The Resurrect the Rex side quest in Dead Island 2 unlocks when you get fast travel during The Final Gauntlet story quest. Make your way over to Beverly Hills and speak with Rikky in the party house on the eastern side of the area.
He’ll need you to collect the master tapes in Farouk’s house down the hill. Make your way to his house. Once inside, take out Farouk then collect the Axe Me Nicely: The Album he drops. For the next tape, head to the second level and break the boxes on the southwestern side to reveal a generator. Turn it off then head to the opposite side to find Puking Excellence: The Tour.
For the last tape, make your way upstairs to find an entourage waiting for you.
When you’re ready to take them on, open the door! After you’re done slaying, collect the Hair on a G-String: B-Sides from the footrest. With all the tapes collected, return to Rikky to hand them over and the quest will complete. As a reward, you’ll receive 2,000 XP and a rare Electrocutor Pole Saw.
