by Welcome to our Baten Kaitos Walkthrough Part 4 – Mira. In this walkthrough, we’ll cover all the areas on the fourth whale, called Mira, including the story, items, Quzman family members and favors! If you’d like a guide on each area, specifically what items can be found in the shops, enemy weaknesses and an overview of all items found there, click here then select the area you’re trying to find information on!
Parnasse
Upon your arrival at Parnasse, a cutscene will trigger with Tisocco and Donella. When it ends, head forward a short way to trigger another cutscene. Afterwards, visit the nearby blue flower! The shop can be found west of the blue flower.
Next, speak with the Fat Man with a Bracelet who is sitting down southeast of the blue flower.
Tell him that Sabin’s there as he’ll see through your lie otherwise. To sign the family tree, he’ll want you to bring him a tasty snack…
Afterwards, enter the southern doorway on the right to find Trill. She’ll need some Mira Chocolate. In this room, make sure to gather a Magnus: Frozen Tangerine from the fridge and Mira Cream from the white pots to the left of the oven.
Exit the house and head up to the next building, which is Donella’s bakery. Inside, speak with the person in the southeastern corner then agree to watch the oven. You don’t actually have to stay so continue exploring. Speak with the guy next to the chocolate to hand over the Mira Cream. In return, you’ll need to interact with the vat of chocolate to receive Mira Chocolate.
Now that you have the chocolate, return to Trill’s bakery and speak with her to hand over the chocolate which will trigger a cutscene.
Afterwards, exit the building and make your way to the northern doorway. Inside you’ll find a Magnus: Chronos Armor in the dresser in the southeastern corner and a Magnus: Fresh Meat in the northwestern corner.
Once you’ve fully explored the town, exit Parnasse and head to Detourne, the Mystical Garden.
Detourne
Once you arrive at Detourne, jump across the water on the right side using the red cube. Interact with the person to learn more information then head through the door to trigger a mini game.
As you make your way through this maze, make sure to fight all the green slimes as it will cause a chest to spawn in the southwestern corner.
In the maze, head through the north central set of stairs to reach the roof of the previous room. Jump east and speak with the Golden Hero to receive Jet Boots.
If you speak with him again and ask for help, he’ll give you a Red Necklace. Speak with him a third time to receive a White Sword. Next, head south to the middle stairwell.
There you’ll find a Magnus: Whirlwind Hit to the west of the scale and a Magnus: Silver Barrette to the southeast of the scale. Interact with the scale then make the blue dish heavier by placing Pristine Water (which you can gather from the water around the scale using a blank card) in it.
Afterwards, return to the north central stairwell and interact with the chain.
Select to break it then jump across to the red flower to save. Afterwards, head to the south central stairwell. Head to the west by jumping over the cube then head through the doorway.
Open the chest to receive a Magna Essence of the Golden Pickaxe. Make sure to put this in a blank card as you’ll need it to break the golden walls of the maze to reach the wooden door.
Next, return to the middle central stairwell where the scale is then place the Pristine Water into the red dish to make it heavier. It is now time to head to the southeastern stairwell. You’ll be able to jump across the red cube to reach the middle where the Golden Key rests on another red cube.
Return to the wooden door in the maze and open it! Heading inside will trigger a cutscene followed by a boss fight against Magnus Giganticus who uses Dark attacks. It resists water and dark. Defeat this card to trigger a cutscene.
Afterwards, return to Parnasse to trigger a cutscene. During the cutscene, select to save Melodia! To get out of the house, speak with everyone a couple of times and eventually Gibari will come up with a solution. Upon leaving the house, you’ll travel via world map to Reverence, the Picture Book Village!
Reverence
Upon entering this wacky village, Clairvoyant will greet you. After the cutscene, head west across the bridge then go south to find the Old Woman with a Bracelet standing against the base of the bridge.
She wants to be shown sincerity by Quzman, her ex-husband…
Next, enter the doorway by the blue flower to find the shop! Once you’re done shopping, head through the doorway on the northwestern side of town. On the western yellow bookshelf thing, you’ll find a Magnus: Monolith Pen. On the other bookshelf, you’ll find a Magnus: Tri-Crescendo Pen.
To proceed forward, speak with the blue robot near the bridge to find out that you’ll need Mirage Weed.
Detourne
To retrieve this material, travel to Detourne, the Mystical Garden, then head to the western side of the room near the woman to find essence of Mirage Weed.
Trap it in a blank card then return to Reverence.
