Find Whetstone in the Quarry
After the lengthy dialog event, head into the mine. Make your way down to the bottom left side of the first area and approach the ! next to the giant crystal.
Find someone looking to open a magic store in the Plaza
Travel to the Plaza and speak with Jashan, who is standing to the right of the Outlander Lane map transition.
Complete Jashan’s request
Complete the Care to Try my Resource Bag? side quest.
Find someone looking to open a store in the Rune Quarter
Head next door to the Bagmaker then speak with Ilda.
Complete Ilda’s request
Complete A Book on The Barrows side quest.
Create an Earth Rune
Interact with the Rune Shop to craft the Earth Rune Lv. 1.
Find someone looking to open a store in the Rune Quarter
Head right of the Rune Shop then speak with Joerg.
Complete Joerg’s request
Complete the Running Low on Raw Lenses side quest.
Find Whetstone in the Quarry
Now that you have the Earth Rune and Rune-Lens, make sure to equip it then head to the Quarry and return to the giant crystal in the bottom left of the first area of the mine. With the Earth Rune equipped, press X on the crystal pillar to break it then proceed forward. In the next area, head all the way to the left side to find the Whetstone on the ground. Pick it up then return to Iugo in the Plaza. After speaking with him, the quest will complete.
