How to Start the Lonely Wanderer Quest
To begin the Lonely Wanderer quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, you must first complete the My Brother’s Keeper quest in the Dark Brotherhood’s questline. Upon doing so, you’ll start the Lonely Wanderer automatically.
The Lonely Wanderer Quest Walkthrough
Speak with your Brothers and Sisters
Before traveling to the Imperial City to track down the target, speak with Vincente Valtieri and Antoinetta Marie. Vincente will suggest you talk with some elves in the city, while Antoinetta will recommend you speak with Faelian once you find him to learn more about him. That way, you could use that to lure him somewhere secluded.
Track Down Faelian
Travel to the Imperial City, specifically the Market District, and locate the Merchants Inn. Head inside, then look for Nilphas Omellian. Speak with him, asking about Faelian, to learn that he lives in the Tiber Septim Hotel in the Talos Plaza District.
Now that we have a heading, make your way to the Tiber Septim Hotel in the Talos Plaza District near the dragon statue. Enter the building and speak with Augusta behind the front desk, asking about Faelian.
She’ll admit to knowing quite a bit about him, but won’t spill the details with you. You’ll need to raise her disposition to 60 to get her talking. Do so and then ask about Faelian once more. This time, she’ll tell you that he’s a skooma addict and that he only returns to the hotel for a couple of hours at night to visit Atraena before wandering off again.
Look to the right of Augusta to spot a set of stairs in the lobby. Use them to reach the Tiber Septim Hotel Lodgings, then enter the first door on the right to find Atraena. Raise her disposition to 60 through the art of persuasion, then ask her about Faelian. She’ll tell you that he goes to Lorkmir’s House in the Elven Gardens District daily to be alone for a while.
Kill Faelian
Now that we know where Faelian will be, travel to the Elven Gardens District and locate Lorkmir’s House. It can be found two doors to the left of the King and Queen Tavern.
To get inside, you’ll need to pick the hard lock on the front door. We did this at 3:42 PM, and he was there already. At that point, we just snuck up behind him and took him out. This will satisfy the bonus objective of killing him in a secure location with no witnesses.
Return to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary
Now that the mark has been eliminated, return to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary to tell Ocheeva the contract has been completed. You’ll be rewarded with the 100 gold and the Shadowhunt bow if you’ve completed the bonus objective.
