Welcome to NGB and our Fantasy Life i walkthrough for The Magician’s Story questline! This guide will cover everything you need to know to easily complete this quest, including how to start the mission and the steps you will need to take to finish it.

How to Start The Magician’s Story Questline
To begin The Magician’s Story questline in Fantasy Life i, select the Magician Life License in Eternia Village’s Guild Office.
Next, speak with Oz north of the Guild Office to become a Novice.
Magician Life Challenges
Novice Challenges
Communing With Spirits
First, speak with Raggdol on the road north of Eternia Village.
Next, travel to the Magician’s Academy in the Capital of Mysteria to trigger a cutscene.
When it ends, return to Oz. You’ll then be tasked with following Raggdol to the southwestern beach.
The spooky Ghohohost will appear!!
Defeat it to receive some tutorials. Two more will then show up. Defeat the monsters then return to Oz to tell of the good news. The challenge will complete and you’ll become a Fledgling!
Fledgling Challenges
Can You Eat It?
For the Can You Eat It? life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 2 Cornella as a Magician. These monsters can be found by the pond at the top of a waterfall west of the Capital of Mysteria.
As a reward, you’ll receive 300 Stars.
Corny-On-The-Cob
For the Corny-On-The-Cob life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 6 Corny as a Magician. These monsters can be found on the east side of the Capital of Mysteria.
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Cutey from the Prairie
For the Cutey from the Prairie life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 6 Hearhares as a Magician. These monsters can be found on the east side of the Capital of Mysteria.
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Magic 101
For the Magic 101 life challenge, you’ll need to use Arcane Arts I 20 times on enemies. To use this skill hold the Light Attack button to charge the skill then let it go. As a reward, you’ll receive 50 Stars.
Magic for Tough Turtles
For the Magic for Tough Turtles life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 6 Tortortoise as a Magician. These enemies can be found on the southwestern beach in the Capital of Mysteria.
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Red and Dangerous
For the Red and Dangerous life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 6 Red Wolves as a Magician. You can find these monsters west of the Capital of Mysteria at night.
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Stop the Rolling Beetle!
For the Stop the Rolling Beetle life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 6 Proto Beetle Ballers as a Magician. You can find these monsters west of the Capital of Mysteria at night.
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Toad of the Tropics
For the Toad of the Tropics life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 6 Tropic Toads as a Magician. You can find them on the northeastern beach in Eternia Village.
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Apprentice Challenges
Aerial Wizard
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 1 Tunoco Quetzal as a Magician. This monster can be found northwest of the Capital of Mysteria.
As a reward, you’ll receive 500 Stars.
Careful, He’s a Big One
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 3 Giant Grass Serpents as a Magician. The Giant Grass Serpents can be found southeast of the Valley of Spirits near the ledges leading to Idylla Village.
As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Carrots, Roasted or Sliced?
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 8 Carroty as a Magician. These monsters can be found in Lulab Forest.
As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Faux Oak Tree
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 8 Pseudo Oak as a Magician. These monsters can be found in Lulab Forest.
To find them, enter the forest from the Valley of Spirits. Once inside, head north to the next circle area then head east and go all the way to the south. There you’ll find the Pseudo Oaks. As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Fluffy and ferocious
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 8 Fluff Baller as a Magician. These monsters can be found in Lulab Forest on Faraway Island.
As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Furry and Formidable
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 8 Cashmeer as a Magician. These monsters can be found in Lulab Forest.
When you enter the forest from the Valley of Spirits, head west and they will be in the same area as the Goldmeer boss. As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Go Back to the Mountains
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 8 Hill Spiders as a Magician. These monsters can be found on Faraway Island at night. We found them in Idylla Village near the map transition to Lulab Forest at night.
As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Killer Bear on the Loose
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 3 Killer Bears as a Magician. These monsters can be found in Lulab Forest on Faraway Island during the day.
As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Like Shooting Stars
For this life challenge, you’ll need to use the Shooting Star skill 20 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 150 Stars.
Adept Challenges
Azure Frogs
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 10 Splash Frog as a Magician. You can find these monsters in Yohoho Cavern. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Before it Approaches…
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 10 Bitey Sharks as a Magician. You can find these monsters in the Tropica Isles. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Dragon-Slaying Magic
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 1 Prairie Dragon as a Magician. You can find this monster in Lulab Forest on Faraway Island. As a reward, you’ll receive 700 Stars.
Rolling Stars
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 10 Star Beetle Baller as a Magician. You can find these monsters in Da Finci Cave. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Stay Alert
For this life challenge, you’ll need to use the Thaumaturgy skill 20 times as a Magician. As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
The Sandzard Boss
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 3 Greater Sandzard as a Magician. You can find these monsters in Da Finci Cave. As a reward, you’ll receive 500 Stars.
The Umbral Flash
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 10 Umbral Runners as a Magician. You can find these monsters in Da Finci Cave. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
The White Speedster
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 10 White Runners as a Magician. You can find these monsters in Da Finci Cave. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Watch Out for Beetles
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 10 Snow Beetle Ballers as a Magician. You can find these monsters in Yohoho Cavern. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Watch Out for Big Beetles
For this life challenge, you’ll need to defeat 3 Greater Sea Beetle Ballers as a Magician. You can find these monsters in Yohoho Cavern. As a reward, you’ll receive 500 Stars.
