Below is a guide on all the artifacts and journal entries in The Last of Us Part II.

 

Waking Up

Artifact – Volunteer Request

This artifact is located across from the Tipsy Bison behind the cart with all the logs under a blue overhang near a ladder on a crate. *NOTE: You will need to collect this artifact before heading into the Tipsy Bison.

 

The Overlook

Artifact – Seth’s Note

After you crawl underneath a house as part of the story, you will arrive at the front of the house. Climb through the window on the right side of the door to find this artifact on a desk in that room.

 

Patrol

Journal Entry

After taking in the scenery with Dina as part of the main story, back away from the edge then look out back towards the mountains. You will see a prompt to enter a journal entry in Ellie’s journal.

 

Artifact – A Note to Santa

After dismounting from the houses in a residential area, look for the ruined house in the picture above on the left side of the road. Climb up the broken stairs inside the house to reach the second level then open the drawer of the nightstand to the right of the bed.

 

Artifact – Supermarket Apology

As part of the story, you’ll need to climb under a Greenplace Market semi-truck blocking the path behind the supermarket. When you emerge, you’ll need to deal with an Infected. Afterwards, head up the small ramp to the loading dock to find the artifact inside the back of the semi-truck on a stack of cardboard boxes.

 

Artifact – Good Boy Combo

As part of the story, you’ll put on your face masks then will need to proceed through a crack in the wall. There will be an Employee of the Month board in front of you on the wall. Turn right down the hallway and head through the door straight ahead to find the artifact on a desk in the room.

 

Artifact – Eugene’s Firefly Pendant

Obtained automatically as part of the story when you’re in the library.

 

Journal Entry

This entry can be found in the children’s section of the library on a bookshelf next to a giraffe immediately after getting Eugene’s Firefly Pendant.

 

Artifact – Photo of Eugene and Tommy / Artifact – Eugene’s Ultimatum 

The two artifacts can be found on the other side of the children’s section in a room with a bed. The first artifact is located on a desk across from the bed. The second artifact is in the drawer of the nightstand next to the bed.

 

Packing Up

Journal Entry

This entry can be found on the counter in the kitchen of Joel’s house. You will need to examine the mug near the sink.

 

Journal Entry

This entry can be found in a workshop room on the second level of Joel’s house. Interact with the guitar on a table near the window.

 

Artifact – Joel’s Watch

This artifact can be found on the second level of Joel’s house in a shoe box on Joel’s bed.

 

The Gate

Artifact – Map of Seattle

When you reach the highway filled with cars in the forest, follow the road under the overpass to reach a construction trailer on the left side of the road. The artifact can be found in the back room of the trailer.

 

Journal Entry

When you reach the military zone with the WLF Trespassers Killed on Sight sign, interact with the sign to receive the entry.

 

Artifact – Refugee Note

This artifact can be found on a table in the structure to the left of the WLF Trespassers Killed on Sight sign.

 

Artifact – Infected Infographic

This artifact can be found on a table in the structure furthest from the WLF Trespassers Killed on Sight sign.

 

Artifact – Isaac’s Orders

After you climb over the wall, head across the narrow walkway to enter a room with a ladder leading down. If you turn left in that room, you’ll see another ladder heading up. Climb up that ladder to find the artifact in the lookout tower on a table.

 

Artifact – Checkpoint Gate Codes

From the above collectible, head back down the ladder then take another ladder down to reach the ground floor. The artifact can be found in the military structure straight ahead in a filing cabinet.

 

Artifact – Rooftop Note

After you start the generator and throw the yellow cable over to the other side, head to the other side of the military structure and climb up the cable you just threw over. The card can be found in the lawn chair on the roof.

 

Downtown

Artifact – FEDRA Census Document

This artifact can be found in a guard station near the Downtown checkpoint, which is next to Gate East 2.

 

Artifact – Bank Heist Plans

The artifact is located in the bank on James Street in the gated room with all the safety deposit boxes in a satchel next to a body.

 

Artifact – Bank Robber Letter

This artifact can be found on the table next to a bag of money in the above room.

 

Artifact – Antique Ring

This artifact can be found in one of the safety deposit boxes in the above room.

 

Artifact – Cache Hunter Note

This artifact can be found underneath the remains of a structure in a satchel north of the bank.

 

Artifact – Letter from Isaac

This artifact can be found in a satchel near a corpse, which is up the stairs behind a tank near the middle of Cherry Street.

