east passing a pond. Keep going east to reach the next area then take the path north to enter another area. Head past the first fence then take a right. After defeating the spikey enemies there, move east a little bit to see some cracked stone pillars blocking off a set of stairs south of you. Drop a bomb then head down the stairs (be prepared to fight!). When you head far enough into the cave, the way out will be sealed and two hostile cows show up who like to teleport around the cave shooting milk at you. Dodge the milk and take the hits you can get. A good way to deal some damage is to stun them with Sam then hit them with John’s frying pan. After you defeat the two cows, head up the stairs to find a chest with a Heart Orb. Exit the cave then keep traveling east. In the next area, you’ll run into a big flying bug that summons little bugs. Continue eastward eventually you’ll follow the river south past a duck shooting duck grenades. If you take the southern exit, you’ll find a chest with 3 fish. Take the eastern exit to press on. Work your way north using the raft to cross the river. When you reach the stone steps guarded by two statues, you can follow the past east to reach a camp where you can save and heal up. When you’re ready, head up the stone steps to arrive at The “Big” Station. Defeat the two bird enemies here to trigger a dialog event.

 

Head to Oldtown in search of a Slime-Breeding furnace

Head north through The “Big” Station to reach the City Outskirts. Head west following the path through a dark forest to reach Oldtown. Follow the path north using Sam’s ability to clear the miasma. If you clear the miasma from the building with all the creates, you can find a chest with a gear part there. Be mindful that the miasma comes back after a bit. Head into the building north of you following the zombie the head north through the room to reach the back alley. Follow the way west using Sam to clear the miasma. In the next area, follow the sidewalk east and enter the last house at the end of the block.

In this room, there is a giant wooden crate on the left and right sides of the room. Move the left one up as far as you can then do the same to the right one. Now use the top path to reach the other side of the left crate and push it south blocking the entrance. Finally, pull the right crate down a little bit, then head through the northern doorway bringing you to another alleyway. Here you’ll need to use your gun and bombs to break the glass orbs. Doing so will destroy the plants blocking your way. Follow the alleyway and enter the building at the end. Inside use Sam to reach the right side of the room, then destroy the orb with John. This will clear out the plants allowing you to access the closest containing a key. Exit the building by heading south then head east. The next area will have a locked door. Use the Key to open it then head through and follow the path. You’ll enter an alley that will lock behind you. Defeat the crows then head through the southern doorway to arrive at Grandpop’s House. Save at the fridge if you wish then grab the slime-breeding furnace from the table to trigger a dialog event.

Use the Scepter of  Flame aka the flamethrower to burn the plants blocking the building then head through the doorway. Place a bomb near the explosive barrels in the left room to blast out the wall and head through. Go north past the chainlink fence and use your flamethrower to burn the plants blocking the door on the left the head through it. Keep moving forward then take a left before the doorway towards the spikey flowers. Use the flamethrower to clear the way and follow it to enter a room with a chest containing a Friends of Johnny card. Return to the doorway and head through it. Work your way through the house then head through the doorway in the top right. Place Sam on the platform in the middle room then move John to the platform in the left room. This will allow Sam to enter the right room containing a chest with an advanced gear part. Return to the previous room and exit the home through the door due south.

Follow the alley east looting the chest with 3 tomatoes along the way. Keep heading forward and you’ll eventually pass a road with a zombie and a couple of venus fly traps. Just after crossing the bridge south of this road, take the southwestern path to reach a chest with a Heart Orb guarded by three zombies. Then take the path leading east crossing another bridge and use the flamethrower to burn the vines off the door. Head through then break all of the orbs to prevent the flowers from growing back. When you reach the room with a floor switch, move the nearby pillar onto the switch then head through the southern doorway to reach the Bramble Garden.

Send Sam through the tunnel then use John to clear the bramble and Sam to clear the miasma. Step on the switch southeast of where you exited the tunnel to open the fence for John to pass through. This will lead you back to Old Town. Follow the path with John bringing him near the vending machine, then shoot the bramble on the other side of the fence with the flamethrower. Switch to Sam and flip the newly accessible switch to open the gate. Stock up on any healing items from the machine then enter the building to find a save point. Save the game and head down the stairs when you’re ready to enter the Human Factory. Head south through two areas then take the northwestern tunnel. Approach the green monitor on the western side of the room to trigger a dialog event. Return to the previous room to start a boss fight with one of the machines. It drops bombs and shoots bullets at you so dodge and counterattack accordingly. When it’s defeated, use the northeastern tunnel to reach the next area then head through the western tunnel. Now head through the door here and follow the walkway west to once again reach Grandpop’s House. Approach the building to trigger a dialog event then you can finally take the slime-breeding furnace!

