How to Start the A Brush with Death Quest
To begin the A Brush with Death quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, speak with Tivela in her house in Cheydinhal.
A Brush with Death Walkthrough
Rythe has been locked in his studio to work on his latest painting but hasn’t emerged. When Tivela went to investigate, he was gone; however, the study door was still locked. We need to find him!
Investigate Rythe’s Study
On the first floor of their home, enter the room to the right of the fireplace using the key.
Inside the studio, interact with the Unusual Painting to The Painted World. Once inside the painting, speak with Rythe to learn the details of the thief and brush.
Acquire the Brush
Head into the surreal forest and defeat the Painted Trolls along the way to the Bosmer Thief’s corpse.
Once you find the corpse, loot the Brush of Truepaint then bring it to Rythe.
Return to the Real World
Once Rythe has the brush, he’ll paint a portal back to his studio. Interact with the portal to return to the real world. When you arrive, speak with Rythe to complete the A Brush with Death quest. As a reward, you’ll receive the Apron of Adroitness. This light armor cuirass has the following effects:
- Fortify Agility on Self x5 pts
- Fortify Intelligence on Self x5 pts
