Paradise Island Side Content
Beyond the main quests in Eden, there’s plenty of optional content to uncover. From adopting unique creatures to exploring locked areas and discovering hidden interactions, these activities add extra depth and rewards to your time on the planet. This section covers all the side content you can find throughout Eden that isn’t tied to specific quests.
Adopt Lucy the Crabble

If you travel south from the landing pad, you’ll eventually arrive at the Crabble Farm. Speak with Crabble Rancher Casey, who will ask the commander if they know anything about crabble medicine. Turns out she fed Purpleberry Crunch to her crabble, Lucy, which made her sick. She’ll then ask if you can help her out.

After you’ve finished talking with Casey, interact with Lucy to be prompted with a couple of options. To save Lucy, you’ll need to have either Medical 5 or use a Trauma Kit on her. If you don’t have a Trauma Kit, you can purchase one from the Fairfield Clinic.
Once you heal Lucy, speak with Casey, who will give you the Crabble Rancher’s Safe Key, which opens her safe in the house as a thank you. Interact with Lucy afterward, and you’ll be able to adopt her as a pet for the Incognito. Also, make sure to loot the safe. You’ll receive a Light Revolver and a Plasma Soak mod.
Get Past the Locked Door in the Fairfield Consabulary

If you enter the Fairfield Consabulary, you’ll notice Trooper Kemp and Trooper Murphy trying to open the locked door in the back of the building. Speak with them, learn that they are trying to see if there is a stockpile of weapons or supplies that can be used in the ongoing war. You’ll then be prompted to try and lockpick or use your skills to get through.
If you can’t, speak with Warden Sterling in the cell to the left of the door. You can persuade him to tell you how to get into the room. He’ll make you go around back and speak with him through the window, where he’ll mention that there is a hatch on the roof that opens up straight to that room. You can reach it by climbing up the scaffolding located on the south side of the building.
Inside the room, you’ll find a Defensive Plates mod and the Shock Machine Gun, among some other things. Make sure to loot the room before opening the door (or loot the room if you unlocked it for them). They will let you keep the gun you found as a reward for getting the door open.
Help Drone Technician Simms

You can find Drone Technician Simms on the north side of the consabulary, tinkering with a terminal. If you speak with him, he’ll say he’s trying to deploy some drones, but he needs to update their targeting parameters so the locals are flagged as friendly.
To that end, he needs to access the terminal, but is having no luck. He’ll then ask for your help. If you have Hacking 2, then you’ll be able to make the update for him.

If not, you’ll need to find Sanitizer Magnus (the previous drone tech) to ask for help. He can be seen scrubbing the bathroom in the back of the saloon.

When you speak with him, select the “Do you know how to get around the security protocols on the drone terminal?” option. He’ll simply hand over the code.
Now that you have the info, return to the terminal next to Drone Technician Simms and reset target priorities. Afterwards, speak with Simms to receive the following:
- Bypass Shunt x2
- Foil
- Magnet
Help Technician Artley Get the Sky Mines Working

Speak with Technician Artley near the sky mines in Fairfield (east of the saloon) to learn that the lift portion of the machine isn’t working, which means they are defenseless.
If you have either the Engineering 2 or Science 2 skills, then you’ll be able to fix it for her. Alternatively, you’ll need to find a manual for repairing the machine.

The Sky Mine Maintenance Manual can be found on a crate by the tents on the west side of Fairfield.

When you are ready to repair the machine, interact with the panel on it, then speak with Artley afterward. She’ll reward you with some grenades and a recipe to craft a Grenade Bandolier, which gives you an extra grenade slot.
Help Trooper Erickon in the Fairfield Clinic

Head to the Fairfield Clinic and speak with Trooper Erickson, who is in for an arm wound. The clinic is backed up, so he’ll enjoy some company while waiting to see the doctor. If you have Medicine 3, you can use the Clinic Chemset behind the doctor to formulate a coagulant to give him to stop the bleeding.
Give Pep Talk to Range Safety Officer Sato’s Recruits

On the west side of Fairfield, you’ll find Range Safety Officer Sato at the shoot range next to the tents. If you have Speech 2, speak with him and ask permission to give his recruits a pep talk so they can feel inspired. After your speech, you’ll receive the Light Revolver.
Power up the substation to get the Corrosive Shock Machine Gun

On the southwestern side of Paradise Island, you’ll find a substation nestled amongst the trees. Head to the southeastern side of the area to find a building with a ladder. Climb up the ladder and use one of the following to power up the station:
- Engineering 3
- Innovative Trait
- Substation Repair Kit
To get the Substation Repair Kit, you’ll need to enter the main substation building. There is a grate on the site that you can remove if you have one of the following:
- Sneak 2
- Nimble Trait
This will get you into the building’s supply room, where the repair kit is.

After powering up the station, climb down the ladder and head inside the building it’s attached to. Inside, use the machine to charge the fuse, then take it. Exit the building and head to the building diagonally across the station. Insert the Charged Substation Fuse into the receptacle to the left of the door, then head inside. On the table, grab the Corrosive Shock Machine Gun.
