Below is a walkthrough for the Level 32 side quest called The Way Home in Horizon Forbidden West. To obtain this quest, speak with Kristia and Harriem on a ship at Legacy’s Landfall, however, you won’t be able to make progress in this quest until after completing the Wings of the Ten main quest.
Fly to the Shipwreck
Travel to the objective east of Legacy’s Landfall on your bird.
Kill the Machines
If you’d like, kill all the machines in the area to make searching easier or just sneak past them.
Search the Shipwreck for the Gyrocompass
Located the ship on the east side of the island.
Search the Scrap Piles for the Gyrocompass
Loot the scrap piles near the wrecked ship. It will have a purple marker sticking out of it. We found ours under a broken bridge.
Return to Harriem and Kristia
Make your way back to Legacy’s Landfall and speak with Harriem and Kristia.
Go to the Ancient Shipwreck Site
Travel to the objective on the southwestern side of the Isle of Spires to find the shipwreck.
Search the Site for Shipwrecks
One battery can be found in a shipwreck on the beach near the Slaughterspine.
Another ship can be found jetting out in the water. Dive under the water to find the batteries laying on the ocean floor under the ship. Inspect the antenna on this ship to search for the sensor unit.
Go to the Coordinates of the Transmission
Travel to the objective in the northern part of the Isle of Spires near the Vista Point.
Kill the Dreadwing
Once there, defeat the Dreadwing flying overhead.
Gather the Sensor Unit
Fly to the top of the wrecked ship and inspect the antenna to pick up the sensor unit.
Deliver the Parts to Harriem and Kristia
Return to Legacy’s Landfall and speak with Harriem and Krisita to complete the quest.
