The Brain Benders of Auntie’s Choice Side Quest Guide
How to Start The Brain Benders of Auntie’s Choice Side Quest
You’ll naturally come to this side quest while working through The Saboteur of Paradise main quest, which brings you to Fairfield’s town hall. You’ll meet both Minister Milverstreet and Acquisitions Officer Kaur there, who both have jobs for you. Choosing to help one will lock you out of helping the other. This is the quest you’ll get if you decide to help Minister Milverstreet.
The Brain Benders of Auntie’s Choice Walkthrough
Minister Milverstreet is looking to win over the people of Westport with either kindness or cruelty.
Before completing this side quest, help Vigilant Hogarth with Westport’s automechs by completing The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals, a side quest that can be missed if you wait until everyone departs for Fairfield.
Speak to Vigilant Hogarth in Westport

Travel to Westport on the eastern edge of Paradise Island. Once there, make your way to the second level of the biggest building, which can be found on the eastern side, and exit to the balcony where you’ll find Vigilant Hogarth. Speak with him and try to convince him to take his people and leave for Fairfield.
You will now have a choice on how you want to convince Hogarth to move the people of Westport to Fairfield:
Sabotage Westport Infrastructure
If you choose the Sabotage Westport Infrastructure route, you must destroy three important pieces of Westport infrastructure:
- Generator
- Water Purifier
- Loudspeaker System
Sabotage Generator
To find the generator, head to the southeastern-most building in Westport. Once there, head to the back of the building and jump up to the hole on the eastern side.

Inside, you’ll find the generator. Examine it! Next, sabotage it by using the Portable Galvanic Subverter the Minister gave you. After sabotaging the main power generator, pick up the Keycard – Westport Generator Station from the crate to the right of the sealed door and use it to leave.

Sabotage Water Purifier

Next, head to the restricted section on the north side of Westport. There will be two mechanicals patrolling this area. You must sneak past them to reach the Westport Potable Water Supply and sabotage it.
Tossball Card: Anthony Rogers – Make sure to loot the container on the platform with the Westport Potable Water Supply to get this tossball card!

Sabotage Loudspeaker

From the main gate facing town hall, take a left and head up the stairs to find a building with the antenna and speaker. In order to enter, you will need to find a Keycard – Westport Broadcast Facility, which can be found on the first floor of town hall.

Another key can be found on the outdoor patio table near Vigilant Hogarth.

Once you have a key, use it to open the Proclamation Station.
Inside, head to the back room and interact with the Protectorate Declaratory Address System. Use Auntie’s Choice Automated Propagandizer to permanently overwrite Protectorate broadcasts.
Secure Westport Defections
If you choose the Secure Westport Defections route, you must convince three key subjects to defect to Fairfield:
- Charlton Weintraut
- Interim Chief Mechanist Pinckney
- Curativist Rowe
Sway Charlton Weintraut
In Westport, head for the flooded section in the northwestern part of the area.

There you’ll find a house filled with lots of Auntie’s Choice products. Examine the terminal in the room and read all the messages. This will give you a leg up when speaking with Charlton.

Next, speak with Charlton, who is standing across from the Requisitions Mech. Exhaust all of his dialog options and make sure you give him a Case of Auntie’s Choice Purpleberry Krunch, which you had received from the Minister.
Interim Chief Mechanist Pinckney

After speaking with Charlton, speak with Interim Chief Mechanist Pinckney near the city gates. Exhaust all of his dialog options and make sure you ask him about Auntie’s Choice Automated Propagandizer, which you received from the Minister. He’ll mention where you can find the Proclamation Station.

From the main gate facing town hall, take a left and head up the stairs to find the building with the antenna and speaker. In order to enter, you will need to find a Keycard – Westport Broadcast Facility, which can be found on the first floor of town hall.

Another key can be found on the outdoor patio table near Vigilant Hogarth.

Once you have a key, use it to open the Proclamation Station. Inside, head to the back room and interact with the Protectorate Declaratory Address System and use Auntie’s Choice Automated Propagandizer to permanently overwrite Protectorate broadcasts.
Once the ads are blaring, return to Pinckney and speak with him. In order to convince him to defect, you must have Speech 3!
Sway Curativist Rowe

The last person you must convince is the doctor, Curativist Rowe, who can be found in the clinic on the first floor of the giant building at Westport.
Speak with her and exhaust all her dialog options! Make sure to give her the Case of Auntie’s Choice Ambidextrine that the Minister gave you. You must have Speech 2 to convince her to take them!
She’ll then want you to obtain some Waterlogged Protectorate Medicine from the ruins on the northwestern side of Westport. You’ll find numerous tubes of this medicine in containers, on bodies, or just lying around. You’ll only need to give her four of these, or you can convince her if you have one of the following:
- Medical 2 and Speech 2
- Leadership 3
Return to Vigilant Hogarth
Before completing this side quest, help Vigilant Hogarth with Westport’s automechs by completing The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals, a side quest that can be missed if you wait until everyone departs for Fairfield.
After sabotaging the infrastructure or convincing the key pillars of the community to leave, return to Hogarth and speak with him about leaving. Exhaust all of his dialog options, convincing him to permit his people, including him, to leave.
Return to Minister Milverstreet
With Westport moving to Fairfield, it’s now time to return to Minister Milverstreet and give him the good news. The mission will then end and you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Limited Production Gentleperson’s Oxonian
- Bit Cartridge x942
- 1,080 XP
- Auntie’s Choice Rep Increase
