How to Start The Cook’s Story Questline
To begin The Cook’s Story questline in Fantasy Life i, select the Cook Life License in Eternia Village’s Guild Office.
Next, speak with Cocott in the Cook’s Guild and Restaurant in Eternia Village to become a Novice.
Cook Life Challenges
Novice Challenges
A Bite of Happiness
Next, head behind the Armory in Eternia Village and speak with Broyle to obtain 2 Chicken Eggs. Now that you have the eggs, return to the Cook’s Guild and Restaurant and speak with Lanche inside. He’ll give you the Boiled Egg recipe!
Once you’re ready, step up to the workbench in the center of the room. If you haven’t already, choose your signature then craft the Boiled Egg following the tutorial.
After crafting the Boiled Egg, report your success to Lanche. Next, you’ll need to travel up to the Capital of Mysteria in search of a Tip-Top Tomato. Once in the capital, head to the market on the eastern side of the area and speak with the Material Shop to learn that they are fresh out. Thankfully, Soprano shows up to save the day!
Since you have the tomato, return to Cocott, who will then give you the Gourmet Fluffy Omelet recipe. Next, you’ll be tasked with making a Gourmet Fluffy Omelet.
The recommended level to craft this dish is 100. Practice crafting other dishes to raise your cooking level if need be! To make a successful omelet, you must get an Excellent while crafting.
After you craft the omelet, speak with Cocott. As a reward, you’ll receive 500 Dosh!
Fledgling Challenges
While working on the life challenges for cooking, you’ll want to turn them in as soon as you have enough to reach the Apprentice rank. This will give you an Iron Frying Pan, which will make it easier to cook Level 2 recipes.
Are You Sure That’s Sugar?
For the Are You Sure That’s Sugar? life challenge, you’ll need to craft 2 Grilled Crucian. To craft two Grilled Crucians, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Mysteria Crucian x2
- Purchase for 50 Dosh from the Restaurant in the Cook’s Guild in Eternia Village
- Fish from a Small Fish Shallow in the pond near the Carpenter’s Guild west of Eternia Village
- Salt x2
- Purchase for 30 Dosh from the Restaurant in the Cook’s Guild in Eternia Village
If you wanted to skip crafting the Grilled Crucian, you can purchase them from the Cook’s Guild and Restaurant for 100 Dosh each. As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Can You Make Quiche?
For the Can You Make Quiche? life challenge, you’ll need to craft 2 Mushroom Quiches. To craft these dishes, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Chicken Eggs x4
- Gather from behind the Cook’s Guild
- Milk x2
- Purchase for 30 Dosh from the Restaurant in the Cook’s Guild in Eternia Village
- Mushroom x4
- Gather from Miner’s Novice Pit which is northwest of Eternia Village

For the Fledgling Cooking Skills life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while crafting 20 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 200 Stars.

For the Is It Well-Done? life challenge, you’ll need to craft 2 Steaks. To craft these dishes, you’ll need the following ingredients:
