Below is a walkthrough for The Castle Beckons standard quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. This quest is obtained automatically as part of the story in Chapter 5.
Hop in the boat and head north to the objective at Vinisog Holm. When the cutscene concludes, travel to the next objective. When you arrive a cutscene will trigger followed by a battle with 2 Level 46 Testudo. Reinforcements will be called in as well. Defeat them all to trigger another cutscene.
Afterwards, you’ll need to make your way to the next objective at the Erythia Relay Base. To reach this area, you’ll need to travel to the Seaspray Lookout landmark to the east in Anu Shoals then rope slide a few times. Once you arrive, head inside the compound and work your way to the objective, dealing with the enemies as you go. When you arrive in the Data Archives, interact with the terminal.
Now that you have completed the topic, return to Vinisog Holm rest spot and discuss it. Afterwards, the quest will complete!
Below is a walkthrough for the Distress Signal standard quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. To obtain this quest, listen to the 5 conversations around Colony Mu then discuss the What Washed Ashore topic at the canteen.
Afterwards, make your way to Twinpalm Isle, which is a small island to the southeast of the colony. Once there, speak with Niranira. When the cutscene concludes, travel to Lavi Sandbar, the large island to the northeast of Twinpalm Isle. If you’ve already been here, fast travel to the Third Pillar Remnant landmark. Upon your arrival, make your way to the objective to trigger a cutscene. Follow after Niranira until a cutscene triggers atop a hill. Head into the sand pit that ate Niranira to find an underground cave. Once inside, speak with Niranira. After the furball disappears again, exit the cave then make your way on top of it to find the Sandbar Ferronis Hulk. Speak with Niranira at the hulk. Afterwards, return to Colony Mu and approach the objective. When the cutscene concludes, so will the quest.

After gathering all the ingredients, return to Colony Mu and approach the objective to trigger a cutscene.
