Finders Weepers
Obtained: Interact with the book lying on the ground next to a gate in the southeastern part of the area.
When you pick up the book, you’ll discover it’s a diary. Peek inside to be posed with a question. The correct answers are listed below. Once you respond, physically leave Gion then return to check on the diary. You’ll be presented with a new question!
All love is precious.
Try getting to know him.
Better to be simple and direct.
After responding with the last answer, return one more time and approach the two people in front of the shrine. When the cutscene finishes, so will the substory.
Soft and Supple
Obtained: Speak with the man near the Palanquin Bearers in the northern part of the area
When you’re ready, tell him “Fine” to meet a gorgeous creature. You’ll need to choose between the following options:
Someone diligent and tireless.
Someone deft at giving pleasure.
Someone with a perfect body.
You’re option doesn’t matter as you’ll be greeted by a sumo wrestler! Surprise!! Not quite what you were thinking, eh? You’ll then be asked to fork over 10 ryo or battle 3 sumo wrestlers. We chose to fight our way out! Afterwards, the substory ended.

The Revolutionary Chef
Obtained: Approach the man just west of Kasuga
He’ll want a dish made by your own hand. Head to Ryoma’s villa and scrounge up a dish in your kitchen. Any meal will do. Once you’ve created one, return to the Chef and hand it over to complete the substory.
Reward: Bond with Revolutionary Chef
The Sexy Madam
Obtained: Speak with Sexy Madam outside of Kitchen Aoba.
When you speak with the suggestive lady, give her a cucumber. You can either grow and harvest one at Ryoma’s villa or purchase it. For a listing of where to purchase cucumbers, click here! Once you have a cucumber, hand it to her to complete the substory!
Agnea is one of the 8 playable characters in Octopath Traveler II. She is a Dancer allowing her to use the Allure and Entreat Path Actions. Cropdale
If you didn’t start with Agnea, you’ll need to travel to Cropdale in the Leaflands which can be found on the western continent. You can reach it by traveling northwest from Canalbrine in the Harborlads. To reach the Harborlands, sail there from either Beasting Bay: Anchorage in Toto’Hana of the southeastern continent or New Delsta Harbor: Anchorage in the Brightlands of the northwestern continent. Once in Cropdale, There will be a sparkling item on the ground near the savepoint. Interact with it to receive the Purse of Hope. This will trigger a cutscene where Agnea will show up along with her sister Pala. Pala will ask if you’ll take Agnea with you on your journey. Choose “Yes” when prompted for her to join the party. You’ll then be asked if you want to see the beginning of Agnea’s tale. Choose “Yes” to officially start Chapter 1.
Cropdale
When you gain control of Agnea, head to the two people with green dialog bubbles above their heads and use her Entreat Path Action to collect some tips. Collecting both will trigger a cutscene. After it ends, exit the bar and head to Agnea’s house west of the savepoint. There are a couple of villagers you can use Entreat on along the way. After you enter the house, another cutscene will trigger. During the next day, exit Agena’s house and head north exiting the village to the Forest Path.
Forest Path
Head north up the path until you reach the save point. Follow the northwestern path to find a chest containing a Healing Grape then return to the savepoint and take the northern path to the right of it to reach the Festival Grounds.
Festival Grounds
As soon as you reach the Festival Grounds a cutscene will trigger. You’ll then be asked to grab some people to help move things around using the Allure Path Action. Make sure to grab the chest on the right side of the stage with 500 leaves. You’ll then need to find the two villagers below on the Forest Path and in Cropdale then bring them back to the head villager. Please note that you can only do one at a time. After delivering the second villager a cutscene will trigger. You can only recruit one villager to bring with you so grab the one you like then head for Forest Path. You may want to grab the Minstrel that can use Wind magic to help with an upcoming boss fight if you can’t decide.

Forest Path
Once on the Forest Path, travel west past the save point and over a bridge. South of the fence by the bridge you can find a chest with a Wind Soulstone inside. There is also a dock on the nearby stream you can use to sail to an abandoned house with a chest inside containing some Fur Armor. From there travel to the northwest part of the area to reach the Veil of Trees.

