How to Complete the Wild Horses Quest

Rensa, famous for taking second place at the Hyrule Horse-Taming Competition, has thrown down the gauntlet! His challenge: ride a wild horse to the stable within two minutes. Wild horses are very wary of people, so this will be no mean feat.

Mount a Wild Horse

As soon as you accept the quest from Rensa, a two–minute timer will begin, so you’ll need to move quickly. Head south of the Dueling Peaks Stable, where you’ll spot a herd of wild horses grazing in the fields.

To mount one, carefully sneak up behind the horse of your choice and press the interact prompt when you’re close enough. Keep in mind that wild horses can be skittish, so patience is key. Wearing the Stealth armor set will make this process much easier, as it reduces the sound of your footsteps and lets you approach without startling them.

If you want an even faster method, use Revali’s Gale to launch Link into the air and glide down directly onto the horse’s back. This trick completely bypasses the need to sneak and gives you a great advantage if you’re racing against the timer.

Ride the Horse to the Stable

Once you’ve successfully mounted a horse, your next task is to guide it back to Rensa at the Dueling Peaks Stable. If the horse resists at first, don’t forget to soothe it by pressing the button prompt and keeping your stamina in mind. Building trust will make it easier to control the horse on your short ride back.

Return to Rensa within the time limit, and he’ll happily reward you for your efforts with 50 Rupees. It’s a simple quest, but it also provides a good opportunity to practice horse taming early in the game.
