Leave Offering

For this quest, you’ll need to leave an offering of nighshade at the statue between midnight and dawn. Nightshade is a tall plant with purple flowers.

You can find a bunch of nightshade plants just northwest of Fort Irony, which is southeast of Bravil.

Alternatively, you can find nightshade in the water around the shrine in Deepscorn Hollow.

Once you’ve gathered nightshade, return to Mephala’s Shrine between midnight and dawn and activate the shrine by interacting with the base of the statue.

Mephala will tell you of Bleaker’s Way settlement. She would like you to kill the leaders of the two families and leave evidence that the murders were done by the other family. No one is allowed to see you commit these crimes.

Gather Evidence

Travel northwest of Mephala’s Shrine to find Bleaker’s Way.

Once there, head inside Hrol Ulfgar’s house and speak with him about Bleaker’s Way. You’ll learn that he and Nivan Dalvilu are the leaders of the two families.

While here, head upstairs. At the top of the stairs, you’ll spot a table with two chairs straight ahead. Take a right and head through the doorway. Take an immediate left to find a small table next to some stairs leading up. In front of the Guide to Leyawiin book, you’ll find the Ulfgar Family Ring. Take it!

Kill the Leaders

After you kill Nivan Dalvilu, loot his body then press the Search button (RS on XBOX controller). Next, press switch to your character’s inventory (LB on XBOX controller) and select Ulfgar Family Ring to leave it on the corpse.

After you kill Hrol Ulfgar, leave the Dalvilu Ceremonial Dagger on his corpse.

Spread Lies

Now that you’ve committed the crimes, speak with someone in the village about the leaders. This will cause the families to be at each other’s throats.

Return to the Mephala Shrine

With your tasks complete, return to Mephala Shrine and activate the shrine. Mephala will be pleased with the strife you caused and will reward you with the Ebony Blade. The quest will then complete.
