How to Start the Go Fish Quest
To begin the Go Fish quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, speak with Aelwin Merowald in Weye.
Go Fish Walkthrough
Aelwin is looking to acquire 12 Rumare Slaughterfish Scales to sell to a customer. He’s asking you to do the legwork, as he’s getting old and can’t handle the difficult task.
Collect 12 Rumare Slaughterfish Scales
Head north of Weye and enter Lake Rumare. Kill the Rumare Slaughterfish and collect their scales.
This quest will take a considerable amount of time. Sometimes the objective doesn’t actually take you to a fish. The easiest way to tell if something is in the area is to try to pass the time. If an enemy is nearby, you won’t be able to! The enemy will either be this slaughterfish or a mud crab! We mostly found ours along the riverbanks. Another thing you can do is swim on the surface of the lake towards the objective marker and look for bubbles. At those locations, you can find a Slaughterfish. Please note that most do not attack you on sight. You have to be the one to initiate combat, which makes it all up to your eyeballs to spot them!
Deliver the Scales
After finding all the scales, return to Aelwin in Weye and deliver them. As a reward, he’ll give you a ring called the Jewel of the Rumare. It sells for 2,550 gold and has the following effects:
- Water Breathing on Self
- Fortify Athletics on Self 4 pts
