Blue Enemy of Love! Subquest MHS Velocidrome

Before engaging with the Velocidrome, make sure you have plenty of Herbs on you to heal when needed as this Monster can hit hard in the early stages of the game. Starting out, it will use speed attacks, so you’ll want to counter those by using some technical attacks. Pay special attention to when you knock down, win a head-to-head, or for the Velocidrome to show signs that it’s almost defeated. In these types of situations, its next attack will be a power one, so make sure to switch to speed so you’re not caught off guard. Once the Monster is slain, you’ll complete the objective for the subquest. Return to the Quest Board in the village and interact with it to turn in the subquest and receive your rewards.

Hermitaur Repelling Subquest MHS Hermitaur Image

Some things to keep in mind while fighting them. They use technical attacks so power is going to be your friend for this fight. Also, the Hermituars like to enter a defense stance to buff their defense. This also allows them to reflect a majority of the damage you deal to them during your next attack back at you for additional damage. It is because of this that it would be a good idea to make sure you are stocked up on Herbs before you challenge them. Once you’ve taken down 5, return to the Quest Board in the village to complete the subquest and receive your rewards.

Rewards

Upon completing the Hermitaur Repelling subquest, you’ll be rewarded with 3 Whetstones and 400 Zenny.

To Pondry Hills! Subquest

You can accept this quest from the Quest Board in Hakum Village after you unlock the Catavan. The Catavan Company is looking for local commeowdities for their public relations campaign. To that end, they are requesting that you provide them with 5 points of Pondry Hills Commodities in the form of Unique Mushrooms (1pt), Silver Crickets (2pts), Auristone Pieces (2pts), or Small Goldenfish (3pts). You can find the Unique Mushrooms around the Pondry Hills area by randomly picking up orange or blue mushrooms. Silver Crickets can be found in insect spots near flowers or you received some as a reward from one of the other subquests. Auristone can be gathered from the yellow ore veins and you can fish up the Goldenfish at the lake. Deliver the items to complete the subquest and receive your rewards of a Pass Paw Ticket and 400 Zenny.

Onward to Danj!

This subquest can be accepted at the Quest Board in Gildegaran after meeting the elder of the Hunters. Similar to the To Pondry Hills! subquest, the Catavan Company is searching for some regional commeowdities again, but this time from the Darj Snowfields. To complete this subquest, you’ll need to deliver 5pts of regional materials to them which happen to be Snowflowers (1pt) and Bloodstone (2pts). If you’ve been collecting things regularly, then you’ll most likely have these materials ready to go. If not, travel to the Darj Snow Fields and scour the area looking for flowers and yellow ore veins. You can also find these materials in Monster Dens. Once you have enough, return to the Quest Board and deliver them to complete the request and receive your rewards (Paw Pass Ticket x1 and 600z)!

Monster Weakness and Attack Patterns

We’ll do our best to be as accurate as possible for each monster attack pattern, but we wanted to mention that RNG is still a factor so something might not match up 100% or a monster might not always do what it normally does!

Bullfango

Bullfandos are simple creatures that like to use power-type attacks that you can counter with some technical-typed attacks of your own. They also will use Power Charge often which boosts their attack on the next turn so that it deals more damage.

Iodrome

Iodrome will use speed attacks most of the time. After winning a power clash its first attack will be power-based. Also, note that Iodrome will try to poison both your active Monstie and your Rider.

Khezu

The Khezu prefers using technical attacks, so counter them with power-type moves. Be cautious of its Roar skill, which can knock you down and let it deal extra damage. Keep an eye out for its Sav Thunder Breath, as it throws an electric ball that causes high damage. Once enraged, it will use Electric Discharge, hitting both your Rider and Monstie and possibly causing paralysis. It will also occasionally use power-type attacks.

Lagombi

Lagombi default attack type is technical which can be countered using technical-type attacks. It will also use its Snowball skill which hits the target three times and locks their skill for a couple of turns. Also after taking some damage, the rabbit will start throwing in some power attacks that you’ll need to counter with a speed-type attack. Pay attention for if it looks angrier or if you notice a red vein symbol appearing above it’s head to indicate this.

Popo

The moose-like Popo typically fights using the Snow Shroud skill with deals damage to the target and seals their skills for a couple of turns. When they aren’t doing that, they tend to use power-type attacks that you can counter with speed-type attacks of your own.

Velocidrome

The Velocidrome will use speed attacks for the majority of the encounters. You’ll want to watch out for when you knock it down, win a power clash, or when its HP gets low and it starts acting like it’s about to keel over. In those situations, its next attack will be a power once so you’ll need to counter with a speed attack of your own.

Zamite

Zamites are smaller more annoying versions of the Zamtrios. They like to use two skills, Overpower and Bloodsuck. Overpower will drop the target’s defense while Bloodsuck deals damage to the target while healing the Zamite. When they aren’t using one of those two skills, they will use a technical-typed attack which can be countered with power-type attacks.

Zamtrios

Zamtrios usually attack with technical moves, so counter with power attacks. It often uses its Ice Armor skill, covering itself in ice spikes to boost its defense. After a Power Clash victory, Zamtrios tends to follow up with a power attack, so hit it with a speed attack. It can also use Spread Frost Breath, which targets both your Rider and Monstie, with a chance to seal their skills for a few turns. When it’s angry, it starts adding technical attacks to its mix.
