Baldo The Guardian Owls – Royal Gardens / The Underground / Castle

Baldo

Below is a walkthrough of the Royal Gardens / The Underground / Castle dungeon in Baldo The Guardian Owls. You’ll come here during the Meet Luna in Rodia Town main quest!

Meet Luna in Rodia Town Quest

To first reach the Royal Gardens, you’ll want to head to Rodia Town via the main bridge and make your way to Odessa the herbalist’s shop, which is in the northeastern part of town. Head to the bottom of her store to find an exit leading to her garden. Dig up the left most plot to find a set of stairs leading down. Climb on down and follow the path to arrive in the Royal Gardens.

Before you begin dodging the guards, push out the small box to your left just before the gate with the octopus to create a shortcut! Cut down the brush when your ready to proceed into the dodging maze! Take the first right then head straight, passing an opening on the left. Take the next left then slip into the opening behind the guard.

Pick up the pot in this section and throw it behind the guard to cause him to turn. Head to the left side of the area near the center aisle and push out the box. When the guard is not looking quickly cross to the other side.

Pick up a pot in this area and throw it behind the guard on the north side to cause him to look away.

With both guards now looking away from the center aisle head up it be careful of the guards on either side of the fountain. Wait for a guard to pass by then push forward on the other side. Quickly climb up the stairs and wait for the guard at the top to look out from the balcony.

Slip behind him then cut the grass right in the middle of the grand staircase with a guard posted on each side. Cutting the greenery will reveal a hidden doorway.

Enter through it to reach The Underground!

Grab the pot straight ahead and bring it to the platform in the room while avoiding the spiders. Crouch through the hidden area revealed by the platform.

In the next room, defeat the 2 spiders to reveal a lever coming out of a fish’s mouth on the wall in the dark.

Throw a pot at it to lower a ladder onto the wooden platform. Ascend to trigger a brief cutscene. Explore as you like but you’re bound to get caught. When you are, you’ll be thrown in the Castle Jail. On the left side of the cell look for a patch of dirt to dig up. Do so to reveal a pressure point. Push the stone onto the pressure point to open the door.

In the corner to the left of the table, you’ll see 2 boxes.

Push the one closest to the wall to reveal a hidden passage. Crouch inside to find the Dungeon Key. Return to the previous room and use it on the door to the far right. Head up the stairs and enter through the next door. Be careful of the guard straight ahead. Look on the left side of the room to find a box. Swing around the plant on a pedestal and the pot to push the box out of the way.

Crouch through the space and follow the path forward to find a chest containing 50 Dindi. Crouch through another space then quickly make your way through the door on the northwest side of the screen as a guard approaches from the bottom of the screen.

If you get caught, you’ll get thrown back in the Castle Jail and have to escape again. Once through that door. Proceed forward and at the base of the stairs, pick up the pot and head up the right side.

Throw the pot near the guard to cause him to turn around. Head back down the stairs and proceed up the other side and go through the door on the left.

There is a guard in this room! Follow behind him as he makes his way down the hall. When he stops at a table, wait on the other side of it until he turns around then proceed forward.

Do the same thing in the next room.

After you arrive in the next room, wait for the guard to walk forward then enter the door that has an octopus on it.

Once inside head forward a short way to trigger a cutscene! You’ll complete the Meet Luna in Rodia Town quest, but you’re not done with this place yet!

Treasure for Tero Item

In Luna’s room, push the blue vase into its position along the wall to reveal a hidden door in the wardrobe.

Head through to find a room containing a chest, which has a Dungeon Key in it. Crouch through the space diagonally from the chest to continue on into the kitchen. Head through the kitchen to enter the door on the opposite side bringing you to a familiar hallway. Head through the door on the left and proceed up the stairs this time going through the main door at the top.

You’ll enter another hallway with a symbol on the red carpet. Proceed to the right and enter through the door at the end of the path. Continue forward, passing the guard and going up the stairs, to reach a door with an octopus on it. Open the door with a key then continue through it. Be careful in this room as there are a lot of spiders. You must take care of them in order to proceed. After you defeat the spiders, grab the Ancient Royal Item from the chest.

The Owl Village Item

Enter the castle via the main doors in the Royal Garden. Head straight ahead and go through the door just past the fireplace with an owl painting above it on the right side.

Go through this hallway and enter through a door at the end to reach a room with a mosaic circle in the middle. Head through the door on the left.

In this room, have Luna wait on the pressure point in front of the statues and you’ll need to stand on the other to open the door with an octopus on it.

In the next room, you’ll need to place the colored pots with stacks of books on top of them onto the circle in front of their matching vase. The black bot can be found next to the sitting area on the right. The blue pot is located in the top left corner. The red pot is in front of the blue vase. Once all pots have been correctly placed, a bookshelf will move revealing an entrance.

Head inside and play the Guardian Horn on the guardian symbol. Loot the chest to receive the Owl Village Key!
