Below is a walkthrough for The Weight of Chains favor in God of War Ragnarok (GOWR). To obtain this favor, approach Lyngbakr Island north of The Watchtower.
Find the key on the island
When facing the gate near the dock, blow up the firepot to the right then head up the path.
You’ll then be attacked by a horde of Wretches. Quickly run up the hill and destroy the nest to prevent more from spawning. Climb up the ledge then blow up the firepot. Keep working your way up to the top. At the top, you’ll have to take care of another Wretch horde. After you deal with them, use the nearby gear to lower the bridge then throw your axe at the target to freeze the bridge in place. Return to the ledge then follow it to the right to reach the top of the elevator. Slam down into the ground where its cracked then defeat the monsters inside. Afterwards, loot the chest to receive the Watchtower Key.
Bring the key to the watchtower
Next, travel south to The Watchtower. When you arrive, use the key on the locked gate then head inside and hit the drum.
Return to the creature
Travel to Lyngbakr Island then climb up to the top of the monster.
Free the Lyngbakr
Once there, you’ll have to fight off a round of enemies. Head to the eastern gate then destroy the nearby flame pot. Go inside and destroy the first chain. You’ll have to throw your axe to finish breaking the chain. Next, head to the southwestern part of the creature then follow the path to reach a chain. Climb up the chain. Grapple using the crane in front of you to reach the other side.
Follow the path and climb down the chain to find the second chain to break. Do so then defeat the nest that spawns. Use the fire bomb to destroy the gold blocking the northern path. Head back and grab another fire bomb them head down the path you just opened and throw the bomb at the gold blocking the dock across the way.
Return to your boat then head to the newly accessible dock. Climb up the side of the creature then follow the path to reach the last chain. Break it then slide down the nearby zipline. Once at the bottom, throw your axe to release the creature’s tail.
Boat to the Lyngbakr’s eye
Return to your boat then head to the left eye of the creature to trigger a cutscene. Afterwards, the favor will complete.
