Once you receive it, head to the workbench and craft it using 12 wood. Afterwards, talk to Tom Nook and select the option to talk about the wardrobe. He will then want you to interact with the workbench again. To customize the wardrobe, select the wooden wardrobe then a screen will pop up where you can select the color you want the wardrobe to be. Once you pick your color and have it selected, press + to officially make the selection. When your wardrobe has been customized, talk to Tom Nook again. He will then let you know that you will now have access to customization kits from the shop.

Animal Crossing New Horizons – How to plant fruit trees?

by MrsChappie in

As you start exploring other islands, you will come across different fruits that can be planted on your island. It is important to note that fruits which are not native to your home island sell for more in the store. To plant a foreign fruit on your island, dig a hole in the location you would like the tree. *NOTE: If you accidentally dig a hole in the wrong spot, you can always face it and press “a” to fill it back in. Once the hole has been dug, open up your inventory and scroll to the fruit. Select “plant” and the seed will automatically be planted! It takes about 3 actual days for the tree to grow, but once it does, you will be able to harvest the fruits it produces and use them to plant more trees!

Animal Crossing New Horizons – How to remove tree stumps?

by MrsChappie in

In Animal Crossing New Horizons, you can accidentally cut down a tree if you eat a fruit and use the Flimsy Axe on a tree too many times. You can also cut down trees using the Axe on the third swing. Unfortunately tree stumps do not grow back so you have two solutions! You can either leave it there and use it as a stool or you can use your shovel and dig it out. *NOTE: If you leave it alone and choose not to dig it up, you can sometimes find bugs on the stumps.

Animal Crossing New Horizons – What are the shiny spots on the ground for?

by MrsChappie in

As you explore your island, you might come across a shiny spot on the ground (see image above). If you click “a” on the switch, nothing happens so what do you do with it? The answer to that question is to use a shovel to dig it up. The shiny spot means a sack of money is buried underground in that particular location. Dig it up for a great reward! You can either pocket the money or in the same shiny hole, you can rebury it and a money tree will sprout! It does take awhile for the tree to bear money so be patient.

Animal Crossing New Horizons – How to build a new shop?

by MrsChappie in

After your first home is ready (small one room house that you got to pick the color roof for), head to Resident Services to trigger a dialog scene. Afterwards, speak to Timmy who asks for your help gathering supplies so the shop can be built. He will need donations of 30 hardwood, 30 wood, 30 softwood and 30 iron nuggets. You can gather the hardwood, wood and softwood by using an axe on the trees around the island. For the iron nuggets, you will need to use your axe on rocks. Once you gather the materials, talk to Timmy and inquire about building a shop to donate the materials. *NOTE: He only accepts donations in amounts of 30 (i.e. 30 hardwood, not 29 hardwood). When you have gathered all of the materials, you’ll need to wait a day in real time for it to be ready.

Animal Crossing New Horizons – How to find communicator parts for Gulliver?

by MrsChappie in

Around the second day of playing Animal Crossing New Horizons, a bird named Gulliver will wash up on your shore near the airport. To wake Gulliver up, keep talking to him numerous times! Eventually, he will wake up. When he does, you’ll learn he fell off his ship and has no way of contacting his crew to come and pick him up. Gulliver will task you with finding 5 communicator parts, which are buried in the sand. To figure out where to dig, look for a small, dark dot appears in the sand that squirts a stream of water out (see image below). *NOTE: Other objects can also be dug up in these spots besides the communicator parts.

When you find all 5 communicator parts, return to Gulliver and hand them over. Gulliver with then be able to call his crew and promises to send you something in the mail tomorrow as a reward!

Animal Crossing New Horizons – How to build a museum?

by MrsChappie in

Once you have recruited Blathers (check out our guide here for how to recruit Blathers), visit him in his tent and speak with him. In order to build a museum, Blathers needs to have a total of 15 different fish, insects and/or assessed fossils. The 5 you previously gave Tom Nook count towards this total. Blathers will give you DIY recipes for a shovel (which you will need to dig up fossils) and a vaulting pole (which you can use to jump across a river). *NOTE: You can purchase Pretty Good Tool Recipes for 3,000 miles from the Nook Stop located in Resident Services using the Redeem Nook Miles option. If you purchase these recipes, your tools will last longer and make it easier to collect items.

Once you have crafted the items, head out on your island to explore new places! The spots marked with cracks on the ground (see image below) are where you can dig up fossils.

Once you have an assortment of different items, return to Blathers to donate them. For the first fossil, you can just give that to Blathers, however, the rest you will need to first have him assess them before he will accept them as donations. When you have donated a total of 15 different things to Blathers, you will have to wait a day in real life for the museum to be ready. While you are waiting, Blathers will not accept any donations, but he will still assess fossils.

Animal Crossing New Horizons – How to recruit first neighbor?

by MrsChappie in

To recruit the first neighbor in Animal Crossing New Horizons named Blathers, you will need to collect 5 different fish and/or insects. After you collect the fish/insects, show them to Tom Nook who will then receive a call from Blathers who announces that he will be moving to the island. Tom Nook will then task you with finding a spot for Blathers. Once you found the spot you would like to place Blather’s tent, open up your inventory by selecting “x” then select Blather’s tent to place it. After you complete this task, return to the Resident Services (where Tom Nook always is) to trigger a brief dialog scene. You will then need to wait a day in real life. The following morning Blathers will appear in his tent with a new task for you!
