How to Start the Truth of the Departed Quest
To begin the Truth of the Departed quest in Octopath Traveler 0, speak with the woman in the western part of Cragspear: Slums after completing the Bestower of All: Ch. 1 Between Life and Death quest.
Truth of the Departed Walkthrough
A fallen man roams the slums of Hell’s Cragspear, while a woman in the slums of Cragspear is tormented by nightmares. There seems to be some sort of connection, but what is it?
Search the slums of Hell to figure out the cause
Travel to Hell: Cragspear – Slums then use the Inquire Path Action on the Burned Man standing in front of the western house. Afterwards, you’ll need to Contend them for the Cause of the Fire. His danger level is 51.

Share the truth with the tormented woman
Once you defeat him, return to the quest giver and tell her the man’s story. As a reward, you will receive a Commemorative Coin and the side story will complete.
