The Fool’s Gold lost and found quest in Dead Island 2 is obtained after defeating Dante who spawns at the base of the broken stairs leading to the safe room in the Lifeguard HQ at Santa Monica.
We found him there during the Boardwalking Dead story quest. Make sure to grab Randy’s Locker Key and A Totally Legit Letter journal from where Dante falls. For this quest, ransack Randy’s locker, which can be found in the Lifeguard HQ just past all the workout equipment.
You’ll receive the Deep Shit journal. The journal will tell you the last locations of J and B. To find the ice cream shop by the wheel, make your way to the ferris wheel on the pier.
Behind the nearby ice cream shop, collect the Meeting of the Minds journal from the bench.
To find the frozen yogurt shop down the alley by the stores, head to the very northern part of the map just west of Luigi’s Pizzeria. Head to the alley west of the shop to find the Flaws in the Plan journal.
Now that you have both pieces to the code, return to the Lifeguard HQ. The safe is buried just outside of it on the southeastern side.
Once you approach this side, a horde of zombies will spawn in. Take them all out then dig up the partially buried safe. Afterwards, the quest will complete and you’ll receive receive 2,000 XP, Superior Melee Liquidator Mod and the Blood Rage!!
