Thwart Zorbas Plan Quick Links
Thwart Zorbas Plan Details
The Thwart Zorbas Plan quest will start automatically after you’ve completed the Necromancer Takedown quest. Now that we’ve put an end to Zorba, it’s time to stop his plan by taking out the Human that he reanimated. The game will move you back to the cathedral’s lower level, where you’ll be fully healed and have a chance to save before stopping the rampaging monstrosity. FYI, the game will force you to deal with the Human now.

Escape the Grand Cathedral
Once you’ve had a chance to save, exit the cathedral through the main doors. Once we leave, Hulkenberg will comment that we are off to vanquish the monster, triggering the game and asking you to confirm that you’re ready. Choose the “Let’s take it down” option to proceed. This will then trigger a cutscene leading to a fight against the Human!!
Boss Fight: Homo Avades
The Human we’ll be facing is named Homo Avades. It’s Level 20 and resists all magic types. The enemy uses light-based skills to attack the party. It can either deal moderate damage to a single party member or light damage to the whole party. The boss can also inflict Forget on a party member, preventing them from using their skills while inflicted. When its health gets low, the Homo Avades will use Soul Scream. This gives it a total of 4 actions during its turn. We used the Mage, Warrior, and Knight Archetypes for this fight, with the Mage having the skill to heal the whole party from the Healer Archetype. Our strategy was to break the shell and then use Synthesis Skills to moderately damage the heart.
You’ll want to start by attacking its shell. Once it has been broken, the Human will become unbalanced. This will give you a free turn to unload on its heart. You can also use a mage to damage the heart while breaking the shell, but it resists every magic element so that you won’t deal as much damage that way.
Once it regains balance, Assailants will spawn in the shell. They will attack the whole party for moderate damage on their turn, so try to take them out before then. After they move, the Human will repair its shell, prompting Gallica to point out that you should focus on removing the arm to prevent the shell from regenerating. You can do this quickly by hitting it with fire-based skills.
After destroying the arm, you’ll want to focus on the shell again. As before, once you break the shell, the Human will become unbalanced for a turn, allowing you to attack its heart again. After it recovers, the Assialants will spawn again, but you can have Gallica distract the troops this time. This will deal massive damage to them, making it easy to finish them off.
With the Assailants defeated, their turn will fail, taking an action away from the Homo Avades. It will then use its left hand to heal the shell partially. Like the right hand, you can quickly defeat the left hand using fire. From this point, it’s just a battle of attrition. Break the shell, stop the Assailants, and damage the heart. Once you’ve reduced the Homo Avades health to zero, a cutscene will trigger, completing the quest once it concludes.
Rewards
You’ll be rewarded with 1,000 EXP, 500 A-EXP, 2,200 MAG, 3,000 reeve, and the Avades’s Eggshell for defeating the boss.
