South of Midnight Readables for Lore Master Achievement

Chapter 1 Readables

In South of Midnight’s Chapter 1, you’ll find 3 Readables.

1/3 – Bunny’s Note to Lily

During the “Escape the mansion” objective, you’ll find yourself in a locked guest bedroom when you awaken. Before exiting this room via the balcony, inspect the note on the mirrored dresser.

2/3 – Bunny’s Desk Entry

During the “Find a way out of the office” objective, you’ll find yourself in a locked office. Before interacting with the bookshelf to leave, inspect the note on Bunny’s desk.

3/3 – Bunny’s Lounge Chair Entry

In the same room as the above collectible, read the note on the lounge chair.

Chapter 2 Readables

In South of Midnight’s Chapter 2, you’ll find 4 Readables.

1/4 – The Weaver’s Call

During the “Find a way inside the house” objective, you’ll see the ghosts next to a bridge then they have to run off to hide. Before entering the house they go into, head straight ahead and enter the house on the left with the open front door. Inside, inspect the lantern design on the wall next to a quilt.

2/4 – Spirits, Speak to Me!

After pulling the crate inside the barn and jumping up the ledges to the top, you’ll spot a barrel next to the open window. Interact with the note on this barrel to get this Readable.

3/4 – Please Speak to Me…

Press forward just a bit to find the spirits on top of a ledge, mentioning how the fire didn’t catch. Instead of following them to the right, head left and blast away the brush. Inside this alcove, you’ll find this Readable.

4/4 – Stigma and Sorrow

Once you slide down the cave, you’ll enter a tunnel. Inspect the lantern drawing on the wall.

Chapter 3 Readables

In South of Midnight’s Chapter 3, you’ll find 7 Readables.

1/7 – The Happiest Day

Inspect the firefly lantern drawing on the wall along the main path to acquire this readable.

2/7 – The St. Sylvain Bulletin

This Readable will be on Rhubarb’s shack.

3/7 – Follow the Lights

Head behind Rhubarb’s shack to the other shack. You’ll find these two items on the dock.

4/7 – Ain’t Wanted Here

On the main path, you’ll come across a house with the door open. Head inside to find this note on a small table in the kitchen.

5/7 – A Gift for Corrine

After the fight and filling the bottle with pain for the first time, you’ll find a house with stairs you can build. Instead of building these stairs, head through the house to reach a dock. On it, you’ll find this Readable.

6/7 – Beggin’ your pardon, Mayor

Head inside the above house. You’ll find this letter on a table in the kitchen.

7/7 – Come One, Come All!

In the same building as the above, head upstairs to find this note tacked to a pole.

Chapter 4 Readables

In South of Midnight’s Chapter 4, you’ll find 3 Readables.

2/3 – Lay Off Buddy

After fighting the first enemies of the chapter, jump across the pond then take a left instead of going right to follow the main path. Clear the brush then head down the newly opened path to find a house and enter it.

Inside, you’ll find the letter on the bed.

1/3 – Grocery List

Exit the house then follow the path to the right. Use the two grapple points to reach the dock behind the house. You’ll find this grocery list on the barrel.

3/3 – Burrower’s – Lord’s Day

Inspect the tree trunk in the graveyard near the church. It will be across from where you fight the enemies.

Chapter 5 Readables

In South of Midnight’s Chapter 5, you’ll find 11 Readables.

1/11 – Burrower’s Pieces of the Self

This letter can be found by interacting with the tree stump next to the burrow.

2/11 – Statue Flyer

This note can be found tacked to a broken fence in front of Auntie Belle’s Diner sign.

3/11 – Burrower’s – Iron

After speaking with Jolene in the church, you’ll find yourself outside staring at a crate. Inspect the letter on this crate to find this collectible.

4/11 – Hollow Dreamers

This Readable can be found on the couch, which is on the front porch of the house next to the above Floof.

5/11 – Kids Need a Hand

This Readable can be found inside the house with the bottle tree out front. It will be on the dining room table.

6/11 – Jo’s Penance

In the same house as the above, head up the stairs to find this note in Jolene’s bedroom on the desk.

7/11 – Yard Sale Notice

From the above collectible, turn around and hug the water until you spot a trailer on the left. Inspect the note on the chair of the front porch.

8/11 – Honor thy Father and Mother

This letter can be found on the coffee table in the living room of the farmhouse with the bottle tree out front.

9/11 – A Bashful Farmhand in the Setting Sun

This letter can be found on a desk in the other upstairs bedroom across from the bedroom containing the above Floof.

10/11 – The Pigs are a Loss

This note can be found on a table to the right of the door that you first enter the room through. It will be in the same room as the Floof.

11/11 – Sutter’s Will and Testament

The last Readable can be found along the main path after climbing up the ledge from going around and around with the little piggy (if you so chose to do!).

Chapter 6 Readables

In South of Midnight’s Chapter 6, you’ll find 10 Readables.