Veil of Trees
If you the dock near the entrance to the Veil of Trees on the Forest Path, you can sail west to the Veil of Trees to find a chest containing a Sprightly Ring. Return to the main entrance to the Veil of Tress and follow that path northwest. Make sure to grab the chest with a Healing Grape before the log bridge and another one containing an Inspiriting Plum at the end of the southern path past the bridge. Continue following the path forward passing under a fallen tree. There will be another fallen tree on the right ahead you can use to reach a chest with a Slippery Nut inside. Return to the path and follow it north to reach a merchant next to a savepoint. You may want to stock up on healing items and upgrade Agnea’s equipment if needed. Save your game then travel west to trigger a cutscene leading to a boss fight.

Boss Fight: Duorduor
For this fight, you’ll be fighting the giant boar Duorduor. He uses a lot of physical attacks including an AOE attack and can stun your one of your party members for a turn. When the boar becomes surrounded in a purple mist, you’ll want to break it or defend as its attack deals massive damage to one of your characters. When the Duorduor reaches half health, it will summon allies to join in on the battle. Agnea will also unlock her Latent Power which allows her to make a single target skill affect all enemies or allies. The boar will also be able to heal some damage at this stage as well so watch out for that. Once you defeat the boar and its allies the battle will end and a cutscene will trigger.

Oresrush
If you didn’t start with Partitio, then you’ll need to travel to Oresrush in the Wildlands which can be found on the western continent. You can reach it by traveling northwest from Canalbrine in the Harborlads. To reach the Harborlands, sail there from either Beasting Bay: Anchorage in Toto’Hana of the southeastern continent or New Delsta Harbor: Anchorage in the Brightlands of the northwestern continent. Once there head up the dirt path west of the town entrance to find Partitio on the right side of his house overlooking the town. Speak with him then select “Yes” when prompted for him to join the party. You’ll then be asked if you want to view the beginning of his tale. Select “Yes” to officially start Chapter 1.
When you gain control of Partitio, make your way down into the camp where you’ll be introduced to his Path Action, Purchase. Head to the Merchant in the back of the camp with a green dialog bubble over his head and use your Path Action to select the Dubious Silver Nugget. You can also use Purchase on the people in the camp to pick up additional items if you want. When you’re ready, return to Papp to trigger a cutscene.
After the cutscene, head to the southwestern part of town to find Papp near his house. Approach him to trigger another cutscene. After it ends, you’ll be introduced to Partitio’s Hire Path Action. Use it to hire someone then use the eastern exit to reach the Silver Mine.
Silver Mine
At the mine, head up to the middle area to find a chest with a Healing Grape. You may also want to level a bit before reaching the top of the mine. When you’re ready head up to the top to trigger a fight against a pair of thugs. Defeat them to trigger another cutscene.

Oresrush
When you regain control of Partitio after the time skip, travel to the tavern on the northeastern part of the town near the savepoint then head inside. Use your Path Action on the Apothecary with the green dialog bubbler above their head. Buy Papp’s Medicine from them for 100 leaves then bring it back to him at the house. Along the way, a cutscene will trigger with Partitio’s old friends. Place the medicine on the nightstand next to Papp to trigger another cutscene. Before heading towards the Abandoned Silver Mine, take some time to stock up on supplies, upgrade gear if you can and hire some extra help if needed.
Abandoned Silver Mine
When you reach the mine, loot the chest near the savepoint to receive 500 leaves. Work your way to the top part of the mine to find a ladder leading to a raised platform with a chest containing a Light Soulstone. You’ll then want to travel west over the tracks. Take the path south of the tracks to reach a chest containing an Inspiriting Plum. You’ll then want to follow that path heading north. This will bring you to Giff’s Manse.

Giff’s Manse
Once in the manse, head into the room on the east side of the hall to find a chest then make your way over to the room on the west side to arrive in a courtyard. Head through the door on the north side of the courtyard to find a chest with a Small Silver Ore inside. Next, follow the walkway around to the left. This will bring you to another chest containing a Bronze Shield. Return to the center for the courtyard and take the eastern stairs up. Follow the second-level balcony west making sure to go into the second room you pass to find a chest with a Leather Helm. Head through the doorway at the end of the balcony to enter a room with a Merchant and savepoint. Stock up on supplies and save then head through the door. Take up the stairs and enter the room at the end to trigger a cutscene leading to a boss fight.

Boss Fight: Giff
For this fight, you’ll be facing Giff and two of his lackeys. Giff will buff his lackeys while they all deal physical damage to Partitio. I’d recommend dealing with the lackeys first then focusing on Giff. When he becomes enveloped in a purple mist, either break him or guard as he is about to deal massive damage. When Giff reaches around half health, Partitio will unlock his Latent Power which allows him to instantly replenish his BP. Defeating Giff and his lackeys will win you the fight and trigger a cutscene leading to the end of the chapter.
Hikari is one of the 8 playable characters in Octopath Traveler II. He is the Warrior class allowing him to use the Challenge and Bribe Path Actions. Ryu
If you didn’t start with Hikari, then you’ll need to travel to the town of Ryu in Hinoeuma which is on the western continent. You can reach it by traveling west from Canalbrine in the Harborlads. To reach the Harborlands, sail there from either Beasting Bay: Anchorage in Toto’Hana of the southeastern continent or New Delsta Harbor: Anchorage in the Brightlands of the northwestern continent. Once you reach Ryu, make your way to the eastern side of the area to trigger a cutscene. When prompted select “Yes” to come to the aid of Hikari. Defeat the group of soldiers and Hikari will ask to accompany you. Select “Yes” to have him join the party. You’ll be asked if you want to witness the beginning of Hikari’s story. Select “Yes” to officially start Chapter I.

Ku: Castle Town
When you regain control of Hikari in town, head for the savepoint then climb up the nearby ladder. This will bring you to the top of the wall where you can loot a chest for an Inspiriting Plum. If you also turn left down the road behind the weaponsmith, the last house on the right has a chest with a Healing Grape in it. Now head to the tavern in the southwestern corner of town to trigger a cutscene introducing Hikari’s Challenge Path Action. Use it on Mugen’s soldier to challenge him to a duel. Defeat him using sword and spear attacks. By winning, Hikari will learn the Double Slash skill and another cutscene will trigger. Head up the stairs to the left of the tavern for another cutscene. When it ends, head to the Castle Entrance on the north side of town past the savepoint.
Ku: Castle Entrance
Another cutscene triggers as soon as you reach the area. Enter the building on the left to learn about Hikari’s Bribe Path action then use it on the Castle Merchant to learn the Castle Merchant’s Information. Also, make sure to loot the chest past him to receive 1,600 leaves. Return to Castle Town then exit the city through the south to reach the Southern Ku Sands.
Southern Ku Sands
Travel west past the tents to find a chest with a Fire Soulstone inside then head to the east side to find a dock on the water surrounding the castle. Sail west under the bridge to find another dock with a chest containing an Energizing Pomegranate. A third chest can be found on the southern part of the map on the way to the Crest of Heroes under a lookout tower. It contains a Herb of Light. With the chests out of the way, travel to the top of the Crest of Heroes to find a savepoint and Merchant. Stock up on supplies and save. Then head east of the Merchant to find another chest containing an Inspiriting Plum. When you’re ready approach the swords at the Crest of Heroes to trigger a dialog event leading to a boss fight.

Boss Fight: Ritsu Mishuyo
For this fight, you’ll be facing Ritsu and a couple of his footmen. They will all deal physical damage to Hikari, so deal with the footmen and then focus on Ritsu. When his health is close to halfway, Hikari will be able to use his Latent Power, Shadow Hold which allows him to use special skills without consuming SP. Defeat Ritsu and his footmen to claim victory and trigger a cutscene.

