How to Start the Schemes of the Secret Smugglers Side Quest
To begin the Schemes of the Secret Smugglers side quest in The Outer Worlds 2, you’ll need to travel to the town of Fairfield on Eden’s Paradise Island. Once there, enter the first house on the left as you come from the eastern entrance and interact with the terminal inside.
Be sure to read through all of the messages to start the side quest. In addition, you should also read the information on the terminal in the Constabulary to gain more knowledge on this case!
Reading the information on this terminal will also start the mission!
Schemes of the Secret Smugglers Walkthrough
Investigate the Fairfield Greenhouse
The compliance adjuster received anonymous evidence against some smugglers from an unknown benefactor, whom he suspects could be Emeline Galloway, the greenhouse overseer.
To begin your investigation, travel to the northeastern side of Fairfield and enter the greenhouse to find Emeline Galloway.
When speaking with Emeline, choose the following option:
- Security thinks you’re up to more than growing plants. Care to tell me what’s going on?
You’ll then need to have the following skills to get her to talk:
- Sneak 3 or Hack 3
- Leadership 3
Alternatively, we were able to choose the Renegade Background option!
You can also select the option:
- I read your terminal and know you’re involved in a lot more than just this greenhouse.
You should have had this from when you were poking around on the terminal in her house. This will cause her to get straight to business.
When you get her to talk, she’ll offer you the job of being a well-paid accomplice. She’ll then explain that she is part of Sub Rosa, the black market in Arcadia. Accept the job to continue with the quest!
Gain Access to Officer Cardosa’s Terminal
Since you have been tasked with deleting records of Auntie Fizzo’s Spectrum Vodka from Chief Replenishment Officer Cardosa’s terminal in Fairfield, make your way over to her structure on the western side of Fairfield.
When you arrive, speak with her about the dropships and ask if she could show you the one over there! This will cause her to walk away from the Replenishment Terminal Keycard that is resting on a crate by the front door.
When her back is turned, quickly steal the keycard and follow her to the dropship for the quick tour. After she’s finished, leave her side, then enter her station and interact with the terminal to adjust the inventory total, removing Auntie Fizzo’s Spectrum Vodka from the inventory list. Make sure to mark 0 cases!
Return to Emeline in the Greenhouse
After completing your task, return to Emeline in the Fairfield greenhouse to report your success. As a reward for completing the Schemes of the Secret Smugglers quest, you will receive the following items:
- Light Pistol Silencer
- Recipe: Light Pistol Silencer
- Advanced Decryption Key
- Bit Cartridge x350
