Welcome to NGB and our Unicorn Overlord guide on the Beyone the Swirling Sands side quest! Learn how to begin and finish the quest, discover the rewards you’ll earn, the key characters in our victorious team, and the strategy we applied to conquer the battle stage. Keep in mind that we prioritized tasks like freeing forts, capturing bridges, and clearing watchtowers before meeting the victory conditions to maximize experience points, war funds, Honors, and renown, all crucial for strengthening the Liberation Army.
How to Start the Beyond the Swirling Sands Quest
The Beyond the Swirling Sands quest will trigger automatically after entering the desert below Dreibaum Town.
How to Complete Beyond the Swirling Sands
For this quest, you’ll need to head west of Weszait Town. Eventually Aubin will pop up and ask if your ready for the grand tour. Ask him to show us around to trigger the banner to appear on the map. Interact with it when you’re ready to begin the battle. For this fight, you’ll be mostly facing Wyvern Knights, Witches and Gladiators. Wyvern Knights are weak to Archers, Sorcerers and Witches, while Witches are weak to Radiant Knights and Hunters. The Gladiators struggle against calvary and Thieves.
After beginning the stage, a cutscene will trigger. Aubin will introduce the 2 paths to reach the keep each with their own challenges and a third extra area.
Be on the lookout for shiny objects on the ground throughout the battle stage. You’ll be able to receive the following items: Concealing Cloak, Hot Cross Buns, Beckoning Chime.
As you make your way through this map, watch out for all the thieves in the area that will steal your money. If you fall victim to a thief, chase them down with a flying unit! A sandstorm will also rage on and off throughout the fight reducing visibility.
First, you’ll want to make your way up to Banham Ruins, which is north of your Command Post. This is the extra area not on a direct route to the Command Post. It will be guarded by a Watchtower! When you speak to the boss, Catolina, she’ll switch sides and help you for this fight. You’ll also receive 7000G.
Next, take out the Watchtower guarding the 2 paths that lead to the eastern Command Post. The northern path will take you to Velkwiller Garrison. Visit Camilla there and speak with her to convince her to switch sides. Afterwards, follow the southern path that leads to Kanseinn Ruins. After defeating the boss, Bernd, at the Kanseinn Ruins, he’ll switch sides and assist you in the battle.
Next make your way to the Bousin Ruins and liberate it to receive 7000G! With all 3 helpers, convene on the Command Post! Once you take down the Command Post, you’ll receive the Pursuant’s Bracelet and the stage will clear! During the cutscene, Magellan will return to his old self and will join your cause.