Castle Ku
Follow that path north and speak with the guard near the gate to receive an Empowering Kychee then travel to the Castle Ku: Entrance. Enter the castle to trigger another cutscene. Before heading up the steps, go west to find a chest with a Thunder Soulstone. Head south from that chest to enter a hidden room containing another chest with a Critical Ring inside. Make your way back to the center of the castle and head up the stairs. The side room on the left will have a chest containing a Healing Grape. When you reach the throne room, another cutscene triggers leading to the end of the chapter.
Castti is one of the 8 playable characters in Octopath Traveler II. She is an Apothecary allowing her to use the Inquire and Soothe Path Actions. Canalbrine
If you didn’t choose to start with Castti, travel to Canalbrine in the Harbordlands which can be found on the western continent. You can sail there from either Beasting Bay: Anchorage in Toto’Hana of the southeastern continent or New Delsta Harbor: Anchorage in the Brightlands of the northwestern continent. Once in Canalbrine, speak to Castti helping a wounded sailor near the dock. She will mention needing fruit and you’ll then be prompted to hand over a Healing Grape (you can buy some in any shop if you don’t have any). Select “Yes” to give her one. After dealing with her patient, she’ll tell you a bit about herself and ask if she may join you on your travels. Select “Yes” for her to join your party. You’ll then be prompted if you want to view the beginning of her story. Select “Yes” to officially kick off her Chapter 1.
Ship at Sea
When you gain control of Castti, you’ll be introduced to her Inquire Path Action. Use it on the captain then the three guys on the ship with the green dialog bubble above their heads. After doing so, a cutscene will trigger. Afterward, head down to the passenger’s cabin and interact with the flickering bag to obtain the Apothecary’s Satchel.
Canalbrine
When you regain control of Castti, you’ll be in Canalbrine. Travel towards the Inn to trigger another cutscene where you’ll be introduced to Castti’s Soothe Path Action. Use it on Senah to transition into another cutscene. You’ll then need to heal three people around town. Their locations can be found below. Another cutscene triggers after tending to the third one.
Townsperson – House southwest of the savepoint
Girl – On the ground near the dock east of the savepoint
Elderly Man – Northeast of town in the building connected to the weapons shop
After the cutscene, you’ll need to head out for the water source south of the savepoint on Canalbrine: Parth to the Water Source.
Canalbrine: Path to the Water Source
Head east to find a chest containing a Darkdelion then proceed west towards the water source. When you start going up the sloped path along the area’s western side, there will be a hidden path next to the brazier leading to a chest with an Empowering Ring. A third chest can be found towards the end of the slope containing a Plum Leaf and another before a wall with a ladder containing a Grape Leaf. Climb the wall and then follow it north to find another chest with a Guard’s Helm. Next head south along the wall to find a savepoint and dock. Sail west to find another dock with a chest containing a Herb of Healing then return to the first dock and head through the bars to reach the water source.

Canalbrine: Water Source
Head for the dock then follow the path east. At the fork, continue east to find a chest with a Diffusing Serum then backtrack to the fork and continue on taking the western path. Just before the bridge, there will be a dirt path on the north side leading to a chest with a Cleansing Leaf. Return to the bridge and press on heading east. When you reach the merchant and savepoint, there will be a dock to the left of a small waterfall. Use it to travel west to find a chest with some Old Armor in it. Return to the merchant and stock up on any supplies you need or upgrade equipment. You might also want to use savepoint as well. Grab the chest at the end of the bottom path for a Herb of Healing then take the upper path to the end to trigger an event leading to a boss fight.

Boss Fight: Doron and Veron
For this fight, you’ll be facing two enemies: Doron and Veron. Doron can make you susceptible to poison attacks while Veron can poison you. When one gets low on health, the other will eat it healing itself and gaining a buff. After dealing some damage to the remaining enemy, Castti will gain use of her Latent Power which lets her use concoct without requiring any materials. You can use it to buff your resistance to aliments, heal some HP or restore some SP. The battle ends once both foes are no more. This will trigger a cutscene.