 

Artifact – Street Drawing / Journal Entry

These can be found in the lookout on the military checkpoint at the corner of Marion and 4th Avenue.

 

Artifact – WLF Safe House Supply Note / Artifact – Pet Store Key

These are located in a coffee shop on the corner of Spring Street and 5th Avenue. The note can be found on the counter, and the card can be found in a drawer behind the counter.

 

Artifact – Emergency Protocols Memo

This artifact can be found on a table in the dome on the second level, which is reachable using the cart after picking up the gas can.

 

Artifact – Rabbi Saunders’ Letter / Journal Entry

This artifact can be found in an office in the dome on the second level, reachable via swinging on a rope. The journal entry will trigger automatically after reading the artifact.

 

Artifact – WLF Community Supply Chest Note

This artifact can be found in a satchel at the top of a flight of stairs leading up to a sky scrapper on Madison Street between 5th and 6th Avenue.

 

Artifact – Plea to a Friend Letter

This artifact can be found on a corpse in the basement of the courthouse underneath a FEDRA sign.

 

Artifact – List of Known WLF Agitators / Artifact – Lt. Torres’ Final Memorandum

These can be found in a large room in the basement of the courthouse with lots of desks.  The List of Known WLF Agitators can be found in a filing cabinet to the left of the whiteboard. The other artifact can be found by taking out the machete from the corpse underneath the whiteboard. The letter will fall to the ground.

 

Artifact – Join WLF Note

This can be found in the pet store at the corner of Marion Street and 6th Avenue on the printer.

 

Artifact – Note to Informant 

This artifact can be found in the back of a truck in front of the waterfall in the north between 6th and 7th Avenue.

 

Artifact – WLF Recruiter Journal

This can be found in a drawer under the TV in a bedroom with two beds on the second floor of the hotel.

 

Eastbrook Elementary

Artifact – Leah’s Note / Artifact – Leah’s Photograph

These artifacts are obtained automatically as part of the story during the first cutscene.

 

Artifact – Isaac’s Mandate

This artifact can be found on a table in a room accessible via the rooftop.

 

Capitol Hill

Artifact – Chevy’s Apology

This artifact can be found on the bed in the bedroom on the second level of the building across from a swimming pool.

Artifact – Raul’s Olive Branch

This artifact can be found in a drawer next to the fridge in the kitchen of the above apartment room. To reach this room, you will need to use the dumpster to climb onto the balcony.

 

Artifact – Rebecca’s Tip Off

This artifact can be found in the book store on a counter next to the sink.

 

Artifact – Tower Doodles

This artifact can be found just after the two Infected behind some traps. The story will want you to proceed down the steep hill but don’t. Instead look to your right to find a ladder that leads to the top of a lookout tower. The artifact will be in this room.

 

Artifact – Raul’s Account

After sliding down the steep hill, cross the river and follow the path up towards the broken highway to find a FEDRA truck underneath it. The artifact can be found in the back of the truck.

 

Artifact – Fran’s Refusal

When you first spot all the tripwires, head into the martial arts building on the right. This artifact can be found on a bulletin board in the main room.

 

Artifact – Thrift Store Reminder

This artifact can be found on a bulletin board near some vending machines in the Well Wishes Store & Donation Center.

 

Channel 13

Artifact – Dad’s Pep Talk

This artifact can be found on a couch just before the room you find Leah in.

 

The Tunnels

Artifact – Subway Note

As part of the story, you and Dina will need to open a train car door. Head through the train cars to the very end to find the artifact in the last train car on a wall next to a window.

 

Journal Entry

After defeating a new enemy, inspect the body to receive a new journal entry.

 

Artifact – Locker Room Note

After you open the large door using the chain, this artifact can be found on a table in the break room past a cola vending machine.

 

Artifact – Soda Can Note

This artifact is located in the cola vending machine next to the previous artifact. You will need to break the glass in the vending machine to collect the note on a can of soda.

 

Artifact – Whittled Statue

This artifact can be found next to a microwave in the same room as the above 2 artifacts.

 

Artifact – Subway Station Note

After climbing up the large red box in the metro, enter the train car. The artifact can be found on the door to the right in the train car.

 

The Theater

Artifact – Program for Cassandra

This artifact is on a green crate to the left of the display counter on the ground floor.

 

Artifact – Lone FEDRA Soldier Journal #2

This artifact can be found on a desk on in the projector room on the third level.