1/10 – Keep Out Sign Materials

Just after constructing a boat to cross the water, you’ll spot this letter on a crate to the right of the main path.

2/10 – Abernathy’s Lament

To the right of the Old Smokey barn, you’ll find a wagon that you can construct. Make it then push it towards the barn and hop on. Use it to reach the roof of the barn then blast through the breakable boards on the roof. Hop inside to find this letter on a crate next to a Health Filament.

3/10 – Burn After Reading

Just before the gate leading to Bunny’s cottage, take the path leading left and follow it to some enemies. After clearing them out, loot this letter on a crate nearby.

4/10 – Correction Request

You can find this note on the bee hive stacks near a small shed.

5/10 – Notes on the Rougarou

You’ll find this note in the living room of Bunny’s cottage.

6/10 – Bunny’s Journal – On Weavers

This note can be found on the left end table next to Bunny’s bed.

7/10 – Notes on Dreams and Fog

You’ll find this note on the right end table next to Bunny’s bed.

8/10 – Missing Children List

This note can be found next to a sewing machine in Bunny’s secret room off of her bedroom.

9/10 – Burrowers Hate a Liar

This letter can be found in a tree stump along the main path during the “Follow the path through the mountain” objective.

10/10 – Huggin’ Molly Sightings

To the left of the main path, you’ll spot a broken bridge. Craft the other part then cross the gap and follow the path. After fighting some enemies, you’ll find this letter on a crate.

Chapter 7 Readables

In South of Midnight’s Chapter 7, you’ll find 15 Readables.

1/15 – The Lost Boy

From the above Floof, climb up the ledge to find this Readable on a crate.

2/15 – Lost Liquor

After fighting the first group of enemies, you’ll find this note at the entrance to a cave.

3/15 – Lieutenant Laurent

Once you see the memory, turn right to find this Readable on a bee house.

4/15 – The Babblin’ Boy

After crossing the river with the floating platforms, turn left to find a cave with purple wisteria hanging above the entrance. Clear the brush then head inside to find this Readable on a crate.

5/15 – Baby Faced Laurent

Just after crossing the river with the rapids, the main path will veer to the right. At this fork in the road, take a left instead to find this Readable.

6/15 – Burrower’s – Lil Drunkards

You’ll find this Readable in a tree trunk along the main path.

7/15 – End of Prohibition

You’ll find this letter along the main path.

8/15 – Boy Out of Time

This Readable can be found inside the Logging Camp Terminal.

9/15 – Heart of Lace

After meeting Laurent, head upstairs in the bar to find this letter.

10/15 – Treatment

This Readable can be found in the building across from the church next to some Floof.

11/15 – A Mother’s Last Words

In the same house as the above Readable, you’ll find this letter on the bed.

12/15 – Everything Helps

This Readable can be found in a building after clearing a Stigma.

13/15 – A Father’s Job

This Readable can be found in another building near the above Readable.

14/15 – A Penny Saved

This can be found on a table on the upper level of the sawmill.

15/15 – Maintaining Productivity

This Readable can be found in the next room adjacent to the above Readable.

Chapter 8 Readables

1/4 – Delta-346 – Missing Child

This Readable can be found on a stump.

2/4 – Delta-346 – Weird Happenings

After taking a wind tunnel, this Readable can be found on the ground next to a Floof.

3/4 – Delta-346 – Red Yarn

After wall running from the previous collectibles, you’ll find this note on a stump.

4/4 – Delta-346 – Search Called Off

This collectible can be found along the main path just before the entrance blocked by red yarn.

Chapter 9 Readables

1/12 – Burrower’s – Feline Intuition

This Readable can be found at the start of Chapter 9. It will be off the main path to the right.

2/12 – Cross my heart…

This Readable can be found inside a house on the couch.

3/12 – Dear Santa

In the same house as the above Readable, you’ll find this letter on the kitchen table.

4/12 – Please Keep In Mind

In the same area as the above burrow, enter the pink house to find this letter next to the coffee machine.

5/12 – You’ll be Sorry

In the same house as the above, you’ll find this on the small kitchen table.

6/12 – Molly Gives a Fright

You’ll find this letter on a picnic table next to a house across from the white building with a sun painted on it.

7/12 – Mandatory Overtime

You’ll find this letter in the second-floor office of the Turf Pine building.

8/12 – She Did It

This readable can be found in front of Molly’s house.

9/12 – Why not me?

This collectible can be found on the coffee table in Molly’s living room.

10/12 – Dear Miss Molly

This note can be found on the table in the kitchen of Molly’s house.

11/12 – Decision of Transfer

This Readable can be found next to a sewing machine on the second level of Molly’s house.

12/12 – Is it true?

At the center of the cave, you’ll find a house. Enter the house by squeezing through then turn immediately to your right to find a bed with this note on it.

Chapter 10 Readables

1/5 – Hope’s Crossing Homecoming

After dropping down from a log, you’ll mention your spindles. Turn left to find this drawing on the wall with some Floof.