After regaining control of Castti, use the Inquire Path Action on Malaya to learn more about Eir’s Apothecaries. This will trigger a cutscene where Castti will remember a bit about herself. The chapter will complete afterward.
Ochette is one of the 8 playable characters in Octopath Traveler II. She is a hunter allowing her to befriend animals and provoke others into fights. Beasting Village
If you didn’t pick Ochette as your first character, you’ll need to travel to the Beasting Village in Toto’haha on the southwestern continent. To reach it, sail to the Beasting Bay: Anchorage in Toto’haha from either the New Delsta Harbor: Anchorage in the Brightlands or Canalbrine in the Harborlands for a fee. Then head south to reach the Beasting Village. Once there, speak with Ochette near the savepoint then select “Yes” when prompted to allow her to accompany you on your travels. You’ll then be asked if you want to hear the start of Ochette’s tale. Select “Yes” to officially start her Chapter 1.
Tombs of the Wardenbeasts
When you first gain control of Ochette, you’ll have to choose to befriend either Malamaowl or Lajackal using her Path Action. The Malamaowl can attack an elemental weak point on enemies and has the attack Arcane Blade while the Lajackal attacks a weapon weak point on enemies and comes with the Finishing Blow skill. The choice doesn’t really matter too much as you’ll be able to recruit more beasts as the story progresses, but if you’re unsure we’d recommend Malamaowl to round out Ochette a little more since she already has great coverage with weapon break. After you make your choice and befriend one of the animals, a cutscene will trigger. When you regain control of Ochette, you’ll be in a battle with King Iguana. After a few turns pass, you’ll be introduced to her Capture Hunter skill. use it to tame King Iguana.

Beasting Village
After another cutscene, follow the northwestern path past a savepoint to reach the Beasting Village. This will cause another cutscene to occur. You’ll then be introduced to Ochette’s Provoke Path Action. Use it on the Villager with a green text bubble above his head to start a fight and defeat him. After another quick cutscene, you’ll be introduced to Ochette’s prepare hunter skill which turns captured animals into food. Press the Path Action button and select “King Iguana” to turn him into Jerky then speak with the Beastling with a green dialog bubble over their head to give them a piece. Next head to the northwestern part of the village and speak to Juvah for another cutscene. When it concludes, you may want to stop by the shop in town to upgrade your weapons and gear along with grabbing some supplies before setting out.

Path to the Tombs of the Wardenbeasts
Follow the path west to reach the tomb. Before the waterfall, there is a chest at the top of the ledge you can access via stairs to its left to receive an Unerring Ring. You can also use the dock near the pond to sail to a southern dock for another chest containing an Inspiriting Plum. A third chest with Jerky in it can be found east of the waterfall.

Tombs of the Wardenbeasts
When you reach the tomb, follow the path east heading up a flight of stairs and crossing over a bridge. Before continuing east, follow the southern path for a chest containing a Composite Bow and north for another chest with a Bone. After getting both chests, continue east across a bridge to find the missing girl triggering a cutscene. You’ll then need to use your Befriend Path Action on the girl using 1 Jerky. If you don’t have any, capture a monster and serve ’em up.

After befriending the girl, you’ll be sent back to the path outside of the tomb. Return to the village. Along the way, you’ll encounter a new monster. As you get closer to the village a cutscene will trigger. Before entering the village, stock up with the merchant if needed and save. When you’re ready proceed north to the village.

Boss Fight: Dark Entity
Back in the village, a cutscene will trigger leading to a boss fight against the Dark Entity. It will use start out by using dark-based and physical attacks against Ochette. After a few turns pass and you deal some damage to the creature, it will summon 3 additional adds to aid it and will continue to do so through the fight. It can consume the adds to apply a buff to itself. When the Dark Entity reaches close to half-health, Ochette will gain access to her Animal Instincts Latent Power. Activating this will give her access to new special skills. You’ll need to defeat the Dark Entity and any remaining Mysterious Fledglings to win the fight. This will trigger another cutscene leading to the end of the chapter.
Temenos is one of the 8 playable characters in Octopath Traveler II. His class is the Cleric allowing him to use the Guide and Coerce. He is on a quest to investigate the pontiff’s murder. This is a walkthrough for Temenos’ Chapter 1. For more guides on Octopath Traveler II, click here!
Flamechurch
If you didn’t start with Temenos, you’ll need to travel to the town of Flamechurch in the Crestlands region, which can be found in the eastern part of the map, to recruit him. As soon as you enter town, head up the flight of stairs to trigger a cutscene. Temenos will then appear and ask you to lend a hand. Select “yes” when prompted to help him out.

After defeating the enemy, Temenos will ask to join your party. Select “yes” to have him officially join you. You’ll then be prompted to hear the beginning of Temenos’ tale. Select “yes” to officially start Temenos’ Chapter 1.