 

Artifact – Lone FEDRA Soldier Journal #1

This artifact can be found on a table near a makeshift fort on the balcony overlooking the lobby.

 

Artifact – The Sick Habit Flyer/Set List

After you turn on the generator and find the key, use it to unlock the door on the ground floor. This artifact can be found on a trunk in the middle of the stage on the ground floor.

 

The Birthday Gift

Journal Entry

Interact with the sign in front of the large T-Rex to receive the entry.

 

Journal Entry

Interact with one of the two benches that are in the center of the space exhibit just past the mobile.

 

Artifact – Suicide Note

The artifact can be found next to a corpse near the “There is no light” written on the wall and a butterfly display. You will reach this room after crawling through a hole in the wall to proceed further with the story.

 

Hillcrest

Artifact – Join WLF Note

This artifact can be found on a desk next to a computer in the Majestic Laundromat.

 

Artifact – Boris’ Daughter’s Drawing

This artifact can be found on a table next to a cot in the basement of Rosemont (clothing store).

 

Artifact – Need a Plan Note

This artifact can be found in a drawer in the Caroline Paper Co. To reach it, take a left at Ruston Coffee and follow the path into a wooded area leading to a sink hole. Use the overturned dumpster to reach the store. Break the window on the left of the boarded door to reach the inside of the store.

 

Artifact – Yolanda’s Note

This artifact can be found on the counter in the Used and Rare Books store.

 

Journal Entry

Inspect the WLF banner that has “Fuck the WLF” written on in to the left of Ruston Coffee.

 

Artifact – Condolence Note

After heading through a set of big red doors you will need to open a gate, causing a dumpster to slide out. Use the dumpster to reach the roof of a nearby structure to progress with the story. Once on the roof, you’ll need to drop down then climb up a hole in the wall. The artifact will be located in the small office room next to the bicycles on a desk.

 

Artifact – Note in Hillcrest Tattoo Parlor

This artifact is located on a metal table in the back room of Velvet Tattoo.

 

Artifact – Dale’s Combo

This artifact is located on a wall near the sink in the kitchen of the building connected to Pet Boutique.

 

Artifact – Rosemont’s Flyer

After jumping over a fence to progress with the story, you’ll land in a really nice backyard. Enter the house to find this artifact on a wooden counter just before the kitchen.

 

Artifact – Boris’ Confession

This artifact can be found in the same house as the above collectible on a coffee table in the living room.

 

Finding Strings

Journal Entry

At the start of this chapter, immediately look to the right to find a picturesque view of the mountains. Interacting with the point will trigger a journal entry.

 

Artifact – Tara’s Invitation

This artifact can be found in the hotel in room 107 on a dresser.

 

The Seraphites

Artifact – WLF Target List

This artifact can be found on an Infected in Kingsgate Brewing Co. To reach the collectible, you’ll need to deal with the swarm of enemies inside. Either you or they can break the window to get in/out. Afterwards, make sure to search the bodies to find the artifact.

 

Journal Entry

In the Conference Center, examine the “Feel Her Love” smeared in blood on the wall in the lobby.

 

Artifact – Last Letter to Husband

This artifact can be found on a couch in the locked room on the second level of the Conference Center. To reach this room, you will need to break out the leftmost window then shoot out the glass on the overhang directly to the left of the window. Grab the rope and throw it over the overhang. Climb up the rope then swing into the window of the locked room. The artifact will be on the ground on the right side of the room near the couches.

 

Artifact – WLF Deserter Letter

This artifact can be found in the bedroom of the tall apartment building that is white and orange-ish. When you reach the building, climb up the delivery truck in front of it to reach the top of an overhang. Climb in through the window then take the leftmost door. The artifact will be in the bedroom on the TV stand.

 

Artifact – Evacuation Letter

The artifact can be found on the kitchen table in the above apartment.

 

Journal Entry

The journal entry is obtained automatically as part of the story when Ellie sees the hospital.

 

Journal Entry

After exiting the park, Ellie will see the road leading to the hospital. Follow that road until you see a bus stop on the left. Examine the corpse near the stop to get the journal entry.

 

Artifact – Dying Husband’s Plea

The artifact can be found next to a corpse in Garden Suites. Head up to the second level via the staircase then enter the room. Exit this room via the fire escape and ascend to the next floor. Smash the window to enter the room to find the corpse.

