How to Start the A Present for Hope Affinity Mission
In Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, affinity and main story missions are unique in that you can only undertake one at a time. If you begin an affinity mission, you won’t be able to start a main story mission, and vice versa. Furthermore, you can only have one affinity or story mission active at any given time.
The A Present for Hope affinity mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition can be found in NLA’s Residential District. The recommended level for this mission is 44, and the required level is 44. To begin this mission, you must complete Chapter 10. The primary destination is Cauldros. The required affinity with Hope must be Rank 4.
It’s not required, but we’d recommend getting the Skell Flight Module before starting this affinity mission. It will make reaching one of the last objectives much easier!
A Present for Hope Overview
Cheer up Hope by looking for information regarding her father’s missing journal.
Objectives
- Find the first piece of intel on the crash in the upper level of the administrative district
- Find the second piece of intel on the crash in the upper level of the administrative district
- Find the third piece of intel on the crash in the upper level of the administrative district
- Talk to Ada at Deliverance Park in the residential district
- Talk to Quentin on East Melville Street in the commercial district
- Talk to Lularita at Cauldros’s Mount M’gando
- Investigate the wreckage at Cauldros’s Forgotten Mining Frigates
- Talk to Ada at Deliverance Park in the residential district
A Present for Hope Walkthrough
After starting this mission, travel to the upper Administrative District (the area with the BLADE Tower) to begin your search for intel. You’ll need to gather three pieces from within the search area. If you need help with those, please see these subsections! Once you’ve found all three, return to Deliverance Park in the Residential District and speak with Ada there.
When you’re done speaking with Ada, travel to East Melville Street in the Commercial District and head to the second building to the east. You should find Quentin out front, standing next to some stone columns. Speak with him to get the coordinates on the archive we seek.
Now that we have a location, travel to Cauldros and make your way to the northeastern part of the region, north of the Mount M’gando landmark. From that landmark, a path heading north will take you right to Lularita’s location.
Speak to her when you arrive.
To reach the White Whale Debris, you must hop into your Skell and fly to the Forgotten Mining Frigates northwest of your current position. Interact with the debris to trigger a cutscene. Once it finishes, return to NLA and speak with Ada at the Deliverance Park. This will trigger one last cutscene that will result in the completion of the mission.
First Piece of Intel
You can find the first piece of intel by traveling to the BLADE Tower and then approaching the two people talking near the base of the steps leading up to the tower.
Second Piece of Intel
To get the second piece of intel, head to the south part of BLADE Tower, near the elevator. You’ll find three BLADEs there talking. Approach them to obtain the next intel.
Third Piece of Intel
The last piece of intel can be found near the Mission Control terminal behind the BLADE Tower. Approach Wolf, standing on his left side to receive it from one of the BLADEs he is talking to.
