How to Start the A Proper Chopper Mission
To begin the A Proper Chopper mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, speak with Roscoe in NLA’s Industrial District. This quest becomes available after completing Chapter 4, and the recommended level for this mission is 15.
A Proper Chopper Walkthrough
You’ve been asked to aid BLADEs who went missing in Noctilum’s Sunlit Spring.
Go to Noctilum’s Sunlit Spring
To reach the Sinlit Spring, travel to FN Site 219 in the Goblin’s Narrow then head southwest. Approach the helicopter to trigger a cutscene.
Once it concludes, fight the five Level 13 & Level 14 Jovial Saltats one at a time.
Talk to Howard
After you defeat them all, speak with Howard.
Gather two anhydrous radiators
You’ll find the Anhydrous Radiators at Biahno Hills and Green Threshold in Primordia.
Find a spherical EM motor
To reach the area containing the Spherical EM Motor, you’ll need to climb the Skybound Coil Tree to reach the Nopon Braidbridge. From there, cross into the next area of Noctilum. Make your way northeast of FN Site 215 to find the item on the ground where indicated by the objective marker.
Give the materials to Ciska
Travel back to the helicopter in Sunlit Spring and speak with Ciska to hand over the materials.
Repair the helicopter’s main rotor
Check the underside of the helicopter by interacting with the prompt.
You’ll then need to pick between the red and blue wire. Choose the blue wire!
Talk to Roscoe
Head back to NLA’s Industrial District and speak with Roscoe. The “A Proper Chopper” mission will then end!

As a reward for completing the A Proper Chopper mission, you’ll receive the following:
- Experience x180
- Reward Money x10,000
- Meredith Light (Male)
- Meredith Light (Female)