 

Artifact – Pharmacy Note

This artifact can be found in Weston’s Pharmacy behind the checkout counter.

 

Artifact – Hospital Supply List

After you head up the staircase in the hospital as part of the story, open the door to enter the hallway. The artifact can be found on a table in the first room on the right.

 

Road to the Aquarium

Artifact – Garage Note

After Ellie and Jessie see the ferris wheel and go for a quick swim, head to the parking garage on the left side. Kill the Infected inside then work your way through the garage to reach the upper level. The artifact can be found next to a corpse.

 

Journal Entry

This entry can be found in Kingston Bookstore, which you will go to as part of the story. Once inside, drop down to the lower level to find the entry in the kid’s section.

 

Artifact – Bookstore Note

This can be found right next to the above collectible on a table.

 

Artifact – Textile Note

This artifact can be found in Rachel’s Fabrics/Textiles on the wall next to the windows. To reach this store on the second level of the building, you will need to use the blue containers to climb up the scaffolding.

 

The Flooded City

Journal Entry

At the beginning of the chapter when you need to raise the gate using the chain, don’t pull the chain quite yet. Instead, head upstairs on the left side of the room and interact with the windows to get the journal entry.

 

Artifact – Stash Note

This artifact can be found in the corner of the same room as the above journal entry near a corpse.

 

Artifact – Shambler Note

This artifact can be found in the Carthy Hotel next to a corpse.

 

Artifact – Sniper’s Note

When you reach the group of enemies fighting each other, take an immediate left to find a train car that is falling off the tracks. Park the boat at the end of the train car then climb through the car to reach a rope and a locked train car. Throw the rope through the opening in the roof then climb up the rope to reach the roof. Once on the roof, drop down into the locked train car to find the artifact on a red chair.

 

Artifact – Encampment Note

This artifact can be hanging on a wall in the lantern lit room with all the enemies, which is on the second level of a building. You will reach this building as part of the story. It is just past a broken train bridge.

 

Artifact – Arcade Flyer

This artifact can be found in W&B Arcade on a booth.

 

Artifact – Arcade Note

After fighting the Bloater in the arcade, you’ll be able to head into a section of W&B Arcade that has a whole bunch of computers set up like an internet cafe. The artifact will be located on the wall in this area.

 

Infiltration

Journal Entry

After falling through the vent and getting attacked by a dog, head into the break room to find a duffel bag near the fridge. Interact with it to inspect a necklace, which will trigger a journal entry.

 

Tracking Lessons

Artifact – Owen’s Drawing of Abby / Artifact – Thank You Card from Mel

These will both automatically be in your inventory at the start of this chapter.

 

Artifact – Zoo Holiday Brochure

This can be found near the start of the chapter under a large gazebo after finding Abby’s dad’s footprints.

 

On Foot

Artifact – WLF Gun Cache Note

This artifact can be found in the rusty construction trailer near Manny after you guys exit the Boat Repair Shop. To enter the trailer, you’ll need to break a window. This artifact is located next to a coffee maker.

 

The Forward Base

Artifact – WLF Interrogator Letter

After entering the apartment building where Isaac is, this artifact can be found in this room on a wooden table.

 

Hostile Territory

Artifact – Scar’s Suicide Note

This item can be found in the building across from Tang Fabrics & Imports. There will be a broken window in this building that you can climb through. The item is in the kitchen.

 

Artifact – Jasmine Bakery Safe

To reach this area, use the stairs leading up in the Ruby Dragon, defeat the two Clickers in there then jump across to King Street Relics. The artifact will be on a cardboard box.

 

Artifact – Plea to Seraphite Prophet 

From the above artifact, take the stairs up to find the artifact next to a corpse.

 

Artifact – Strange Relic

This artifact is on a table in the room with the hole in the floor near where the Jasmine Bakery Safe artifact was.

 

Artifact – Seraphite Prayer to Prophet – Respect/Steed/Pairing/Prosperity/Peace & Prayer for Victory

After you leave Chinatown, look for the truck surrounded by white flowers to find all 6 of the above artifacts. 4 are attached to the sides of the truck, 1 on the ground to the left of the truck and 1 inside the truck.

 

Artifact – Letter from Seraphite Father to Son

This collectible is located in a ruined skyscraper. You will need to climb under some rubble and push a container out of the way to exit into a room with “Fresnel” written on the reception desk. The artifact will be located in the next room on a table.