2/5 – Sleep and Smoke

After getting your first spindle back, use it to grapple. On the other side, stick to the right side to find a house and enter it. Inside, you’ll find this drawing on the wall.

3/5 – A Close Call

After collecting the first batch of fireflies, follow the strands to the left to find a house with stairs that you’ll need to build. Do so to find this Readable on the wall inside.

4/5 – A Grand Wedding

Grapple across the water to reach the building containing this drawing.

5/5 – The Flower Child

After playing hide-and-seek with Honey, you’ll follow the creature back to its cave. Inside this cave you’ll find this drawing on the wall.

Chapter 11 Readables

There are 8 Readables in South of Midnight’s Chapter 11.

1/8 – An Anguised Cry

After landing on a dock with 4 exploding mushrooms, look to your left and just off the path you’ll see this drawing on a cliff wall.

2/8 – Stowaway’s Tin Box

After you clear the Stigma on the riverboat, you’ll find this in one of the rooms that was previously covered by gunk.

3/8 – Bill of Fare

This Readable can be found on a table in the dining hall of the riverboat.

4/8 – Old Pain, New Life

This drawing can be found on a tree to the right after exiting the area where you fight the Stigma and find out who is wandering around the swamp.

5/8 – A Bittersweet Reunion

Before heading on down the main path, make sure to inspect the Readable on the rock wall in the area where you fought the Stigma. If the lady starts throwing mud at you again, you went too far!

6/8 – False Knowledge

This Readable can be found on the wall in the main hall of the riverboat.

7/8 – Captain’s Log

After riding the elevator in the riverboat up, head to the right to find this Readable on a table near a giant wheel.

8/8 – A Final Message

After reuniting the mother and son, you’ll head through an archway. Follow the main path to find this drawing on the left wall of the second archway.

Chapter 12 Readables

There are 19 Readables in South of Midnight’s Chapter 12!

1/19 – Should I Leave?

This Readable can be found on the right side of the main path. It will be when you reach the crossroads at the beginning of the chapter on a stump next to a lantern.

2/19 – Should I Stay?

We took the path on the left. It was not right. We took the path on the right, and then we had to pull up the sign that fell down. Next, we took the middle path, and Hazel said something about “this is new.” Then we found ourselves back where we first entered this area, with the stump in front of us. This time, a wagon was there, too. In the exact same spot as the above Readable, inspect the note again to find that it’s different!

3/19 – The Record Keeps Skipping

This Readable can be found tacked to the gramaphone in the wagon.

4/19 – Milk and Sugar, Love?

This Readable can be found on a tea tray in the wagon.

5/19 – Ring, Ring

This note can be found tacked to a tricycle in the wagon.

6/19 – Roux’s Limerence

This note can be found on a table at the top of the stairs on the second level of the wagon.

7/19 – The Hungry Maw

This note can be found on the fridge on the second level of the wagon.

8/19 – Still Stars Don’t Remember

In the area after fighting the first group of enemies, hop the fence to find this Readable on a bistro table near a moveable crate.

9/19 – Joe Goodfellow, 74

Before taking the wind tunnel, look to your right to spot this note on a door along the main path.

10/19 – The Many Little Things

After taking the wind tunnel, immediately look to your left to spot this collectible on a folding chair.

11/19 – Hollowed Love

From the above Readable, continue around the balcony to the other side of the building just past where you previously landed to spot this note to the left on a table. (See the above image!)

12/19 – Spit It Out

Take the next wind tunnel. When you emerge, head behind the building to your right to find this note on a table.

13/19 – Ella Mae, 7

This note can be found tacked to a door just before the next fight.

14/19 – I miss, I miss, I miss

From the above collectible, turn around and look down below to find a platform that you can construct. Do so then head right through the archway and look up to spot a grapple point. Use it to find some Floof. Behind it you’ll spot this Readable on a table.

15/19 – Would be Beautiful

After taking out the enemies, head along the main path a short ways. When you pass under the fancy black scrolled walkway, head up the small flight of stairs then turn around and face the walkway you just walked under. On it, you’ll see a sign that you can pull down. Do so then jump to that walkway. Follow the path left to reach this Readable next to some Floof.

16/19 – Tempest Hamlin, 42

17/19 – Passage

In the clocktower, you’ll find this Readable on a table next to the box of gears that you’ll need to progress the main story.

18/19 – I’m trying

You’ll find this Readable on a stool next to a gear along the main path in the clocktower.

19/19 – You Gotta Release It

After clearing the Stigma at the top of the clocktower, exit to the outside then head immediately to the left to find this Readable on a crate next to some Floof.

Chapter 13 Readables

In Chapter 13, there are two Readables.

1/2 – Run, Rabbit, Run

After being chased by the fog, you’ll find yourself in another set. Hug the right side to find a small room to the right of a mural. In this room, you’ll find the Readable on the workbench.

2/2 – Eternally She Waits

After the second chase, you’ll enter another set. Inspect the Readable on the desk in the center of the set.
