How to Start the A Tip of the Cap Mission
To begin the A Tip of the Cap mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, you must first complete The Ties that Bind affinity mission then speak with Nosusu. The recommended level for this mission is 11.

Nosusu’s newly opened business is about to go under. Help her protect her traditional Nopon art form.
Gather six noctilucent dragonflies in Noctilum
To locate the dragonflies, exit the Nopon Caravan and head towards the waterway Tangle. You’ll find some there marked around the area on your mini-map.
Find a piece of harnenga cotton in Noctilum
To obtain the cotton, you’ll need to head into the northern part of Noctilum, in the area west of FN Site 215. To reach it, you’ll need to cross the bridge and then drop down at the broken section. From there, head southwest towards a giant tree root, which you can then use to reach Breakwater Narrow, where you’ll find the collectibles.
Gather two lava mangos in Noctilum
You can find the Lava Mangos in the Whale’s Nostril around her.
Talk to Nosusu
Once you have all of the requested items, return to Nosus at Noctilum’s Whale’s Nostril. Speak with her to hand them over. After which, Nosusu will request a couple more materials from you.
Get Two Vibrant Plumes
The Vibrant Plumes are dropped from Saltats and can be found at Old Dragontail Tree in Noctilum.
Get Two Fluffy Tufts
The Fluffy Tuft is dropped from the Lake Mortifole enemies in the Old Dragontail Tree area. They look like flowers and can be found flying around in the sky.
Talk to Nosusu
Return to Nosusu and speak with the Nopon. Afterward, the A Tip of the Cap mission will end.
Completion Rewards
As a reward for completing the A Tip of the Cap mission, you’ll receive the following:
- Experience x170
- Reward Money x9,000
- Soft Cat Ears
