How to Start the Savage Salvage Quest
To begin the Savage Salvage side mission in Borderlands 4, interact with the radio southeast of the Wreck of the Maester point of interest.
How to Complete the Savage Salvage Quest
Those who live through a crash usually count themselves lucky, but that luck disappears quickly on Kairos, especially if you land in an area ripe with rippers.
Reach wreck
From the quest giver, head northwest and use the grapple point to reach the higher ledge.
From there, you’ll be able to reach the wreck!
Find stronger signal
Look for the hackable tower on the eastern side of the wreck then use your bot to hack it!
A bunch of enemies will spawn, so clear them out, then return to the bot, who will activate a drill! Hop in the newly created hole to enter the ripper tunnels!
Find crash survivor
Continue forward along the path. Eventually, you’ll reach a large open room with a bunch of enemies. Eliminate them then use your grapple to pull down a panel, allowing you to continue forward.
You’ll find the survivor in the room with the giant ball hanging from the ceiling. Use your grapple hook to open the bottom of the ball. Derek will then pop out!
Follow Derek
After freeing Derek, follow him until he stops just before a ledge. Rippers will then spawn in, so take them out, then continue following Derek. You’ll need to continue this pattern until you reach the ripper drill.
After he hops in, the drill will close after him. To refuel the drill, head to the platform on the right and interact with the console. Next, pull the lever by the drill to release it.
As he blasts through the mountain, he’ll make a tunnel. Follow after him, then pull him up from the ledge. Rippers will, of course, spawn in, so take them out!
Afterwards, you’ll need to defeat the cargo thresher! The mission will then complete, and you’ll be free to loot the red chest.