 

Report back to Alva

Backtrack to The “Big” Station. When you exit Oldtown, use the flamethrower on the bramble in the ruined structure south of you to find a chest with a gear part. When you get close to the station a dialog event triggers transporting you back to New Dam City where you’ll receive a Subway Pass. Make your way to Alva’s Lab in Rocket Mansion to trigger a cutscene. When you gain control of John, head into the kitchen and help Sam with dinner.

Eastward – MIASMA Walkthrough

Below is a walkthrough for the MIASMA Chapter 2 quest in Eastward.

 

Head to the station

Pick up Sam and head for the station.  Follow the path south of the Huner’s Cabin then head on the raft and use it to cross the lake. From there just keep following the path (it’s pretty linear) to arrive at the Forest Entrance. From this point on, the miasma will be chasing behind you. If it catches you then it will deal damage until you run out of hearts. You’ll want to use your Bang-Bang Gun on the snakes to move past them quickly while switching to your frying pan to remove any obstacles. When you reach the area before the Strange Facility a dialog event occurs.

Eastward – Chapter 2 Heart Orb Locations

Below is a guide on where to find the Heart Orbs in Chapter 2 of Eastward.

 

Forest Entrance

This Heart Orb can be found in a chest at the Forest Entrance. You can reach it during the An Uninvited Guest quest from the Blimpig Ranch. You’ll want to use the raft here to cross the river, then head east to reach the Forest Entrance. The chest will be through a tunnel between two trees. You’ll have to send Sam in to reach it.

 

Strange Forest

This Heart Orb can be found on an island in the Strange Forest during the An Uninvited Guest quest. You’ll need to use a raft to reach the island.

Eastward – An Uninvited Guest Walkthrough

Below is a walkthrough for the An Uninvited Guest Chapter 2 quest in Eastward.

 

Investigate the disturbance at Blimpig Ranch

Make your way to the ranch for a quick dialog event then hop on the raft and use it to reach the other side of the lake. Head east to arrive at the Forest Entrance. Switch to Sam and head through the tunnel to find a chest containing a Heart Orb. Return to John and continue heading deeper into the forest to the next area. Pass the broken down vehicle then take the next path leading north. Use your newly acquired Bang-Bang Gun to shoot the spikey enemy guarding the chest. Open it to receive a gear part then head back near the broken down vehicle and take the path leading south.

In the next area, head east watching out for the duck flower that shoots exploding duck heads. Take the stairs down to the dock with three wooden rafts. Get on the second raft on the left and move it beside the other raft on the right. Next, get onto the 1st raft on the left and use it to reach the other side of the river. You’ll then need to switch over to Sam and use her to remove the plants blocking the western part of the river then back to John so you can move the raft east before the flowers grow back.

Move the raft north then head to the raft on your left and move it north too. Drop a bomb near the cracked wall then head through the hole. Defeat the two enemies hiding in the pots operating Sam from John and leaving her on the platform when you’re done. Head through the door with John and get onto the raft. Move it west then north so it’s next to your previous raft. Bring Sam to the raft then use John to send the raft east. Quickly switch back to Sam and clear the flowers out of the way with her ability.  When you hit the wall on the other side, move the raft north. When it stops, send it back down south using Sam to remove the flowers that block your path. Exit the raft and head south to the next area.

 

Follow the path east to end up in a room filled with pots that will lock behind you. Defeat the enemies to unlock the doors, then the door on the right to find a closet with a key. Return to the raft and send it north using Sam to destroy the flowers in your path. Then go east to reach another dock with a locked door just past it. Unlock the door with your key then head through to reach the next area.

Fight your way through the slugs and flies in the next area swapping between Sam and John as needed to emerge from the cave into the Strange Forest. Follow the path east and you’ll eventually cross a school bus bridge. If you destroy the barrels on the right and follow that path to the next area, you’ll come across an island that has a chest with a Heart Orb on it. Return to the school bus and follow the path southwest to reach the next area.

