How to Start the A Friend in Need Affinity Mission
In Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, affinity and main story missions are unique in that you can only undertake one at a time. If you begin an affinity mission, you won’t be able to start a main story mission, and vice versa. Furthermore, you can only have one affinity or story mission active at any given time.
The A Friend in Need affinity mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition can be found in NLA’s BLADE Barracks. The recommended level for this mission is 19 and the required level is 19. To begin this mission, you must complete Chapter 5. The primary destination is Oblivia. Lao is a restricted character.
A Friend in Need Walkthrough
Lao’s team has run out of supplies. Find them and help them out.
Bring supplies to Saiden in Oblivia’s Barbarich Desert
Travel to the western part of the Barbarich Desert and speak with Saiden near the water to trigger a cutscene.
Head to the Metting Point in Front of Oblivia’s Leaning Ring
Travel south from Lao’s team’s location to reach the meeting point. As you approach the objective maker, a cutscene will trigger.
Defeat six chasm forfexes near Oblivia’s Leaning Ring
Travel southwest of the Leaning Ring landmark to find the Level 16 & 17 Chasm Forfex. Take out all six!
Head past the canyon south of Oblivia’s Leaning Ring
Keep heading southwest and approach the giant cacti to trigger a cutscene.
Head to Division Drive in the Administrative District and meet with Saiden’s group
Head to the upper level of the Administrative District to trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene, the A Friend in Need mission will complete.
Completion Rewards
As a reward for completing the A Friend in Need affinity mission, you’ll receive the following:
- Experience x200
- Reward Money x12,000
- Javelin Art “Balance Breaker”