 

The Forest

Artifact – Failed Truce

This artifact can be found in La Rosa’s Auto Body Shop on a table in the break room.

 

The Coast

Artifact – Infirmary Note

After entering through a hole in the WTA ship, head through the doorway and take a right down the hallway. Take another right into the first room with cots. The artifact can be found on the cot next to a corpse.

 

Artifact – Mutiny Note

After you get the crossbow as part of the main story, head down to the end of the room. You can find this artifact under the WTA sign on a cot.

 

Artifact – Ferry Log

This artifact can be found on the top level of the ship behind a closed door.

 

The Shortcut

Artifact – Amputation Supplies

This will automatically be in your inventory at the start of the chapter.

 

Artifact – Survivor Plea

After crossing the river, you’ll head into a broken building where Abby says let’s head upstairs. The artifact can be found on the floor in a room upstairs.

 

Artifact – Scavenging List

This can be found in Interbay next to a corpse.

 

Artifact – Seraphite Truce

Once you come across the first sky bridge, which is a wooden bridge, you keep heading up. Lev will jump across 3 exposed frame bars and Abby will need to use the door to the left to get around. The artifact can be found in this room on a desk.

 

Artifact – Seraphite Orders

After exiting the elevator with Lev, continue following the path forward to find the artifact on a wall to the right of the door frame.

 

The Descent

Artifact – Gym Safe Combo

This artifact can be found on a bulletin board in the kitchen of Orchards Juice Bar, which is just past the gym.

 

Artifact – FEDRA Orders

This artifact is obtained automatically as part of the story.

 

Artifact – FEDRA Final Note

After climbing down the fire hose as part of the story, head through a broken section of wall on the right to find the artifact next to a corpse.

 

Ground Zero

Artifact – Annex Letter

This can be found in the Oncology Center. Head through the door marked as the Atrium to find a hallway. Crawl under the filing cabinets blocking a doorway to find the artifact next to a corpse.

 

Artifact – Soldier’s Letter

From the previous artifact, head down the stairs then drop down to the floor below. This artifact can be found in the brown satchel next to a skeleton.

 

Artifact – Chapel Note

From the previous artifact, follow the path left and enter the chapel to find the artifact on the alter.

 

Artifact – Patient’s Note

After entering the quarantine zone and heading down the tunnel, smash the window to room 24 to find the artifact on a hospital bed.

 

Artifact – Doctor’s Note

This artifact can be found in the surgery center, which you can reach by squeezing through a cracked door. The artifact is on a counter at the very end of the hallway. You’ll need to head through an open doorway on the left to reach the room.

 

The Marina

Artifact – Marina Note

After lifting a heavy grate, proceed into the sewer and follow the path forward to arrive at a marina. The artifact will be located in the kitchen on the counter near a cash register.

 

The Island

Artifact – WLF Scout Journal

After climbing up the first ladder at the beginning of the chapter, the artifact will be next to a corpse on the right.

 

Artifact – Venison Distribution List

This artifact can be found in the first wooden building you come across on a table.

 

Artifact – Young Seraphite’s Journal

After spotting Issac in his boat as part of the story, you will pass by a lookout tower then arrive at 2 wooden lodges across from each other. Enter the one on the left to find the artifact on a bed.

 

Artifact – Mournful Prayer Note

Enter the wooden lodge across from the above lodge to find the artifact on a wall to the right of the shrine.

 

2425 Constance

Artifact

From the Constance street sign at the start of the chapter, head right down the road to reach a green house on the left across from a RV with a skull painted on the back. The artifact can be found on the toilet in the bathroom.

 

Pushing Inland

Artifact – Abby’s Note

This artifact can be found at the start of the chapter next to the stove in the boat.

 

Artifact – Mansion Note

After climbing over the fence, follow the path right to find a large house with a U-MOVE trailer in the front of it. The artifact can be found in the garage on a workbench.

 

Journal Entry

This entry is obtained automatically as part of the story.

 

The Resort

Journal Entry 

Inspect the Rattler symbol on the van underneath the stoplights in an intersection to the right of the Market.

 

Artifact- Santa Barbara Slave Note

After seeing prisoners being led past a corn field, take a left to find the artifact on a barrel next to a corpse.

 

Artifact – Rattler’s Letter Home

During the story, you will need to climb up a curved staircase. At the top of the stairs, turn right to find the artifact on a nightstand.