Reverence
After speaking with the robot, a new doorway will be revealed in the northwestern corner. Head inside then speak with the Fortune Teller. After the conversation, exit the building to trigger another cutscene outside. When it’s finished, make your way to the world map and proceed to Nekton, Shrine of Spirits.
Nekton
After a brief cutscene, press forward through the area. Take the northwestern path then follow it to find the Magnus: Wind God Blade.
Backtrack to the first area and take the southwestern path to find a Magnus: Corona Borealis (Star Map Fragment).
Head north to the next area with the red flower to find a Magnus: Water Blade.
The Fillers drop a Cepheus (Star Map Fragment) and the Ray-moo drop the Hercules (Star Map Fragment).
Now that you’ve explored everything, save at the red flower then proceed west to encounter a trio of familiar faces and Melodia. After your encounter, you’ll begin the boss fight against Sikri. This creature is weak to wind and dark and resists light and chronos. It can also increase its defense during combat and uses the Life Drain skill, which will steal your HP to replenish its own. In addition it paralyzes your party members so they cannot attack. Make sure to snap a picture before you destroy this creature! Upon its defeat, it will drop the Virgo (Star Map Fragment).
During the cutscene, you’ll discover that the End Magnus is missing! When the cutscene ends, travel to Balancoire, Borough of Illusion.
Balancoire
After the brief cutscene, speak with the woman near the base of the stairs to learn that she has a favor to see a cloud.
These clouds can be obtained from the machine located in The Cloud Passage in Diadem!
Next, enter the eastern house to find a Magnus: Sugar Cane on the eastern side. From the stove you can acquire the magna essence of the Stoked Flame. On the bookshelf east of the bed, you’ll find a Magnus: Millinery.
Exit the house then make your way to the doorway next to the blue flower to find the shop!
Once you’re done shopping, head up the stairs and enter the first house to find essence of Stoked Flame and a Magnus: Pot of Air. Interact with the Elder to hear her tale then exit the house. Just before exiting, examine the plants on the west side of the exit to find a Magnus: Cedar Tree.
Afterwards, head north and enter the restaurant. Speak with the old man sitting at the table to learn that he’s always wanted to buy his wife a Gold Nugget.
If you give one to him, you’ll receive a Magnus: Deluxe Pastry. While here, interact with the southern side of the counter to find a Magnus: Deluxe Fruit Drink and the oven to find a Magnus: Bacon.
Also, make sure to speak with Trill’s father near the counter!
When you leave, a quick cutscene will trigger. Head back inside and speak with Trill’s father. He’ll ask you to do a favor for him. Head outside then speak with the person next to the door. Coach him through with whichever options you’d like then return to Trill’s father to obtain a Magnus: Scorpion Barrette.
Now that you’ve explored everything, head west of the restaurant to find The Duke’s Manor.
The Duke’s Manor
Once inside, a cutscene will trigger. When it ends, examine the water near the entrance to find the magna essence of the Stagnant Water. In the display room, head to the northwestern display case to find a Magnus: Offering Box. Also in this room, interact with the southern drums to find a Magnus: Piscis Austrinus (Star Map Fragment).
Next, head up the stairs and enter the western room. Inside you’ll find a Magnus: Sleet Shawl in the chair.
Also in this room, you’ll find a Magnus: Tearless Mermaid hiding under the bed.
Exit this room and head to the eastern room. In this room, inspect the pictures on the eastern side to find a Magnus: The Silent Woman. On the western bookshelf, you’ll find a Magnus: Secret Recipe 5.
After you’ve finished exploring, it’s time to enter the double doors on the second floor. Upon entering this room, a cutscene will trigger. When it ends, head down the stairs and enter the display case room to trigger another cutscene during which Mizuti will join your party! Head down the stairs to enter Coccolith.
Coccolith
Near the entrance interact with the item to find a Magnus: Robe of Firelight.
Afterwards, head west through the doorway to find the maze. In this maze, head just past the spinning crescent moon statue to find a Magnus: Heaven’s Pillar.
Return to the moon statue and interact with it to head to the next area where you’ll find a Magnus: Corona Australis (Star Map Fragment).
In the third area, save at the red flower then interact with the moon statue to trigger a cutscene followed by a fight against Phantasm. This creature is weak to wind and dark and resists light and chronos. The boss’ move called Eyes of Terror can inflict multiple status ailments. Upon defeating Phantasm, the Capricornus (Star Map Fragment) will drop.
After the fight a long cutscene will trigger. When you gain control, enter the western bedroom and speak with Melodia when you’re ready to set off for Alfard.
