How to Start the When the Vow Breaks Quest
To begin the When the Vow Breaks quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, speak with Maeva the Buxom at Whitmon Farm, which is just north of Anvil, about a family heirloom. Her husband stole it when he left her, and she would like it back. His name is Bjalfi, and he was last seen heading towards Fort Strand to join up with some marauders currently residing there.
When the Vow Breaks Walkthrough
Retrieve Rockshatter
Travel to Fort Strand, directly east of Anvil, and enter the ruined building. Once inside, work your way down to the “Old Wooden Door to Fort Strand Great Dome” and head through it. There are two paths inside the ruin you can take, and both lead to a wooden door.
Inside, you’ll find a Marauder, Marauder Warlord, and scummy hubby Bjalfi the Contemptible, among other enemies. Take them all out, making sure to loot Rockshatter from Bjalfi. It is a one-handed weapon, so it might be on him or drop to the ground nearby.
Deliver Rockshatter
Report back to Maeva to tell her of her husband’s fate and deliver the weapon. The “When the Vow Breaks” quest will end, and you’ll receive some gold as a reward.