Work your way through this area fighting the enemies as you go. When you head down a flight of stairs, there will be a chest to the right with 50 salt being guarded by two spikey enemies. Use the Bang-Bang Gun to make quick work of them then loot the chest. Continue following the green balloon pit to the next area. Head to the three rafts and sent the most left one north. Get on to the first raft of the two sitting next to each other and sent it east. When it stops, you’ll be at a rest area. Loot the chest north of the bed to receive 3 milk. Heal and save if you wish then hop on the southern other raft and send it north using Sam to clear the plants out of the way.

In the cave, follow the path chasing after the beast. When you reach the vending machine, get prepared because it’s Boss time! You’ll be fighting a mutated creature that shoots from its hands and launches grenades (that you can’t hit with the frying pan). You’ll want to use the two pillars in the map as cover from the bullets while shooting back at it with your Bang-Bang Gun. Hit the create with a bullet causes it to drop a grenade If you’re lucky it will be in the blast radius of the grenade dealing extra damage. Once the boss goes down, a dialog event triggers.

When you gain control of John and Sam, head through the tunnel the boss was guarding. Keep heading forward until another dialog event triggers.

 

Escape the strange facility

Follow the metal walkway east, heading north at the end then take a left along the conveyor belt. Head through the door at the end of the path. In the next room, follow the walkway left to enter a room with a chest containing a gear part. Return to the previous room then approach the green monitor below the three eyeballs to trigger a dialog event. Backtrack to the room with the conveyor belt following it east then head north passing through a doorway for another dialog event. When you gain control of John, head through the door at the northern part of the room. Follow the hallway taking a right to trigger another dialog event.

 

Head to the harvest festival

Exit the Station Lobby and make your way back to Greenberg. Once in town, head to the Woodwhale to trigger a dialog event. When you gain control of John exit the town to trigger another dialog event. You can speak with the people are town on the way out if you want.

Eastward – Greenberg Walkthrough

Below is a walkthrough for the Greenburg Chapter 2 quest in Eastward.

 

Check in with Sammy

Speak to Sammy and Jasper to trigger a dialog event.

 

Explore Greenberg

Exit the train station then use the wooden elevator along the southern part of the area. When you reach the bottom, head south to reach the Mountain Pass. Follow the road east past a bus stop to come across a broken down RV with a save point next to it. Save it (if you want) then keep following the road east to reach the next area. Follow the trail south (there’s a chest to the right of the stairs in the forest that has 50 salt) heading to the Valley eventually triggering a dialog event when you find the lady with a dog. Follow Uva into the village then speak with the villagers as you make your way to the Mayor. Approaching him and Uva will trigger a dialog event.

 

Get some rest at the cabin

Enter the Woodwhale behind the Mayor to find a chest containing 50 salt. There is another chest behind the Woodwhale with another 50 salf. Another chest with 3 tokens can be found in the west field south of an old barn. The entrance to the wheat field is to the right of the Woodwhale next to Helen’s boat. You can also head to K.K. Dog’s (yellow boat SE of the village with a duck swimming in it) to purchase a Backpack Extension for 150 salt from Captain Bristles.  When you’re done looking around town exit the village to trigger a dialog event then make your way for the cabin. You’ll have to backtrack to the forest near the Mountain Pass. Follow the northeastern trail eventually heading over a stone bridge leading to the Hunter’s Cabin. Enter the cabin to trigger a dialog event then exit the cabin for another one.

 

Head to the Blimpig Ranch

Follow the trail south of the cabin to reach the Forest Entrance then hop on the raft and use it to cross the river by using one of John’s charged attacks. Now head east to trigger another dialog event at the ranch. Head into the ranch as John and use you’re frying pan to wrangle all five of the Blimpigs into the pen. This leads to a quick dialog event, and you’ll receive the Blimpig Ranch Seal of Approval.

 

Head to Greenberg for dinner

Make your way back to Greenberg then head for the Woodwhale to find Uva. If you want, you can check in with Jasper along the way. Approaching Uva triggers a dialog event. When you gain control of John, speak to Uva then exit the town and head back to the cabin.