When you gain control of the guest character, head up the stairs. When you reach the top, a cutscene will trigger leading to a fight. When facing the enemy, use the Blessings skill to boost yourself with a buff for 9 turns then spam the Wrath skill to deal a lot of damage to the enemy. The fight is semi-scripted so just follow along with it.
Flamechurch
When you gain control of Temenos, follow the objective to the town square where a cutscene will trigger. Afterwards, use the newly unlocked Guide Path Action on Crick and escort him back to the cathedral which is north of town through Flamechurch Pilgrims’ Way.
Flamechurch Pilgrims’ Way
Follow the path north heading to the Flamechurch Cathedral. Along the way you’ll find a chest containing an Inspiriting Plum. About halfway up the path, an event will trigger and Crick will officially join your party. From that point, if you keep heading east head down a small flight of stairs to find a chest with a Healing Grape. Head through the tunnel to reach the church. There will be two side paths on both sides. The western one will take you to a chest containing a Tough Nut. The eastern path will lead you to a chest with a Stimulating Ring. Please note that for the eastern chest, you’ll come to a dock. Enter the water to make a boat appear then sail over to the other dock. When you exit the tunnel, head up the stairs to reach the cathedral.
Flamechurch Cathedral
As soon as you reach the cathedral, a cutscene will trigger. After the cutscene, you’ll need to use your Path Action to coerce some info from a few of the Cathedral repair people. They are as follows:
Young Man east of the sacred flame is weak to Light attacks.
Cleric in the building west of the sacred flame by the bookshelf. She is weak to Staff and Light attacks.
Vados the Architect southwest of the sacred flame. He is weak to Light attacks.
Defeating Vados will give you the information you need. The below table are some optional people you can coerce!

Before heading into the secret entrance, you might want to stop by the merchant near the sacred flame to stock up on healing items and upgrade some equipment. When you’re ready, head to the northeastern door of the cathedral. Head inside and climb down the ladder.
Cathedral Cellars
Follow the path west past the savepoint and head up the stairs to find a chest at the top with a Light Soulstone. Head back down the stairs and use the dock to continue heading west. While sailing to the western dock, there will be another dock in the middle of the water on the southern side which will allow you to access a chest containing an Inspiriting Plum. After docking at the far western dock, head up the stairs. At the top there will be a statue. If you head behind the statue and go left you’ll find a hidden area with a chest containing a Pilgrim Rod. Return to the statue and head west to find a ladder, allowing you to enter the cathedral.
Flamechurch Cathedral
Exit the room to enter a hallway then proceed east. Head into the next room to find a chest with an Olive of Life. Proceed on to find a savepoint in the center of the cathedral. If you keep heading east, the last room on the end will contain a chest with a Light Soulstone. Return to the center of the cathedral and head north. Reaching the altar will trigger a cutscene leading to a boss fight.
Boss Fight: Felvarg
For this boss fight, you’ll be fighting the Arcane Beast Felvarg. The beast uses dark magic attacks that can damage the whole party. It also has a Wild Claw attack that can damage a single party member multiple times. To offset some of the damage, use Crick’s Skills. His Cover skill will take damage for Temenos 1 time. His Godsblade’s Shield will raise your physical defense. Sacred Slash can be used to reduce the Felvarg’s magic defense allowing Temenos to deal more damage. After the boss falls under half health, Temenos will gain his Laten Power: Judgment. This will allow him to lower Felvarg’s shield using any of his attacks. One thing to watch out for is when Felvarg becomes surrounded in a purple mist. You’ll either want to break the beast or defend to survive the attack that deals high damage. Defeat the beast to trigger an event.

When you’re prompted to search for clues, interact with the glowing floor behind the beast. This will give you the Shattered Cathedral Window info. Next, examine the urn on the east side of the altar to find the Lingering Scent of Incense info. Lastly, examine the glowing specks in front of the altar to receive the Toppled Candlesticks info.
Flamechurch Cathedral
After the lengthy cutscene, head into the library. Approach the bookshelves to trigger another event. When it concludes, so will the chapter.
