Welcome to NGB’s guide for the Returned to the Mountain side mission in Borderlands 4. In this quest, you’ll be tasked with locating the bolts of several fallen Augers cut down by Vile Lictor in their clavehome. Once recovered, your final duty is to honor their sacrifice by placing the bolts at a memorial site in Belton’s Bore.

How to Start the Returned to the Mountain Quest
To begin the Returned to the Mountain side mission in Borderlands 4, speak with Defiant Calder at Belton’s Bore in The Low Leys during the Rising Action main mission.
How to Complete the Returned to the Mountain Quest
Locate and retrieve the bolts of several Augers whom Vile Lictor cut down in their clavehome. Then honor their memories by taking the bolts to a memorial site.
Reach Clavehome
After accepting this mission, travel to The Lambent Mines in Cuspid Climb.
Collect 7 bolts of fallen Augers
Once in The Lambent Mines, you will need to collect seven bolts of the fallen Augers.
Bolt #1
The first can be fallen in the first large room in The Lambent Mines.
Bolt #2
To find the second, head to the next large room. After taking out the enemies, head up the grapple point on the western side of the room.
Once at the top, head left and enter the building to find this bolt in a bloody mess.
Bolt #3
On the northeastern side of the above large room, you’ll find this bolt in a small, half-circle structure.
Bolt #4
After collecting the above bolt, head to the next area to find this bolt amongst some vehicles half-submerged in water.
Bolt #5
From the above, continue along the path, grappling up twice to reach the next checkpoint. Enter the room west of the checkpoint and take a quick left to find this bolt.
Bolt #6
In the next large room filled with all the Kratch, you’ll find this bolt to the west on a structure sticking out of the mountain.
Bolt #7
On the southwestern side of the same room, you’ll find this bolt near a portrait.
Return to Calder
Once you have all the bolts, return to Calder at Belton’s Bore and follow him to the memorial where you’ll need to place the bolts. Afterward, the side mission will complete.
